Hey Travis, I have the same filter on my 125g. There’s a video on Pond Guru UA-cam channel where he pimps out a FX6. He shows a cheaper and better way for the sponge filters. I’m very happy with the filter does a great job. I did add a sponge on the intake which helps a bunch. Curious about your water auto change setup with this filter
FYI - Petsmart is offering the Fluval FX6 for $249.99 - IN-STORE. I live in the Washington, DC area so I don't if this sale is nationwide. Keep up the good work!
Could be, there are many different kinds of bio media that can be used, sponge, ceramics, k1, k3, pretty much any surface that is capable of growing bacteria is biological media. My go to is sponge for it's ease of cleaning opposed to ceramics which clog up over time and reduce the overall surface area greatly.

You could fill the canisters baskets full of gravel and it will work. Very informative video 👍🏼
Thank you

I'll check it out thanks!
That's the most idiotic thing I have ever seen.

I got excited at your price and looked it up.
The FX6 is $349 PetSmart
Angel - The price is a ‘IN-STORE’ price. Call your local store and ask the fish department to check the shelf price. I have my receipts to prove it.
Also if you have the PetSmart app you can play the treat trail game and get a 25% off coupon and get it for $189
Trafish Aquatics - Time to buy a ‘3rd’! Thanks! This is what the community is all about!
Your welcome! 😁
Do you need to replace those white sponges that come with it or are they permanent and you just wrinse them?
No need to replace them just rinse and reuse
There is more bio-media in my jbl e902. This almost only sponge...
