I really like Kas as a non-restrictive DPS option. He likes evil champions, but he doesn't need them. It isn't a pre-stack, so the difference between Kas and nine evil champions versus Kas and zero evil champions is only 512 times (less than e03 damage difference). Because he makes his own undead, he always gets 10 stacks on his prestack. That's not as many as Artemis and Durge can get maximum, but he always gets them. He doesn't need a bunch of DPS supports with PFAs or ceremorphosis stacks or whatever, so he can run with anyone that's legal in the variant, and his stats are going to be the best availability outside of "you just get to be in everything."
I do like the way he's set up for sure. I'm really anticipating how well he'll work with Minthara, if you're into spoilers you should check it out. Or be a good and wait, either way. :P
I'm gonna stick with Rosie DPS for now but he's fun, problem is that shadow heart, DM, and Evelyn are in slot 6 and 2 of them increase my DPS by over 30, and Rosie pumps higher numbers than Kas and slot 10 is somewhat weaker where most champions only provide e10-15 boosts, and Kas doesn't have deflect missile which is it works it's incredibly helpful.
@@tyredackyeah gonna have to refigure out by entire formation with Minthara. Right now I run like 2 AA and 5 AQ INC, but I MIGHT try doing something with Wyll and making Kas or Rosie BDS with Voronika...
@@makaisenki Giving up Shadowheart does hurt (I don't have DM or Evelyn), but giving up Astarion in seat 10 feels comparable (Astarion is giving me way bigger numbers than Shadowheart right now, but a lot of that is probably from the event buffs). The thing I like about Kas rather than Rosie is that Rosie needs a particular team for her pre-stacks. She wants a team full of younger people, probably younger women. You can build that team and it'll be great, but when a variant restricts a lot of the best ones she's going to suffer from either having fewer stacks on her pre-stack or having to use mediocre champions that give her the stacks but aren't good themselves. What I like about Kas is that he's going to make his own undead and doesn't really care about evil champions much, so if you have a restrictive variant he can perform at almost full power with whatever team you cobble together.

I just don't. 4 stacks of 1,000% multiplicative damage isn't that big a deal. Even an e14 buff at 1000% per stack seems kinda meaningless to me when I'm doing e740-e800 damage. I already use Omin cause I get e30-40 buffs, I already use Vii because I get e30-40 buffs, I already use Jim because e30-40 buffs, and really all I care about with her is the BUD decay reduction, and the bouncing back the ranged/magic above area 1950 where everything is a 1 shot. If I have to use DUrge to revive everyone, and Kas to revive people, and Corazon to oil burst while like La'Zael stuns and stuff etc.

You commited the ultimate sin of making the video 10 seconds too long :-/ The recent champion re/releases have been nothing but awesome. At this point I can reach TomT stage 2000 on my first try. I think what we need is a way to progress beyond 2000+. Gearing up champions thus feels kinda obsolete or not as impactful to me. Would be cool if they rebalanced champion hp, so we could survive stage 2000+ and push even deeper. As always, good video Tyredack!
It does seem like we're heading for an area cap increase as well as higher soft cap levels to maybe get some more HP increases and such in there. May very well be in the near future!
I'm glad they are continuing to put out viable DPS champs for Elminster, since we started without too many. I was sad to see they nerfed his Mortal Pawns ability down to 0.5% instead of 1%, but he is still pretty solid. He's not spectacular, but perfectly serviceable and a good option with great availability. I'm gonna see if he'll get my new player account through Evil to the Core Elminster while Val and Astarion have event buffs.
One thing I think wasnt touched on is how good he seems for newer players, im somewhat new and just slammed him into my extremely budget artemis comp, and he completely blew through my wall.
I honestly believe we have so many good champions now that you literally slow down account progress a LOT by using Artemis. My friend gem farms more than me has way higher ever green ilvls than I do, started a month before me but he is just barely getting to area 2k and I've been there for months and am hitting almost e800 on a budget fast core with non optimal legendaries.
My one worry about Kas: His character model is the Dark Kas who recently appeared in the Vecna campaign, not the original Kas the Champions have been bringing on a redemption arc for a while now. Hope the Kas we know doesn't get retconned or something.
I don't keep up with it as much, but it wouldn't surprise me. This generation of entertainment likes to retcon old stuff so I wouldn't be surprised. You never know though!
Nice to see my own thoughts be mirrored by someone more experienced and knowledgeable. Only disagreement I’d have is I’d put Kas S tier. He may not hit the same numbers at max potential but he’s much less restrictive than Artemis (I don’t have Durge yet), and really that’s more useful. Any dps can hit area cap with enough item levels and the right supports, but Kas doesn’t need the optimal supports which in my view makes him much more useful than Artemis (again, no Durge yet so I’m unclear on his usefulness personally)
He's almooost S worthy, but I don't see him quite there. But don't get me wrong, I think he is really good. Really S for Artemis and Durge is simple because Artemis at the end of the day is the best raw numbers out of any DPS, and Durge has by far the best availability with a good team. The threshold of being the best DPS and the uniqueness of being a DPS that is available for everything get them that S. A DPS would have to have either comparable DPS to Artemis or a unique useful mechanic like Durge to get that spot in my eyes.

I grabbed Donaar because I recently saw an adventure that could only use dragon types and man... He just isn't great. Wish I could have seen this earlier when I was desperately searching for info on events and the champions, I just started a few weeks ago and definitely should have grabbed Thellora

Kas is my favorrite champion the only problem I can see Kas having if you can clear area 2000 without your team dying you can't make them undead Is there a way to prevent this?
Just remove your familiars and only slot a few of the Champions to get them dead. Kas just needs to be in the formation, and you can do it one by one if you have to. The Spawn of Kas is permanent for that run, unlike someone like Baeloth.

Sorry if I’m sounding rude, I’m newer and not able to reach level cap yet. My highest is 1300-ish. So I’m just trying to understand your reasoning. Also as a side note, I keep getting the undead stacks offline even when it’s only very early (sub-500) stages. Dunno if it’s a glitch or something is going on in the offline mechanics that’s giving me the undead stacks.
Was just having some fun using some of the bigger buffers in the game while being able to make them Evil with his specialization to showcase he can kind of work with anyone.

Yeah, I'm liking him quite a bit. The 1% loss is certainly felt, was sad to see that was dropped down.

It is nice getting more serviceable DPS these days, that while they might not be the top-top, they are good enough to be justifiably used.
Ah, I missed the adjacent=Evil spec. That sort of fixes the lack of Evil Support/Tanks if you can get him toward the front of the formation.
I picked that spec and couldn't put in non-evil champs!
And not to get spoilery, he has a new tank coming soon that will be really good for him!
So what I'm getting from this is, unfortunately, I probably want to use almost my exact Warduke team with Kas instead of Warduke.
He does have a lot of parallels with Krond/Warduke, but is also more open than them in his options.

Does this also work on The Dark Urge when you choose the Resist The Urge specialization choice?
He will count as "Evil" even when you take the Resist The Urge spec, yes. Hard to find a good use for it though.

I do think she's a good pick, but like I said, she does have trouble finding a perfect formation. Still, a good pick yes. And those feats are handy.
