I love how these "analysts" are saying the roster was flawed with a serious face when they were all singing praise for Rob Pelinka after the offseason. HYPOCRITES
These clowns are paid to praise the Lakers..
Nah they aren’t hypocrites, they just don’t know basketball at all. They’re casuals being paid to discuss something they have no idea about. Not saying everyone who has played basketball at a high-level can break it down analytically, but MOST can do it better than someone who’s never dribbled a ball in their life (edit: J-Will is often a hypocrite though like you said)
I love how y'all think someone should get credit off an early season prediction when it fizzles...yet again... in the playoffs. Pelinka gets some blame but this nonsense all started when they went all in on Westbrook and that was LeBron's doing much as anyone
@@I.am_Groot naw! Rob didn’t want to pay rondo, Dwight or McGee so they settled for Westbrook..
Absolutely. They picked the Lakers to be 2nd under Nuggets
Finally someone acknowledging Ham rotation problem. Jay W!
THAT ALONE DOES NOT ACCOUNT FOR WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM. Stop trying to pretend like you know what you're talking about.
@@ryanbarnes840 yes that alone doesnt there are other things like lack of timeouts when the other team goes on runs and inability to make in game adjustments. 100% of blame should not go on Darvin but i feel that another coach would clean up some of these voids that Darvin had, and it may have just been becuz of his experience level coming into the job
@@karanbird239 casuals only watch highlights and pretend to know what they are talking about. Darvin Ham was THE problem for the lakers this year. He had terrible lineups trying to “experiment in game” with wing only lineups with Bron running point. He never bothered to try to play Wood and AD together. When AD had the few games he missed he started JAXSON HAYES over Christian Wood. He started Tauren Prince with 38 min games over Rui Hachimura for the first 50 games with like 8pts a game and Rui was outscoring him with only 12mins a game. Oh and thats before i even get to hes the worst game manager Ive ever seen he regularly lost games with big leads and several unused timeouts and challenges. The Denver series just showed everyone else the small improvements they could’ve made to change the whole series.
Kobe on ESPN: "I've known for a long time that they're a bunch of idiots."
Na lebum and ADisney is the problem and the roster filled with nobodies
Lebron and ad not the problem it’s management
Finally an analyst is saying what others are afraid to say!…it’s about time!
You didn't watch the Lakers lil bro clearly
@@samcar2724I watched the Lakers all season. Im a die hard Lakers fan. Lebron and AD need to take accountability. So be quiet, you don’t know basketball. Lebron doesn’t like to be held accountable.
You clearly didn’t watch the lakers. Wilbon should have some idea what context is. I could write 7 paragraphs on my why as a bad coach.
@@jamaledwards4755you saw the two stars play almost 80 game, average over 25 ppg+ while having to play in lineups constisting of CAM reddish and Vanderbilt. Every LA beatwriter posted articles abt literally the entire Locker room coaching themselves to finish the season cause all ham would say was that they needed to play harder, faster ecc. @@jamaledwards4755 If you watched the games you'd knew how bad Ham is

@@Nostalgia9478Says the guy who is obsessed with protecting Lebron
Wilbon, like others in the media, don’t watch the games. They just talk. You can always tell. Anyone who watched all the Lakers games this season know Darvin Ham has cost the team some games this season. His lineups, rotations, not using timeouts when the other team goes on runs, his obsession with a 3 guard lineup, etc. Pelinka has a hand in this too, as he hasn’t done enough to build a better team. But the players frustrations with him are valid. Trying to blame Bron and AD for Ham’s lack of awareness is crazy.
Exactly
spittin this is why people are moving away from these media "analyst" its just talking points for views.
A decent coach wouldve led the Lakers to 55+ wins this season
@@SolaceMcfly Exactly why I tune into Lakersnation and listen to their take because like me they watch all the games and actually see the issues Darvin presented....awful at calling timeouts, bad at challenging, bad at rotations, bad at maximizing skillsets, etc. Yes, the players also had issues for sure but it was clear that Darvin cost them at least 3 to 6 more wins in the regular season and did his part in these two Denver series to cost them wins.
So let’s go down the list
Walton was the problem
Vogel was the problem
Ham was the problem
Seems like the coach is always the scapegoat. Ever considered the Lakers just aren’t very good compared to the rest of the West?
I’m sure in another two years you’ll be blaming the coach again. No accountability amongst Lakers fans and players. Sad.
Man, no coach in their right mind is going to take this job because there is no job security.
Firing a 2nd year coach for losing to the defending champs is wild.
Nuggets were tied for the 2nd best record in the league, there is no shame in losing to them.
Wilbon is emotional because him and D-Ham are friends. You can’t watch the Lakers and not clearly see they had bad coaching
They might be secret twins
Defending Darvin Ham is super proof that you didn’t watch Lakers games.
And if you did you clearly see he has nothing to do with Lebron waiting till game 3 to drive the ball in the 4th quarter instead of settling for threes
“Super proof” wow what a way to express yourself 😂
Wrong. It's proof that you watch the games and realize that the Lakers stars were streaky all year...that's not coaching.
@@ryanbarnes840wrong. No one is giving LeBron or AD a pass but Ham had a number of glaring issues. Horrible lineups, lack of adjustments, and poor game management. All those issues are on Ham and don't get me started on him being repeatedly outcoached or him repeatedly blowing leads all year.

Played T.prince all those starter minutes when he’s a good bench player. They had a horrible record then. When they switched to Rui then when like 27-6 or something. Why did he bench his best players in the beginning of the season. Why doesn’t he use his timeouts even tho he said he saved them so Lebron and AD can get rest. He still leaves games with both! I could go on and on….stop the nonsense. Why did he play Spencer and Gabe vs Denver 5 minutes each? Why not stick to 1 for 10minutes so at least 1 can get a rhythm. Why did reaves only play 34mins that last game when he was cooking? He gave Spencer those minutes. Even reaves on the beach was throwing his hands up saying “what are we doing here?”. Is there a reason the team would stop running plays every 3rd quarter in the playoffs??? They’d just be freelancing. That’s coaching! That’s why they lost all those leads! I watch every game.

The Laker's offseason moves last year were great, but some significant issues were involved. Gabe Vincent was supposed to replace Schroder, but his injury messed up a crucial rotation. Last year, Schroder started and also came off the bench. This year, that role was transferred to Reaves and D'lo, who aren't actual floor generals. Vanderbilt was also huge in the Playoffs this year, but he was out this year. There was a lot of bad luck this season.

With all due respect to Coach Hama first time head coach he did a great job last year tearing down a team mid season and getting them to a WCF. Having said that he was a first time coach and he should never have been hired. The Lakers dropped the ball by not hiring Coach Lue in the beginning.
Darvin ham lack of in game adjustments and trash lineups cost the lakers so many games. I agree that some of the players under perform but, it’s the coach job to make those changes and he didn’t.I definitely think this firing was justified. It’s time to move on.

The reason he’s always being coached by newbie first years coaches is because the interviews gotta go like this

Wilbon is clearly speaking out of feelings instead of facts. Rotation wise and basketball iq Darvin Ham just didn’t have it. They underperformed
LeBron is the Coach.
You know it’s bad when even ESPN (who always rides Bron) is calling it as it is: it’s not a great job for the reasons stated.
I’ll coach the lakers for league minimum and win 50 games. I would sit like Phil Jackson during the game and let them try to get out of a 15 point deficit playing individual offense and crappy defense. Phil was a genius letting them know when they deviated from the game plan. He let them suffer.
But, when you have a 20 point lead in the playoffs, he would call a time out, early to tell them to keep getting the ball inside and stop shooting threes.
AD would not be taking any shots outside of 8-10 feet. He is your advantage every night in the paint.
Would like to see Tim get a shot at coaching
Darvin Ham was not ready...
Lakers jobs is a a dangerous one
I don’t know why any respectable coach would want that job
🎯 Kenny Atkinson
Lakers had already won the in season tournament banner and did not think it is important to win the championship.
YAYYYY lets talk about the Lakers again
To me, this is a risky move by LA. There are only so many other NBA coaches on the market right now. You could have still built with Ham, and make some changes to the roster.
Bulls should hire Dervin Ham or Monty Williams. Billy Donovan is not cutting it anymore!
I love how they say the Lakers need an experienced coach, and then bring up JJ Reddick... that's a real experienced coach right there!
Huge fan of JJ post-nba and yet his only experience is coaching his ten year old son's aau team.. no assistant coaching exp at any level!! I'm so confused as to why JJ's name keeps being brought up for head coaching jobs??!!
If the Lakers wanted to keep playing they should’ve tank the NO play in game to avoid Denver and go after OKC in the first round. The Lakers would’ve beaten OKC had they met. Love him or hate him, there's no denying that Darvin Ham will go down as one of the head coaches in NBA history
I like how Jason Williams wants the Lakers to hire coaches who are already under contract with other teams. Especially Jason Kidd why would he leave a better situation in Dallas for a worse situation that is only going to get worse in LA.
“He was so unseasoned he had 0 seasons” lmao dawg 😂😂
Seriously? In the middle of the playoffs, you guys are discussing who will be the next coach for LeLakers 😎
Lakers should give Mark Jackson a chance
Wow Wilbon said what the rest of them are afraid to say, bravo
That's space jam
You meant who's the next scapegoat ? 😂
Dwane Casey for Head Coach!
Can we bring back great veteran coaches like Larry Brown, Mark Jackson, Stan & Jeff Van Gundy & countless others? These great basketball minds are literally just sitting around. Like seriously??
Did LBJ just broke another NBA record? Having 10 coaches! The most in the history. 🤣
I'm a Lakers fan and I think Bron and AD with their egos need to go. I would want to rebuild and establish a true culture and identity for LA, then a coaching system similar to what the Spurs and heat have, then get the players who will fit in with the culture, identity, and system that we have. It's not the 80s-2000s anymore where we could just get the best of the best and win every season. LA is stuck with an old mindset while the league moved on and became better exponentially.
At this point, I'd rather have that than win one more championship with Bron then go now what after he leaves, then try to get the best players and coaches yet no one wants to come anymore because lets face it, LA is a dysfunctional organization right now.
What about Phil Jackson?
Laker fan who actually watch the game ARE NOT complaining about his firing...
why not just make LeBron the head coach since he knows so much. And AD can be the assistance coach.

Wilbon is 100% correct.
JJ Redick would be a great next coach for the Lakers. He already has the respect from Lebron based off their podcast collaboration.
😂 the lack of awareness from the media is astounding 😂 I can’t believe that they watch lakers games
If you really watched every Lakers game, you would see that they won a lot of games in spite of Hamm. 2 yrs of "experimental" line changes; misuse of timeouts; lots leads and momentum shifts; stagnate offenses! I agree...why are we not blaming LeBron and AD?
Imagine if Lakers had a reasonable coach with some experience to call a few timeouts and make some changes in game 2 instead of losing 20pt lead and losing a game they were winning 99% of the time just that 1% being the last shot... thats crazy... with game 4 what game 4 was it would've been 2-2 going to game 5 which was also easily winnable game with better rotation being able to count on other players rather than AD playing with 1 hand taking 1 shot in 15min after he got hurt.. 3-2 Lakers and even if they lost 4-3 cuz AD couldn't play last 2 games nobody would've been mad at Darvin Scam. LeBron and AD did all they can do to dominate the games they played as much as possible, if they want to blame Darvin Scam for not winning they have every right, cuz they showed up and played way better than Jokic and Murray and got defeated by Nuggets coaching and players utilized perfectly like MPJ, AG and other role players and bench and etc. Lakers had so many clueless possessions sometimes for several minutes in a row and so many players not being used properly! The media just reading raw data and talking not even watching the games... clueless.
I want to see all Lebron's haters and Darvin Scam's supporters's favorite players carrying teams at 39 years of age being let down in their last few good years by the organization with bad decision after bad decision.
