8:14 time stamp, I’d venture to say the bc variation on the a- tip is much smaller than that of the eldx. Great video as always.

Great to see videos like this. I have nothing chambered in this caliber. I do have a bolt gun chambered in 6.5 x 55 Swede which is a pretty capable round. Have mostly shot rounds in the 140 gr size. Went to Ally to buy ammo to support your sponsor here in mid-April - and they were out of stock on about 60%+ of their inventory. None of what I needed 308 and 6ARC, etc. was available. Tell the boys down in Texas that sponsoring ammo/advertising, creating demand, driving traffic at the web store is a complete waste if you can’t plan inventory management. I get it that having a stock-out of one or two skus will happen from time to time but to have half or more of the items unavailable means something is wrong with the business. Don’t mean to be an azzhole - but if you don’t know what prevents customers that want to buy from you from doing so, you’re running blind. As always thanks for the content.

I found ELD-X has more than enough accuracy for the 700 yards I get at home. So that's what I load in my 6.5 PRC. That way at least I have a reasonable mid-range hunting load always on tap and well practiced with.
You make it look so easy, as if wind is the only thing that makes long range impossible to shoot consistently Hurts to know it will be a while before I can be so stable even with a bipod
Greatly enjoyed this. Not personally a hunter so I stick to mostly match ammo but have always been curious how the hunting ammo would perform at distance.
My data tracks with yours on the 220 ELD-X vs. 230 A-tip out of the 300 prc. The ELD-X is a great hunting bullet out to 900. The A-tip is great out to 2000 yards due to bc and weight.
Thank you! It’s certainly work but I’m having fun creating content and folks are enjoying it so I plan to keep cranking videos out. Do me a favor and share my stuff with your buddies!
I like your approach on how you compare factory bullets and rifle/optics at various distances. However, this approach should not advocate It’s application to hunting situations beyond 600 yards. Reason, there are too many variables to consider and you owe it to the game that you pursue that 100% of the time you can make and a clean ethical shot with your first shot. I see your missed shots at various distances that if hunting could wound an animal and the possibility of not recovering that animal. What I would like to see is your approach as it relates to hunting rifles, when you should consider better optics. A considerable number of hunters today still use Variable and fix power scopes. When should you step up to a tactical turret and use a ballistic app and at what distance do we first need to consider using it. Taking a shot at an animal 200 - 300 yards away with a fixed or variable scope is a lot different than using a turret and in your words pushing out the limits of this bullet and gun combination.. Old guns set up with fixed and variable scopes can push out their effective range beyond 200 - 600 yards with a tactical scope. Most viewers believe you wouldn’t hunt elk in the back country with your heavy gun and tripod. Please be realistic, long range shooting with your setup is great but not for hunting the back country.
