    Fantastic! I'm so glad to see you doing formation-specific vdieos, it's a huge help. One of my biggest weaknesses is just the hard numbers about who's good and who's not, so stuff like this helps me more than you can imagine.
    That said, I have an unrelated question that I could use someone's help with. I've been using the Oxventurer's Guild as my gold farm team because almost everyone on the squad bumps gold find in some way. It's really easy for me to set them, pop a gold potion, and leave the game for a day or two and let them get as far as they can while making some favor. The only thing I'm struggling to figure out is the DPS slot. Prudence is their DPS, and some of their gold find scales based on how many members of the team you have, so Prudence gives that a bump. But Makos is also a gold find DPS who is evergreen and potentially better, because he directly contributes to gold find when he kills enemies. So my question is, do you think it's more efficient *purely from a gold farm standpoint* to stick with Prudence to complete the Oxventurer affilation, or use Makos instead because his gold find might make up for the loss in stacks?
    Also, I know you're doing more formation videos (mormation videos?), so I won't ask for that, but I would love it if you would do a video explaining Trials of Mount Tiamat, how it works, and how to get legendary equipment, because this is the only part of the game I refuse to interact with because I believe it requires me to work with other players and I don't want to drag them down because my characters aren't good enough. As a result, I understand very little about it.

    • @tyredack
      @tyredack  Рік тому

      I would honestly recommend using whatever your best personal DPS is. I never really run my progression team with a focus on gold find, I tend to do whatever outputs the best damage, then when I hit my wall Azaka farm it, then swap back with that earned gold to see how much further I can go. But if you want your focus to on all your Supports to be Gold Find, I would still recommend getting your hardest hitting Champion in that slot regardless imo.
      As far as Trials of Mount Tiamat, you should for sure give it a go! I do go over it (I don't remember the depth it was a while ago) in my Idle Champions Overview video if you want to check that out. But in the 10 tiers of difficulty, you have to complete one level before progressing to the next. So, you'll really never dragon any down as you say. You'll only be at the level you can push and be paired with people of equal or greater power.

      @@tyredack Ahh, I skipped that video because I assumed I knew everything in it. Goes to show what I know!
      You have a good point with your statement. I just, I dunno, for some reason Azaka farm formations just fall out of my brain and I never remember how to actually make them work. There's so many moving parts that I just get bored and give up.

    Nrakk's actually decent if you use Zorbu and Valentine. His effect applies multiple times to Zorbu's buff and is magnified by Valentine's Socialite (due to a bug, presumably). The increased buff effect is then observed from each champion that receives Zorbu's buff (including himself), so Nrakk end up being solid when Valentine is leveled sufficiently.
    Nrakk can be pretty decent with Asharra as well since his buff applies to her 7 times (scalable by Valentine). It also applies to Xerophon 5 times, Orkira 2 times, and at least once to a few other potpourri or exotic eligible supports, but with no scaling from Valentine.

    Thank you for the guides! I've played the game off and on for a few years but never bothered to sit down and learn optimized formations, even though I have all the champs! Now I can finally get some progression going

  • @Pineapply_Queen
    @Pineapply_Queen Рік тому +2

    I've definitely considered switching from Asharra to Artemis, but what champs would be good for this isn't exactly cut-and-dry. (Probably because I'm dependent on byteglow for a lot of my champ info, and they have a way to filter by Asharra bond but not DPS+Support or Positional vs Non-positional, so putting together Asharra formations was easier for my ADHD brain.) This was a massive help in that regard! I don't have the Blacksmith Contracts to invest in him yet, so it might be a long time before I seriously consider switching, but I'm definitely keeping it in mind.
    A suggestion for future videos would be to talk more about what supports can and can't be used with certain patrons. You did that with NERDS because they have the misfortune of being eligible for none of them, but with Artemis being eligible for everyone, and most top-tier DPS being eligible for more than one, specifying who can and can't accompany the DPS wouldn't be a bad idea. (Granted this is probably just in my brain because I'm coming off of banging my head against the wall trying to come up with an Asharra formation for Strahd, since it turns out a third of my main formation is too dumb to qualify; and I can't maintain Pot+HnH without dropping either Baeloth or Ulkoria, which is a hard no.)
    (P.S. I respect you being willing to own up to and correct when you've made mistakes; you work really hard on these so it's 100% understandable that things slip through the cracks sometimes.)

    • @tyredack
      @tyredack  Рік тому +1

      Glad to be of help!
      That's one thing I do like about Artemis is a lot of his supports are viable for *every* patron, with Krydle, Blooshi, Kent, Shandie, Catti-brie, Makos, and someone else in the near future but that's a spoiler with a feat.
      As far as Ash in Strahd you might need to wiggle a bit, but there are still solid options even with sacrificing one of those great supports. Though you do lose Baeloth, Kent is an excellent Pot replacement. Or you could get a little Exotic and try some Virgil over Ulkoria. Blooshi + Nova + Virgil + Xerophon makes for some great buffing potential.

    Thanks for the great work. I have been using Ashara for my main DPS but just got Krond, haven't gotten Artemis yet as it seems like you need pretty specific team setups to benefit from it (similar to Krond and Zorbu?) and a bunch of BS Contracts which are still going to my Hew and Briv.

      Much appreciated. All the names you dropped are likely the formations I'm going to cover first (Asharra, Krond, Zorbu) but you're right on. Hew and Briv are smart to invest in first before hard committing to a DPS, and Artie does take the specific Champions of those I covered in the video as well as investment in himself to take off. Krond and Artemis more than other DPS require a lot of investment to shine, but really show up when you do.

    My favourite formation is a gold formation. I found this the most useful as a newer player as it allowed me to spike my favour a lot earlier than I could reasonably push to. So I'd like to see a non-Azaka farm gold formation (Oxventurers is what I use with Valentine sitting in for Prudence). Maybe it would also be a useful series to show how you adapt each formation to each of the main campaigns (doing each character's unique formation would be too much, but a quick run down of each of the main ones plus Tiamat may be useful to help people adapt their Champions to the chosen layout)

    • @randramb
      @randramb Рік тому +1

      It depends a lot on what you consider useful, and what supports you have to go with him. I had a lv9 blue shiny flute on Artemis when I was going past 1k in campaigns and almost to 1200 in TG/Event scaling, but that low he's still hurting bad in trials, where the more power you lose the bigger impact you see from each one (dropping 50-60+ BUD by getting Wisdom restriction in Trials, costing buffers, receivers of buffs and legendaries with Blooshi and Torogar, not counting anything else). and it's during restrictions you need the big numbers, so it's highly account dependent.

    • @tyredack
      @tyredack  Рік тому +1

      Hello! That's right on the line to make it a hard call. At the end of the day if you plan to use Artemis you're going to have to make that dive at some point, so now might be as good of a time as any. A lot of people consider roughly 1,000 to be the point where Artemis starts to take off, but he very well can take off before that.
      My personal opinion, but you should do what you feel is right, is to start investing in him now if you're looking to use him. Just know at that point he's likely not going to be crazy yet, and it especially matter what other positional DPS you have unlocked. If you do, make sure you look at setting your formations different - not making the positionals hit Artemis and instead having as many positionals buffing as many DPS as you can for him to Observe.

    I'm relatively new to IC, so please bear that in mind: Given that the latest Season has reworked the CotH, in your opinion, is there a good use for Catti-Brie and Drizzt together for Artemis' observance? The difference with Nrakk is that his adjacent ability boosts other formation abilities and is not a numerical buff itself. Artemis does technically receive it if Nrakk is giving it to someone with the WIS 14+ like Zorbu or Orisha; he just doesn't have a formation ability that scales with it.

      @@tyredack does deekins DOOM DOOM DOOM choice stop his story of doom from being positional? Why are Jamilah self buffs which require adjacency so should be positional not usurp-able? These kinds of questions just came up for me today in making formations

    How to increase the maximum level of a champion? I'm stuck around e85 as a maximum for champions

    • @tyredack
      @tyredack  Рік тому +1

      That's the "softcap" for levels, meaning anything beyond that doesn't get you any upgrades, just heals the Champion and gives the tiniest amount of a DPS increase per level. Over-leveling does indeed matter for Nova's "The Crew," though. If you're at the softcap and can't level further that means you've set your upgrade to "Levels to next upgrade," so you'll need to change that or use a keyboard shortcut like Control on PC (+100 levels) to override it.

    I refuse to let anyone fall behind and as such must always strive to keep up everyone's iLevels evenly which make Artemis really not that viable for me. By the time his iLevels are high enough for the meta everyone else's will be that high as well and it really won't matter anymore.

    • @tyredack
      @tyredack  Рік тому +1

      *Eventually* Artemis would still be really good in that scenario, but he for sure won't take off like he would otherwise. Still a fun way to play the way you're going, though.

      @tyredack  Рік тому

      Merwilwen does not synergize all that well with Artemis, so I'm curious what you mean.

    • @emmote77
      @emmote77 Рік тому +1

      The only positional Merilwen has is her Wild Shape ability. It's a good way to get champions down to their animation speed - but in the grand scheme of things - it's pretty useless.
      All champions (with the exception of Ishi) have an attack speed that caps at 25% of their normal base attack speed. It's impossible to push it lower.
      So this means any champion that is attacking at animation speed will be doing x4 more damage than without an attack speed boost. That's two zones of progress.
      On the other hand - a true damage positional being observed a few times and you'll have xe20+ more damage easily.
      The x4 from attack speed may as well be zero in comparison.
      Even as someone who uses the Oxventurers for their main formation - I can't recommend people use Merilwen in anything other than an Azaka/Gold farming formation. (Or occasionally some animation speed shenanigans like patron/season chores farming.)

    So...Krydle is a Tank now not a DPS and its been that way since the Baldur's Gate season, unfortunately not long after you released this video.

    This already old and out of date, because Krydle is no longer dps/support, but tank support.

    Omg just got arte and Omg why did I just get arte!

    • @tyredack
      @tyredack  5 місяців тому

      He's a good one if you focus him for sure! Though I should say at this point this video is a bit outdated as a lot more Champions have released that work really well with him. One of the only real downsides to him is that he cannot be used in the most recent Patron, Elminster. I just recently was explaining my current formation with Arty to someone, and good Champions to use with him, so I'll just copy paste that here for you if you're curious at all (warning though, it's a wall of text)
      "Currently I run Blooshi - Artemis - Karlach - Valentine - Jim - Nrakk - Birdsong - Torogar - Nova - Zorbu. You want all positionals to be on Valentine and as many as possible on those with a DPS tag. Some things to note - you'll want Zorbu's Wolf Pack Feat as it counts as a positional for Valentine. You'll also want Valentine to have her Dexterity Feat, as that will allow her to receive Zorbu's Hunter's Pack.
      And as with any Artemis formation, you want as many positionals on as many DPS tagged people as you can. So, in an ideal world (sometimes there are formations you just can't work with), with this group you want Karlach, Valentine, Jim, Bridsong, Torogar, and Zorbu to be receiving everything they can. Zorbu should be adjacent to Birdsong, Torogar, and Valentine (with her Feat), all of them should be within 2 columns behind Blooshi, Birdsong should reach everyone with her Song of Battle, Nova should reach everyone with her The Crew (taking her spec to reach 3 slots if needed), they should all be in Karlach's 2 columns, etc.
      As far as the other options go...
      Seat 1: NERDS is the main option here really. You'll want to use their ult until you get Green, Red, Orange. The problem with them is that for them to really be of use, you need them to take damage to proc Orange's buff. Sometimes you just can't survive that hit, you know?
      Seat 2: Blooshi offers a high potency positional to be observed, overall best output imo. Krydle is an amazingly uniquely survivable tank who offers a positional, but not that high of potency. Lae'zel is a DPS who has a positional, so good for Arty.
      Seat 3: Arty, obv.
      Seat 4: Kent is a good pick, but has been outshined by many newcomers. Antrius offers a pre-stack scaling positional so it can get really beefy, but does have drawbacks in not being a DPS and can be annoying to position. Krux and Karlach are pretty equal with each other and are both great DPS positional options. I use Karlach because she's got a lot of mechanical utility with a great buff while also being good for her affiliation that I'm also working on.
      Seat 5: It's hard to say anyone other than Valentine just because she scales other's positionals and just makes them all more powerful. Briv is a good tank with so much utility it's stupid and just about everyone will have him so he's usable, but won't be the highest output. Dhadius, especially with his rework, can put out some decent positional numbers while also being a DPS himself.
      Seat 6: Fen is a DPS with a positional formation ability, so is a good option. Just doesn't get any crazy good scaling.
      Seat 7: Jim has kind of become the star here with how hard he can scale his positional while being a DPS. Of course, Cattie-brie is a good option too, as an easy to position great buffing DPS.
      Seat 8: Nrakk can buff other's positionals (I take his DEX spec and place him next to Zorbu, Birdsong, and Nova if possible) and he offers a very good positinal himself to be observed, while also offering a good debuff. You'll have to learn how to use his ult tho.
      Seat 9: Birdsong is amazing here as a DPS with an easy to place powerful positional. Makos is useable but doesn't have the greatest numbers.
      Seat 10: Torogar is good. While he doesn't have a positional he is a DPS and buffs Evil damage.
      Seat 11: Nova offers a really powerful positional that can reach up to 3 slots with a spec choice so easy to position for too, good option as a tank for the formation. Strix is a DPS with a positional so is also decent, but her positional numbers aren't the greatest which is ideal for Arty (her debuffs and other buffs make up a lot of her kit).
      Seat 12: Zorbu is a DPS with a positional, so ideal. No one else really contends here.
      A lot of this is just my opinion of course, but I do try to make my judgements based on objective facts 😅
      Hope that helps and isn't too much to digest. If you have any questions just let me know!"
