I was at this match, about 1-30 we were outside the Barclay when 100s of Everton fans came around the corner. We were about 13/14 year old, and thought we're about to get a kicking, but then there was a roar coming from king st, we look up and city fans were running toward the Everton fans. It all kick off for about a hour. Never seen anything like it.
Watching 1970s Norwich City always makes me smile. I was in my final years primary school at this time and our school football kit was yellow and green like Norwich. Trouble is when a younger student had a school ''trouser accident'' the only thing they were given, after a clean up, was some football kit. For a while I thought all Norwich City players had shit their pants....Ahh happy days!
Kendall, Ball and big Joe Royle were all sold at about 26 years old. All sold too early. Especially big Joe, He went on to score plenty more goals for Norwich, Bristol City and Man City. I wish we had him these days.
Absolute gold 👍 Am I crazy or is that Peter Purves commentating!! ?? Oh and being in the deepest countryside of course you hear a chicken clucking in the crowd about 4:58
14th, only thing was they were favourites with the bookies to win in 70/71 as they'd been a major force for most of the 60s and their 69/70 title success was no surprise unlike Leicester's.

this was the opening day fixture on 12th August 1972, one of our worst season back then finishing 17th , 2 years after being crowned champions .
Yes, they were top after about 7 games, but I think Royle got injured and they only won 2 or 3 more.

That kit actually looks really good.🔰
Jim Bone scores Norwich's first ever goal in the top division.
"cries from the Everton supporters of 'handball'? It was and Everton player who handballed it.

Didn't Everton finish about 11th after winning the league in 70 ? Bit like Leicester now .
