In the heart of British India, amidst the cries for independence, a poet was born whose words would ignite the flames of revolution. From a young age, Faiz was captivated by the power of words. He faced persecution for his political beliefs and was imprisoned several times, both by British colonial authorities and later by the Pakistani government. He was jailed for his alleged involvement in the Rawalpindi Conspiracy Case in 1951.
Faiz also went into self-imposed exile in Beirut and later in London due to political pressure. In the confines of imprisonment, Faiz found freedom in the boundless expanse of his words, a testament to the resilience of the human spirit in the face of oppression. Embracing the Progressive Writers' Movement, Faiz became a beacon of hope for the oppressed, weaving his words into a tapestry of resistance.
He was deeply committed to social justice and political activism. Faiz Sahib became more than a poet. He became a symbol of hope, a voice for the voiceless, and a beacon of light in the darkest of times. His most famous works include "Bol," "Nisar Main Teri Galiyon Ke," and "Hum Dekhenge," which later became an anthem of resistance during political movements.

Sir I think you ignored Sir Doctor Allama Muhammad Iqbal... No doubt he is also a great poet of 20th century but if you say greatest poet so i think you are not doing justice
@@Raja_Abdullahh i have said urdu poet, But Alama Iqbal's majority of poems were written in Persian language and after 1930 he started writing in Urdu, but then after few years in 1938 he died, so how can you call a Greatest poet of urdu who was written poems in persian for almost 40 years and for few years in urdu.
