      @@GameTechTalk I remember wanting a Microsoft surface tablet to play pc games and never really could and the rog flow was always expensive. However OXP X1 more affordable and the handy UI to make changes regarding the wattage on the fly is a game changer. Triple AAA gaming on a tablet is a dream come true😮

    When you review the full size daddy size, can you speak on how the right thumbstick feels? So many manufacturers put that stick so low on that side that it gives me carpal tunnel after ten minutes.

    Badass!
    If I was to have this, I'd probably max out the TDP, given I would rarely if ever travel with this thing lol. I dunno, like this is something I'd use in the home, then that kinda makes me think why don't I just stream my pc games at max settings like my other devices and not kill my battery? And then how often these devices come out, I'd feel compelled to constantly update every 2 years or so, and then I can't even upgrade it so... ya know? Like I gotta ask, who are these huge handhelds for? People who don't have a computer and just want to game? I mean it's cool and all but practicality.. I don't see much of a need for this.
    Now this is what the Legion Go should have been. Not some kinda useless mouse thingy and the inability to lock the controllers together.
    Great review, buddy.

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  11 днів тому

      That's a fair question to ask and truth be told, I absolutely see value to what you are saying. In fact, before 120hz and 144hz panels on handheld PCs were a thing, I was one of those that preached just grabbing your 120hz phone with AMOLED and to stream your PC instead. With that said, with external GPUs, more and more people are using these to create a docking gaming experience. Therefore they can bring it with them in social settings, at work if their jobs allow it, in travels, much like a souped up Nintendo Switch.
      I see the appeal but it definitely remains devices that aren't for everyone. Thanks Kyle!

      @@GameTechTalk One more question. I have heard that the larger X1 has problems with stuttering, as the graphics memory is not allocated variably and there is a bottleneck. Is this correct and does this also happen with the Mini? Thank you and best regards

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  6 днів тому

      @@mastertubeman I have not experienced this with the X1 Mini, I also have not (so far) with the X1 AMD but barely spent any time with it. You may be referring more to the X1 Intel which I can definitely say was a thing but personally, I felt like that was mostly addressable by keeping high TDP but when going into battery saving territory and rocking it low, it was abysmal, unuseable even and that is including when just browsing the OS without gaming at all.
      I hope this helps! ☺

He was adopted so my siblings and I never got to know which part of Italy but it's in my bucket list to visit one day. We have very strong Italian communities in Montreal and I grew up with them, so I'm very close to the culture, my late step father was Italian. I'm fighting tooth and nail and bit the bullet on the X1 AMD. Part of me is scared of it being "too big" and makes me wished I ordered the min, but with my poor eyesight, I guess it's a tradeoff. Will I look stupid playing all my games, especially retro, on the X1 with that big screen?

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  День тому +1

      Honestly, it's a bit shocking how close the X1 Mini and X1 can be when going back and forth but with that said, the X1 Mini does come out on top ergonomically and by just sheer of wait and overall balance. However, I may have not expressed that well enough in the video, it is definitely not by a "whole lot". They do feel extremely close and I'll address that when episode 5 is out.

    The mini is missing one vital thing. A VRR compatible display

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  6 днів тому

      Yeah VRR would send both the X1 and X1 Mini over the moon but it'll have to be for when newer panels are made available. With that said, I'd take a jump to OLED before I would VRR. In fact, OLED is so highly responsive that I doubt VRR would even be that necessary.

      Yeah, it's not cheap for sure. But it also is a far more versatile device and will keep up with many to not say all of the laptops in nearly identical price range. However, if you go in the 1300+ all the way up to the 3000-4000 dollar laptops? The needle moves a lot. With that said, all of those options are not as portable and I know people see this and think: "Dude, this is not portable, what are you saying?" but I'd beg to differ, it all comes down to what one needs and how to address it. Perfectly fine to not need this though. Thanks for watching guys! @speakyourmind360 @AhmadZakwan-fd3xc @undistrubed809

    • @speakyourmind360

      @AhmadZakwan-fd3xc Yeah, probably the ones who have enough money to throw around won't care at all. But more than 60% of Americans think a $1000 is way too much to spend on a gaming console when they have rent and bills which is way more important and would only pay $500 max for any console. They would definitely care.

    This is gonna be a tech garbage in 2 years time. I just bought a second hand good as new rtx 4080 laptop for only 1.5k dollars that is gonna be future resistant at least for the next 5 years.

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  8 днів тому

      Here's why the laptop will be resistant for 5 years. Because -you- bought the right device to address -your- specific needs. That device, the X1 Mini, simply ain't it for you and that's ok. But hey, maybe someone wants to play indie games for the next 5 years because here's the thing, a GPD Win 2 is still very capable to play indie titles and guess how old that one is... And even when it released? It was way weaker in correlation to what the 8840U is to the market right now.
      I get that it's not for you, but no point putting down the ones for who it makes sense for. ;)

      @@GameTechTalk prob is the battery gonna die in the next 3 years. I've a gpd win 4 and ally for over a year no matter how much battery care you put unto these things they lose 10% total mwh every 150-300 cycles. If you're going to plug it in 4 years might as well invest to a powerstation as early as now.
