What a splendid strong version of this prophetic hymn. May the vision of it become a reality sooner than later. God bless you who sing in faith and hope.
The choir, congregation, pianist, and organist did a great job with this hymn. This is one of those hymns you sing with all of your heart and let the organ roar!!
I like it. More churches should sing it but it's sad anything ethnic has been made to be seen as bad. Anyone can embrace this song for the value to humanity and empathy it calls for.
A rousing choir version, so much better than a solo version where the soloist "works" it to the point of being intelligible. But I must say, it carries a lot more credibility when sung by a predominately black choir.
Makes you feel part of a community, of course it does. Makes you feel safe, sure! Go for it. But let’s not use it to push your views of bizarreness onto others
@@mrpc9886 it was supposed to be a reply to a comment hating on this and I was using sarcasm. I clearly didn’t realize I wasn’t replying to that comment and instead making a new totally different comment. So yeah I’ll take the piss on this one. Big mistake. My apologies, everybody
@@lindawylie4182, actually this choir is diligent in wearing masks, as they should be in close circumstances. Choirs are put at high risk with respiratory diseases. Possibly you’re watching videos from pre-Covid days. Regardless, it’s a wondrous sound for sure!
@@lindawylie4182 yes, I was confused on that too. After watching dozens of their older and newer vids, I see the date often reflects the “publication” of the videos (after much editing and mixing) rather than the date of actual performance. If you go to Panoplyimaging’s channel (click on the name under the video title) you’ll see a legion of their anthems during Covid dates, all with masks, and you’ll also see that many performances without masks were actually done several years ago, like 2015, but are just now published. When you go to that channel, you will be delighted by the long list of additional videos of vocal duets and quartets by these choir members. The church is really lucky to now have a brilliant production person with cutting edge equipment and multiple mics above and in front of the choir, as well as on the 2 instruments, to pick up every nuance in sound. It’s highly impressive recording work, that’s for sure. Most of this choir are professional level musicians as I’m sure you can tell. I’ve googled the names of soloists and see they are all members of Houston Opera, German opera houses, etc, as well as Houston classical ensembles. I note that choir members are also choral directors from Houston’s public school system, like middle school, high school and college choir conductors by vocation. So it’s clear the director of this choir has carefully recruited some of the finest musicians in Houston to join his choir - and they appear to relish their experience together. They continually take it up another notch so I’d guess that makes it challenging and fresh even for professionals who engage in vocal music as part of their vocations, every day of the week. And BTW, this director has one of the strongest and most resonate solo voices I’ve ever heard sing, Anywhere! And hey, guess how hard it is to manage 50 and 60 professional music personalities in one room! LOL 😂 😂 😂
The bald white guy and the African American lady are really feeling this hymn. beautifully sung by the way

The choir director looks very graceful
Beautiful Anthem and nicely done!! Thank you for sharing. :)
Very Beautiful!
Very moving, thank you !!
Excellent
The best version
Beautiful 🎉
This hymn sounds much more realistic metrically-speaking at 1.25 playback speed.
Que Dios bendiga a todos hay Voces Angelicales que invitan a los Angeles a Cantar al Señor de Señores y Rey de Reyes:gozamos en Costa Rica.
Beautiful rendition of the Negro National Anthem written by James Wheldon Johnson.
Is it really?

Oh, Nolan!
Where is this church?
Houston
Just doesn't seem right without the red head in the choir!!

Weird thinking that singing songs is what gets you into heaven…or that heaven is real at all

Weird thinking that you came here just to post something like that. Your momma must be real proud of her little boy!

First Methodist Houston 😄
@@Jack-eo5fn , no masks...wish that were the case here in church. I fully support our state’s mask mandate, but singing in church....☹

@@Jack-eo5fn , actually says March 2020. Not being critical though...
