Our Best Rock And Roll Singer As John Lennon Said :" The Best Rock and Roll Singer Came From Liverpool Billy Fury" More Than A Match For Elvis And All The Rest
Died very young at 42 years, like Elvis Presley. The 10" album 'The Sound of Fury' is such a great album, a must for R 'n' R fans with all tracks penned by the man himself some under the pseudonym Wilber Wilberforce
Billy.....sadly sadly missed. He's more than halfway to paradise now and he's in a more wonderous place than we are at the moment. R.I.P to a gentleman and a legend
Like you i was brought up on his music great artist up there with Elvis and the rest of them. what did he die of was it his heart Paul. this is only 30 miles from were i live.
It was one of my favourite favourite favourite guys but if you are there I thought it was fabulous I was heartbroken when he died missing piece and I feel it all remember you will never forget you are brokenhearted when you’ve died and youse are evil and you’re from Liverpool I love Liverpool I’ve been to your statue sat on it and told you I’m not statue only one guy I really wanted to meet alive I never got that opportunityThank you but if I were your songs I’ve still got them even today I hope one day we will meet again thank you God bless you
Superb! Thanks. I’ve always wanted to visit Billy. He’s one of my top favourite singers. I’ve liked him since I was a kid, he died the day before my 11th birthday. 😢
Billy will always be my idol and I know Vince Eager. I’ve seen Vince on stage singing Halfway To Paradise. I was crying my eyes out while Vince was looking at me
Many thanks for this. The Sound of Fury album was written by Billy Fury although some tracks were accredited to Wilbur Wilberforce which was an alternative name Billy used for songwriting. Billy also appeared in a early 70’s film called That’ll be the day starring David Essex alongside Ringo Starr, Keith Moon and Marty Wilde. The date Billy Fury died is a date forever in my mind as it was my 21st birthday.
Thank you for this one Paul. I have wondered where he was, I watch a few of these like yours but I think that no one has ever shown Billy Fury. I recorded him on the TV doing all his hits. Thank you again Paul.
Billy also starred in a film called ,"I've got a Horse" alongside Amanda Barry with whom he had a short term relationship. Play it cool, was a great film also starring Helen Shapiro, Shane Fenton and the Fentones (Alvin Stardust, not forgetting Bernie Winters and a few more well known British faces. I have to admit I was a great Bill Fury fan and 1963,the only time I was to see him live at the Liverpool Empire he was too ill to attend. He was 6 yrs older than myself and may he rest in peace.
Wow he met elvis presley he must have been starstruck 🎶🎤 rip Ronald 🌹 if you ever get a chance visit Dolores O'riordans grave in Ireland here. I have covered it well worth a visit. Thanks Paul.
Theres a lad that performs weekly in Whitby, Ray Randall that backed Billy Fury for a time. Well worth a visit, great show, great stories. Every Wednesday at the Station Inn, Whitby, from ~19:00.
Great Video I live not that far from this cemetery and alway go and look at his grave. It's actually 2 Graves away from Annie Lennox's son's grave. It's a massive piece of rock. She had it brought down from Scotland.
Hi Paul, I live 5 miles from Billy’s grave, and visited his grave earlier this year. It’s a lovely cemetery, with an area of commonwealth war graves too. Paul, if you had’ve looked to your right from Billy’s grave, about 5 graves down, you would see the grave of Annie Lennox’s son. ❤️🩹 Well done Paul, another nicely narrated video.
Thank you so much for all the research and hard work you put into your channel much appreciated. I often wondered where his final resting place was so thanks to you and your exellant research i now know. I remember vividly the song Colette which was my name sake i truly admired Billy's talent so sad he went too soon so handsome and talanted.
Fitting tribute to, not only a great artist, but a genuinely nice bloke to all who met him. Does anyone know why he is buried in London as opposed to Merseyside?
A couple of weeks prior to his passing he attended Joe Brown's Mum's funeral in London and commented on how nice the service and cemetery were. He also had a house in St John's Wood.
@@sisyphussapprentice8976 agree. Absolute legend. He had the farm in Brecon at the same time he had the London home. I think Lisa his partner still lives in the London home.
In West Hampstead there is a very grubby alleyway named Billy Fury Way. Apparently it was given the name in 2011 and an image of Billy was added to a nearby wall. It may have seemed like a good idea at the time but it is hardly a fitting tribute to Billy. I would also mention how much I enjoy Paul's accent. It is too refined to be called Scouse so I suppose I should call it Liverpudlian!
Hi Paul, thanks for doing another great video of a great singer! I was wondering if you could tell me the title and composer of your lead in piano music? Think its a great piece of music! As for Billy how did he end up being buried in a London cemetery? Did he marry a London lass? Regards, Phil
@@interestingplaces1 He committed suicide in Sydney Australia on 25 June 1968, apparently his ashes were taken to England by satirist Willie Rushton and were buried in St Dunstan's Church in Cranford, London.
