I love this method of making Thranduil's Crown. The last one I watched was made of wire and clay. After baking it couldn't be adjusted. I like that you used real pine leaves, which I hadn't thought of doing. If I could make this I'd want to use two colors for the branches, but other then that this is phenomenal. Thank you sharing it with us.
So beautiful. And I am pretty sure if you do this with silver wire and icy colours, it could make a great crown for an ice dragon. The hot glue seems to capture also the structure of icicles very well.
I really love all of the tutorials that Klaire has made! The amount of patience and determination it took to finish each and every one of her tutorials is just amazing. Thank you Klaire for all your hard work and thank you Make for uploading this! ^^
Oh my god, that is beautiful! *cries because how does one craft such prefection?* If for some reason I win - it will be the best day of my life because I have everything for my Thranduil cosplay except for the crown! This would have been perfect!!! But if I do not win - congratulations to the winner! It's an absolute masterpiece!
It's seriously amazing what you can make with hot glue! I used hot glue to make a man's melting head for a project in my 3D class for my university. Klaire, you've always been so inspiring. Thank you for making your videos. It's always exciting to see your videos pop up on my subscriptions feed.
If it wasn't for Klaire I would never think to make so many beautiful crowns from just wire and hot glue. So awesome. I would totally wear this crown to see the next Hobbit movie. :)
I'm so happy that Klaire got featured on Make! I quite enjoy her other DIY projects, and this one was no exception. Thanks for the opportunity to win this awesome crown!
Klaire, I have recently been loving your Thranduil make up tutorial as I I love lotr + the hobbit! I remember a few years back you had done a Arwen make up tutorial and I would really love if you would consider doing a 'The Lord Of The Rings' series of make up. You really truly inspire me,and don't stop what you are doing, because your great!
I am just making myself one, the convention is in two days....I used quite thick metallic wire and I am gonna cover it with fimo, I hope it'll work. It will not be as flexible. And I am gonna hand paint it bc the spray was so expensive :'D This crown is a pain to make BUT it does look damn fabulous in the end :) really nice tutorial
i am so thankful i found you because i made a crown but it was made out of clay and broke very easily. And now this will be very light as well, thank you so much.
This tutorial is amazing, as are all of Klaire's tutorials. I absolutely love how creative Klaire is. The Hobbit is a fantastic film also. The process of making the crown looks well worth it, it looks amazing!
That is very beautiful craftsmanship right there. You can take the most simplest things you have around the house (or buy it if necessary) and make something very beautiful like this crown. Brilliant job once again by Klaire
that's really awesome. Thranduil is one of my favorite charas from the hobbit and that's so pretty cool. I wish I could make my own but I'm sure, it will never be so... perfect like this one *-*
This is so gorgeous, I would love if you held more giveaways of your creations, I was so sad when I realised that I'd missed the last headband as it was one of my favorites of your designs, guess I'll just have to try and make one for myself...
He looks like really the real crown! I love it! But I've don't got the supplies you need... I've been practicing on the makeup tutorial of Thranduil and it really looks like her! I only need to make this crown and I'm complete to be Thranduil!
You never cease to amaze me with how much you can do with hot glue. I hope to win this crown but if I don't, I might just go it a go and see if I can make one myself. :)
