Maia and Alex are so hardworking, humble and nice people; and even though they might face some limitations due to being brother and sister, this made them take on a different style and produce some wonderful programs. Specially "Fix You" with which they won the silver at the 2016 World Championships. Their career has only gone upwards since Sochi: back then their FD score was among the 90s, while they got over 110 at last year's Worlds. I hope they can get an Olympic medal in 2018, the best of luck for the Shibsibs! :D

I love the shibsibs so much. Personally I think they really stand out as a sibling pair and their programs are always so much fun to watch bc they are a sibling pair (less touchy feely compared to other pairs). Shibsibs ftw!!

The ShibSibs are greatest skating pair. I didn't know they were in their Twentys, they look younger than that. I only saw a couple of their skating programs from the 2018 Olympics and they did an amazing job. They inspired me to start skating again. Hope to see them at the 2022 Winter Olympics!

i feel like they are rarely given their dues by the judges, though. technically, they are better than anybody else. and yet you wouldn't know it by looking at their competitive record. honestly, they should have won worlds in 2017, but they barely got bronze. i just hope it's not because they are asian, but i suspect it is, and it's a crying shame
But all the best skaters (and rewarded accordingly) are Asian! Yuzuru Hanyu, Yuna Kim, Shoma Uno, Midoro Ito (regarded as probably the best female jumper ever) Stop making everything about race. (Yes, The Russians are overscored, but that is because they are Russian, not because they are European)
i think it's because other ice dancing couples can be seen as having "chemistry" on ice, but bc they're siblings they bring a different relationship to the ice so the judges equate that to a worse performance just bc it isn't romantically driven.
I feel like it is because they are siblings, they don't have that great romance factor or intense chemistry that some of the other couples have. Which of course those couples are dating/married, or at least not related to each other, so it comes across differently.
The Shibs are such great people!! They're amazing athletes but also they're such inspiring individuals overall! And their vlogs were the reason I got into their skating. :) I definitely recommend everyone to watch their short dance from this season, which is called That's Life (it's a mix of Sinatra and Jay-Z plus they do super cool hip-hop moves!) and their free dance to Coldplay's Fix You, which is such a moving piece. I can guarantee you'll love both! Check them out!!

At first I really don't like figure skating, especially the ice dance, I find it boring. But after watching The Shibs skate to Fix You last 2015 I find myself watching figure skating videos. I learned to respect figure skaters, all their hard work and dedication to their sport. The Shibs are great role models, these two are just inspiring. What they've been through, makes me so proud of what they achieved. Congratulations to their parents for raising them well. I'm excited for what's next for the Shibs.

I've never taken an interest in any sports up until I've just watched this video. Do you think it's too late for a 14 year old to pick up on such an elegant and difficult sport when I have no experience in skating at all?
April Barcega I started at 15 and it's so much fun. One thing to take into consideration would be to make sure you can afford it. Skating is expensive and it is often the only think holding you back but if you can go for it! Look into beginner classes and go to a few then invest in a good pair of skates. Go and get fitted. Do not buy online or at a regular sports store. Go to a pro shop and try on lots until you find the best fit. But whatever you do do not go buying ice flys because they are expensive and 'the best skates' they are for advanced skaters a beginner will find them too stiff and you may end up injured.
