Seeing someone play MFM blind again gives me this weird sort of nostalgia, even though it's only been a few months. I got swept up in the community and it exploded so fast that it's nice to go back and play one of the first mods I ever played. Great video Alec.

@@apollomcdonald the second one still had a LOT of problems iirc, both of them were flawed and sorta broke a lot of 'rules' charters would try and follow, plus the engine did NoT keep up correctly half of the time
Tbh the charting was fine, the sarv engine just had trouble with double notes. like if you ported over the sarv engine charts to a kade or psyche engine port, it plays perfectly normal. Might not be at everyone's standards when it comes to a good chart, but it works. (I personally prefer the original alt difficulty charts over any of 1000 recharts people have done.)
Really glad you played a remastered version. The original is kinda imfamous for awful charting and some songs just being broken, esspecially Zavodila. It had issues with so many double notes that some notes disapeared before you were able to hit them along with the really spammy charting and a bunch of notes that have no vocals accociated with them. Casanova was also a mess but it gets a pass since it was intended as an April Fools joke. It's a shame that this mod with some pretty fun and memorable characters is always gonna be remembered by some people for it's awful original charting. But I'm glad you enjoyed this either way
Loved the vid. Dunno if it's just me, but I noticed a significant number of "jumps" (maybe frame drops?) during the video where I'd anticipate you hitting a note and then the next thing I see is it skipped to the next 3rd note.
It’s an issue with FNF in general not just the remastered mod, the game is held together by toothpicks and peanut butter. Especially if you’re playing from an HDD, you’re gonna have frames drop occasionally in your first attempt at songs. If you restart the song after it happens it won’t skip usually.
You know, after everything that happened, it's kinda nice to see someone who genuinely loves the charting and music for this mod. I hope the creator of the mod sees this video.

I know the remaster fixed the charting but damn I’m really missing the cutscene with Ruv and Sarv. Just seeing Ruv pop into frame is really jarring comparitavely. Also I kinda prefer his old, more chill art style over the rediculous Jojo posing he has in the remaster.
Lest we forget that the creator of the mod specifically said that Ruv's mic was either not working or was turned off. His voice is genuinely that loud that it shook the entire Church.
all things considered i'm actually pretty glad acai played a remastered version. i want people's take-away from MFM to be the cool characters and banger songs, not the incredibly scuffed original engine and slightly less scuffed original charting.
I love seeing that childlike glee in Acai, it reminds me of how all of us were when this mod first came out, people who were just getting into Friday Night Funkin' were so innocent at the time.

The charts from the original version are more difficult and way more fun in my opinion. But like you said, the engine that it runs on is suboptimal. But I still think you should check it out, just to experience it.
The original charts were difficult just because they were rarely on beat and had tons of spam. Also they had jumps when the engine didn't even support them.

Fact for Acai : The reason why the screen was shaking during Zavodila was because of Ruv's voice. It's *"naturally"* that loud, that it made the whole church shake. And his microphone wasn't even on. Now imagine Zavodila but Ruv's mic is on.
