She doesn't receive the recognition she deserves. No sport's coverage on her ESPN. She's one of the GOAT's in all of athletics. America is backwards in sports
Kayla is ridiculously strong, stronger than most men, even male athletes. But she’s also quite large and bulky, bigger than most male athletes, which is only going to hurt her for things like SF training but helps her in things like fights (not so much Judo necessarily) so she’s very tanky. There are going to be very strong male athletes as powerful as her that are smaller than her in size and muscularity, basically they are more “dense”. Kayla competed in the 170-175lbs range and keep in mind that this competing weight was much lighter than her bulky, natural offseason weight, hovering around the 190-200 lbs range.
@@cullomuchoo2040 Kayla didn't cut weight in Judo, so her natural weight isn't 190-200 nor has it been - i'd be shocked if she was ever more than 180, and nowadays she's much smaller than that.
@@maryf720 I was under the impression that she went around 10-15 lbs over her normal competing weight because she talked about cutting weight before but that might not have been for her early Judo career stage (where she competed at 170 I think).
Cullo Muchoo Yeah she used to cut weight and compete in the -63kg division originally so she was literally miserable starving herself, and then her coaches made the decision that if she wanted to win she would just have to work harder to beat bigger opponents and made her gain weight and be a lot healthier - that’s when she moved to the -78kg division which was a massive difference. Keep in mind she was really young when she was in the -63kg division so she likely would have naturally had to move eventually but she bulked up massively.
@@maryf720 Ah I thought she started her career at the 78 kg range and took it down from there because I remember her being very bulked up when she was younger/in younger videos where I remember there being a note of her actual weighing a few kilos heavier than the 78 kg competing weight but I suppose I was wrong/misremembering. But I thought she was always that naturally bulked up due to her being tall and it was just her natural build, didn't know she ever went to 63 kgs. You seem to know a lot about her career and probably are a bigger fan of Judo than I am?
That is nicest thing i have ever heard. A friends is a single soul that is inside of two bodies.
THIS RELATONSHIP IS FREAKIN GOALS
Two very inspirational women. They represent our country well. U.S.A. judo is getting more respect because of them.
I love Kayla "why not spend the next four years beating people up for a living?"
Two awesome girls
Transgender
Impractical jokers brought me here. Love Kayla. Loved watching her two Olympic finals. Wow.

Smoking Hot Kayla....She is one BadAss Judoka and a great example of a powerful American woman.
Kayla Harrison is the type of woman who might have a chance completing some kind of male SF training without different requirement.
