I’m sure I will need to watch this again when I’m staring at the pile of parts. I still think there needs to be a AvE Titanium Badge that can be added for those of us that want to remember the genius we got it from. Thanks, AvE.
Imagine AvE doing a review on an angle grinder he had to buy for 1000 USD that came as a bunch of parts which he would not only have to assemble, but also touch up, file away any imperfections from the molding process, put stickers on, grease it up and paint the whole thing.
I'm looking at 4 months of chemo, followed by more extensive chemo in hospital followed by bone marrow transplant and then recovery... but it's actually incurable, so only prospect is delaying the ultimate result. If you can't laugh, you'll cry and I don't do that...🤪
Received and assembled. I rubbed everything over with some Rapid Tab and it helped everything move smoothly. Awesome heirloom knife to pass down. Thank you for this. Instructions were very clear.
This thing is rough and cold to the touch. None of that cheap plastic to fail here. It will only improve as it weathers with use. Nailed it. Thanks AvE!

I received mine yesterday and just finished assembling it just now and all I can say is I’m in love. Rarely things nowadays are not worth the weight but this knife 110% worth it.
Love mine! Heirloom quality but only complaint is blade guide dulls the blade! Tried a fresh pack of 5 blades, tested each one before putting in knife and after 4 or 5 extensions blade is dull. Hopefully a Teflon or similar plastic blade guide is in the works.
This is really cool and I'm glad he came out with these. Ended up sparking my interest in box cutters so I managed to find some that would suit my needs a little better.
Came home yesterday from vacation and the knife was in my mailbox! Spent about 2 hours cleaning up the parts, up to 600 grit for the outside surfaces. Functions as smooth as a freshly shaven skookum!
So awesome and funny too! Sounds like an instruction viJeo from the 50's! I know there are some who don't need this amd some that need more instruction. You will never win with a mass group or varying skillful customers. Can't wait to put together mine and probably get one for each of my sons. Congrats! More products that I just have to have. Cheers
Well, I’m just a welder from Palmdale, but I got mine put together (a few operator fouls and switching to the 3/8 butterfly instead of the 3/4 drive snap on impact for assembly. This thing is about the slickest little pocket full of of overkill I’ve ever bled on.
Parts kit arrivededed. I lapped all the parts on a 1200 diamond stone and screwed it together. The blade lock pin's bottom flange was about .001 too large in diameter; it was dragging on the lower tittytanium bar. I chucked the pin in a drill, ran the edge on a diamond stone to knock down the outer diameter, and *viola* sweet music! This is a nice knife.
Mine arrived today. Touched the burrs with a fine file and the faces with some 400 grit and it went together flawlessly. A couple drops of 3-in-1 oil on the blade guides and it's as smooth as butter.
As a tried and true, blue blooded, corn-fed, mid-west born and raised, American I will openly and gladly admit that the Robertson screw head is the best, with torx being a distant 2nd.
Should have been torx. He captains they were "hard to find." Lol. One Google entry and I found the very first listing: M2x18mm T6 SS screws, $0.07/each when you buy them by the thousand. Very first listing on Google, without even actually trying to look or get bulk quotes.

Dearest AvE, Got the knife, very happy with it! I believe there may have been a teensy oversite on the backplate design. Consider downsizing (or just removing) the triangle cutout on the side closest to the blade. All the best, A fellow pixie enjoyer
Bending those brand new parts put me in mind of the, "hack" carpenters that I used to work with, they would when hanging doors bend brand new hinges. Kept me busy fixing their f ups for years

I finally had time to assemble this beauty. It will never leave my side if I have a choice in the decision. It will be buried with me or I'm not going!
