    I just put a set of these on my 94 GMC Yukon K1500 2dr 4X4 and as I live in British Columbia Canada, I was second guessing my choice a little. After watching your real world tests with no false claim's of magic. I think the at3 4s will handle every thing I need it to do. Nice job.

    Just got these today. Their great. Thanks for helping make a decision between these, Toyo AT4s?, and Ko2. Definitely great in the snow and ice which is good cause I live in a condo and having snow and summer ATs is not practical. I put 265/70R18s on my 2014 GMC sierra 1500 if anyone is interested,. Fills out the wheel well more and gives me a bit more clearance over the stock goodyears.

    Very helpful video as always! We need more of these! I have a question. I have a Daihatsu terios II. I want to install Cooper tires discoverer at3 but I can't decide between 4s and sport 2. I live in Greece and here our mountain roads are mainly rough with many Rocky parts and snow is a matter of 2-3 months a year and for Northern places. I thought sport 2 is better for me because it seems to be more appropriate for our mountains. But I would like to have an all season Tyre that can deal with snow for these times of the year. What do you recommend?! Oh.. And have a happy new year!!

    • @DaciaDusterTrails
      @DaciaDusterTrails  4 роки тому +1

      AT3 Sport 2 will start testing with us soon with us, it has a closer chemistry to AT34S but an older design. In theory the 4S is the better tire than the Sport 2 who has the same design as the first Sport. Also remember that the Coopers have weak sidewalls, so you need to protect them in sharp rocks.

    • @vaggeliskont5721
      @vaggeliskont5721 4 роки тому

      @@DaciaDusterTrails weaker sidewalls seem to be the weak spot in an otherwise fantastic Tyre like the Cooper discoverer is! You can understand (maybe if you have seen Acropolis rally previous years or if some time you have visited our country) that we mainly have rough terrain. So probably the Cooper Tyre is not a wise choice for us unfortunately. Is there a Tyre you can suggest from your experience that can be strong in rough terrain and can be safe and capable with mud and snow?? Maxxis 980 a/t and BF Goodrich a/t k02 seem good for the job with BF being better for snow. But they are both very expensive. On the other hand Falken wildpeak at/3 seems more strong Tyre for rough terrain maybe but with mediocre abilities for mud and gravel. Also goodyear wrangler at-sa at your chart seems a pretty good Tyre but for some reason it seems to be bad at comfort and rain. Have you tested goodyear? It affects Comfort that much?? And finally let me make a suggestion. I found out about a Chinese brand about a year ago. Linglong. They seem to be a huge Company with growing technology, currently the 3rd largest Tyre manufacturer in China( they are currently Juventus football team official supporter) . Some people I know tried out their tyres and they were very happy. For our 4x4 they bring a Tyre in Europe called R620. I asked about it and I can have it at about 300 euros installed. Google it and if you find the chance maybe you could try it out. It might be really good because as far as price is concerned it is super priced.

    Hi There and thank you for putting out this and your other tire review videos, they are very helpful.
    I'm trying to decide between the Discoverer Sport 2 and the 4S. I trust both tires will do a good job on the road so I'm less concerned about that. The most important parameter for me is their off road performance and reliability on a very rough and rocky terrain with a heavier vehicle than the Duster (I'm with a Grand Cherokee). Which one would say would be better under those conditions?
    The guy at the tire shop says the 4S has a reinforced sidewalls compared to the Sport 2, which should, theoretically, make it more reliable on rough terrain. Is that you experience as well?

    • @DaciaDusterTrails
      @DaciaDusterTrails  3 роки тому +1

      The AT3 Sport 2 is the better tire by 10%, the tire shop guy is bad at his work cause he invents things while we actually cut both tires sidewalls. Sidewalls are identical for both in reinforcement terms, Sport 2 has in fact a slightly larger internal wall circle next to the metal RIM. Sport 2 has better mud and winter performance ;)

    Hey I love your videos. You have tons of great content not only for Dacia owners.
    I have question do you know what actual difference is between Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S and Cooper Discoverer AT3 Sport?
    Sports are just same tire with awesome asphalt ride but are not rated as winter tires or there are some more differences. Right now I am looking for a tires AT for Forester.
    It has to be great at Tarmac (most of time I will drive on asphalt) and they have to be very durable (rough rocky tracks etc).
    Witch tire you think will be better for my needs Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S Cooper Discoverer AT3 Sport Cooper Discoverer ATT or maybe Toyo Open Country AT
    If I get it right:
    1. ATT have superb fuel economy but I do not know how strong they are.
    2. Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S Cooper they are great all rounder just worse fuel economy than ATT
    3. Cooper Discoverer AT3 Sport they are great all rounder I just simply do not know the difference between them and at34s
    4. Toyo Open Country AT very quiet and well performing on the asphalt.

    • @DaciaDusterTrails
      @DaciaDusterTrails  4 роки тому +1

      We thank you and feel free to like/share and subscribe. First there is a new AT3 Sport, its called Sport 2 and has a softer chemistry that gives it better winter performance. Though the Sports are an older design than the 4S, the Sports are based on the previous generation and are missing some thread design improvements and also the shoulder upgrades. We are about to test the Sport 2 soon, but it will take at least 1 month to compile the first data on them and never-mind the chemistry, their design is inferior to 4S not to mention that their chemistry is quite close now - and that means more traction and more fuel consumption. As for the ATTs - they are summer tires and we would not recommend them for winter use as we did manage to get them over a dry winter but they get risky at low temps on wet. As for the Toyos, we only have the ATPlus in Europe and this is different from the American Toyo tire, all we can say is that the ToyoPlus is mediocre here, noting special about it. SO - if you have a winter set and don't do much hard offroad and drive carefully on wet, go for the ATTs as they will get you the best cooper fuel economy. If you want traction in all seasons and a safe AT tire on asphalt, go for the 4S.

    So to get this straight, 1.8bar is ideal for snow and it is better to avoid high spin in deeper snow as to not suspend on belly? Ie it is better to drive at 2nd gear at a stable speed as to maintain some inertia. Correct?

    • @DaciaDusterTrails
      @DaciaDusterTrails  5 років тому +1

      Depends on the terrain lateral incline, or deep tracks in the road, but yes if you don't need 4x4 Lock, then 4x2 is safer along with AUTO. So use 4x2 as much as possible, then AUTO 4x4 and only after as last resort 4x4 lock.

    • @DaciaDusterTrails

    I have used Cooper tires since I used to use a hand tread cutter to improve for pro rally days back in the 70s. The STT was preferred when living in Moab UT for a great all around serious AT tire. My use of them dropped off when Goodyear took then over back around 2021. Goodyear has never been on a list of tires I will use after finding out how they are easily destroyed when off-roading in the Moab area...not on my vehicles; just friends' vehicles. However, these tires do no look to be that great in the video. Admittedly, they might not look that great due to the drive systems on the vehicles, but not impressed. (Vehicle produced by Renault and Dacia has never impressed me.)
    I'll stick with Toyo AT tires and by the way, that snow is really not the bad; nothing compared to the snow I get in the mountains of Idaho/Wyoming.

    Thank you for sharing this amazing video! I own these tires and in the city they have been great with Snow & Ice far superior to my previous all season tires. I drive a 4WD 2007 Honda pilot tire size is 235 70r16 I'm very happy with the winter performance in the city I now can drive uphill no problems and brake stopping distance is also good. Here is short video I did earlier this year I drove through 8 inches of snow no problems. ua-cam.com/video/eOkj3FLV9MU/v-deo.html I'm considering the Cooper winter evolution snow tires because this coming winter I'm planning to go off-road but after seeing this video I am not sure any more. I see you suggest deflating to 1.8b / 26 PSI I guess I will wait to do my own test. I'm really impressed with these at3 4s tires, thank you again I just subscribed to your channel!
