- Since the beginning of time, people have tried to scratch their back but they haven't been able to reach every area, until now. Introducing the fully automatic, servo controlled, 3D printed handheld back scratcher. I 3D printed an arm, hand and fingers and then added spring steel, strings and servos to make a fully automatic handheld back scratcher.

What glue did you use on the printed parts? I find that nothing is stronger than just melting them together, usually with a soldering iron and a flat bit that you don't care about. Hot glue is okay but over time tends to weaken and separate if under stress.
As someone with eczema, I *made* myself able to reach that spot.
There is now no spot I can't itch.
Now all I need is to STOP ITCHING!
I think some wood cracks due to the water and salt in sweat overtime so dipping or coating a handle in something waterproof if in long term use can be a good idea, some tape let's stuff pass through slightly etc. Amazing project!

Looks sick! To make your prints look a little cleaner you can try Acetone Vapor Bathing pieces to smooth them out. Also you can Acetone weld pieces together vs using superglue.
Imagine the mantis blade mounted on that with the needles in the fingers. The horror, the horror.
I know Honda still produces the old style wiper blades you described. Might be good to know in the future.
You can create a pretty good Halloween costume, you just need a black cape, a second hand and stilts .

Well I never knew about replacing just the blade... And I didn't know there was spring steel inside. Now to find those junked wiper blades I threw away 5 years ago.

I don't have this problem, I've got abnormally long arms (6'2" wingspan but I'm only ~5'10", fortunately my legs are overly long too so I don't look like a skinny gorilla) - I can reach anywhere on my back!

The needle-hands version looks like the vaccine shot machine that babies get here in Japan.
Babies get 2 giant shots for polio, and other viruses and ailments at 6 months (?) here. They do 6 shots at once.
That is done twice, so most Japanese people have 12 dots on their left arm. The injection spots never go away.
there was once something similar here in the US, as far as im aware they arent done anymore? but im honestly not too sure, they used this gun that is loaded with a bunch of needles and shoot out kinda like how an insulin pen works and it leaves a circle shaped cluster of needle scars i believe the guns were called jet injectors

I'd rather have one of those back-scratchers that you get from the Dollar Tree those works so good and they're a dollar and don't look just goofy but I guess you're trying to show this you know as you can make something so I'm glad you were able to make a hand that moves around just the beginning of some big things for you I guess wish you well in your future endeavors if those are the kind of Endeavors anyway I don't know what all kinds of things you may be into but I'm talkin about making things like that
