  • Steve Morgan and Russ Dawson from Sportsmarine in Bunbury take the Sea Jay 5.0 Tuff Mate for a spin. Powered by the 60HP Yamaha 4-stroke, it's an ideal first-offshore boat - tough, economical and cheap to get on the water.

Guys just some feedback. Driving forward is but one very small part of boats like this. I'd really like to see some actual STABILITY and moving around the floor, leaning into the coamings as if fighting a fish or difficult conditions, two people on one side fishing (the norm). Is there a difference between leaning on the coamings forward versus back (there is) but would be good to see. What's the tinny slap noise level in a chop. You know what I mean, everyone seems to focus on go fast, that alleviates any potential fishing issues in a supposed tru-blu fishing and crabbing boat.

Because it’s all very subjective - speed and economy can be objectively measured. The rest can be manipulated.
