      @@chirpy4397 Well, it’s usually safe to buy one or two numbers above that of your shoes. Depending on the brand, you can find the actual size of the insole in inches or mm on their website, which can help a lot. That’s what I did. I measured my shoe’s insole and got my skate slightly bigger.

    On your recommendation, I went to a physical store and talked about a lots of stuff with the skate shop owner. In addition to choosing which one is best for me as a beginner, he helped me with the keeping of skates in healthy conditions as well as how to use them in different conditions. Your videos are funny to watch, and informative, one of the reasons I started inline skating. Keep up the good work and lets make inline skating popular.

    Measuring your foot is so important, but even then sometimes it doesn't work as well as you want. If you have access to a shop that's really the best way to go. There are also some sites that have cheap or free return shipping so that you can try a size and send it back easily if it doesn't work.

    Perfect timing! I am going inline skate shopping with my dad on Saturday! Thanks, Tiago! Greetings from Philly!
    Note on the FR1 Skates: I recommend not to pull too hard on the bow (to slip your foot in) because they can tear off. Loosen them up very nicely and let your foot slip in without putting too much power into it.

    Be careful with the size charts. My feet are 27.7cm long and the Seba size chart sais 43 is perfect...BUT, it turned out to be way too comfortable right from the beginning, so I tried on the 42 and what should I say, they were damn tight and painful painful, but had perfect control. After some sessions with the 42 they are still tight, but also comfortable! And don‘t forget that your feet are getting shorter and narrower when acting on skates because of the tension you build up in your footmuscles.
    Love your skatingstyle, Tiago!
    You made me come back to skating after 18 years break and learn freestyle stuff and having a blast! Thank you for that!

    The 1st tipp is already a tricky one. I thought that I want to do is going distances and nothing else. Maybe a litthe urban. So I bought a Swell. It was a mistake as I'm too big for that. It simply did not hold my feet enough, so I ended up selling it and now I'm rolling with a hardboot Next, a choice which I did not regret. So probably your tip 1/B go for a freeskate is actually a really so good that I would switch the order: Buy a freeskate, start skating it and then you can specialize more.
    Funny though how things turned out: Tomorrow I go to the local skate shop to try on a USD Sway, because I need something with smaller wheels and a soulplate. Crazy, huh? I just wanted to skate distance, now I want to slide again.

    Hey Thiago, about 2 weeks ago i decided to go back to inline skating after 15 years. I'm 35 now but when i put them on, it was like it was never off, of course i'm older, less reckless and I fear more, but i think there's still time for improvement. I was struggling in finding something that would make me exercise and enjoy it at the same time, after renting the skates and skating for 4 hours at the park, i was so sore on the other but had the time of my life, i forgot how happy I'm with skates on my feet, so i came to youtube, found your channel, and yesterday bought my new baby. Here in Australia inline skating is not huge so we don't have a great range of skates to choose from. Bought myself a pair of Rollerblade RB Cruiser, the guy said it is a very good entry level skate. I'm in love with it, it feels incredibly comfortable, responsive and the frame is very sturdy. I wanna thank you for your time you out on this channel, you're doing an amazing work, i hope one day i can learn some of the tricks i see you doing. And last but not least i have a question, the rollerblades are awesome, but i'm feeling when I'm on asphalt or a bit rougher terrain it slows down significantly, at the moment is a good thing so i don't break my self, but if eventually i want to make them a bit faster, what do you suggest? Better bearings or different wheels?

    • @imacat4060

    • @MrXmoda
      @MrXmoda 5 років тому

      Maria D.D the wheel hardness won’t make a huge difference in speed. The bigger the wheels the more speed you can get but I don’t think you I should be needing more unless you’re really an adrenaline junkie. Maybe upgrade the bearings maybe some cats leopard bearings

    I’m a skater from England and I’ve been sharing die about 6 years and I’m a fan of the bauer skates are great for indoor skating, what they do is they take off the plating for the ice skating plate and u replace it for a roller skating plate and attach ur wheels, they’re so xomfirtabke to skate on and I really recommend them for beginners or intermediate skaters! Just be careful that u align the plate to the right position on the share otherwise the centre of balance is messed up though ;)

    Hey, Tiago! You go over the categories and some types of skates that people should think about to know what skates to get; but in the follow up, you didn't mention these categories or what skates are good for which specific choices! Like if I want to commute and have them be easily removable. Or if I want speed or if I want to go for tricks etc. Can we get a another video mentioning which skates are good for the different styles of skaters? Good stuff as always!

    This was so helpful. It's so annoying cuz here we don't have and skate shops but some sport stores hove just exercise ones.they don't even come with spare wheels! 😭 but knowing that I can order them online is useful I'm so glad he told us to measure your feet cuz some brands have different sizes.

    • @JoTribe
      @JoTribe 5 років тому

      Even after measuring your feet try and search on the internet about fit. Sometimes they just put numbers on the thing without any link to reality. For example, I'm using a set of old M12 that should be too big for me (1cm more than my feet) yet they are just about the right size for me (toes barely touching the skate in the front).

  • @secretdaisy6484
    @secretdaisy6484 5 років тому

    That was helpful. No skateshop where I live. 🙁 ordered K2 Pro84 & promptly fell over backwards twice. I put them away & went to a rink and used quad skates to get balance & used to rolling. The unused K2s don’t fit so I have to sell them on EBay. I bought an inexpensive pair of Oxygen skates with smaller wheels. I think they will be OK. Also ordered a pair of Rollerblade Maxxums & I will transition to them when able. I got a very good deal & I didn’t like the soft K2 boot. I’m training with a skateboard to get balance & used to rolling. It’s easier than quad skating for now. I’m an older adult & I refuse to give up. I appreciate your videos & you are really inspiring! Keep up the good work. You’re changing everything. 👍☮️🌞

    I ordered the Twister X, yellow translucent ones. I hope they are ok for beginners. They were the only ones in my price range. What do you think of these skates? I ice skate, but I want to do inline because they close the ice rinks in Japan for half the year.
    I had a bad experience in Japan shopping for them. The first shop only had 24.5 and tried to force me to buy them, but my toes were curved and they were rude because I was a female foreigner, he got mad at me when I said my feet hurt. So I left ashamed and embarrassed. After a year I built up my courage and decided to go to another store, and they were extremely nice and let me try bigger sizes. So after a year of searching I'm excited to get my first pair in 30 years. Definitely try before buying.

    Okay guys I really need some helping picking the right rollerblades and wheels to use.. So I've been rollerblading for about a year now. I am not bad but not great. I know all the basics and can easily get myself around without struggling. I'm comfortable going fast, and enjoy picking up speed. My balance has gotten pretty good, I can skate/balance on one foot for about 30 seconds and other weird things like that. My turns are good including tight turns and turning while crossing over my feet. I'm okay at stoping. I struggle to stop quickly in a tight space like a sidewalk because I don't have the room to do a mini 360 (I don't know the name of that stopping technique) I'm learning how to do hops and jumps and skate backwards. And I really wanna learn more tricks.
    One of the biggest things that's got me struggling to find a good setup and wheels for me is I skate outside and the trails roads and sidewalks are often rocky, bumpy, twigy, etc. I usually find somehwere smooth to skate around in but when I'm at the park I'm always gonna come along paths that are definitely NOT SMOOTH.
    I want skates/wheels that will allow me to go quick, smoothly and will be good for learning tricks, but also have the durability for wonky roads and paths.
    If you have any information that'll help me, please respond!

    The best advice is to go to skate shop and try it, it must be tight and supportive. Many years ago I went to the skate shop and bought my first skate, since my feet are not so broad, the shop recommended me to take a female K2 skate, well it was perfectly fit, I learnt to skate very fast. Many years later, I had stopped skating but wanted to skate again, I bought a pair of China made skates from the internet, but because I had narrow feet, so it is not able to fit my feet tight and snug, there is some space to move around, and it is very bad when your feet can move around in the skate. 2nd advice, is to get a hard shell skates, more support = easier to master the skills, skates like FR3, Oxelo MF500 etc.

    HHHHHHHH. I was going to ask you the same question even after I saw all the previous versions of the video. The choice should be spot on because I'll have to order online (There are no sellers around so no try and see) and I'll have to ask someone to send them to me because International shipping cost almost more than half the price of the skates).
    So I started by doing the most logical thing for me: I bought some old skates from around. HHHHHH. Guess how old: Majestic M12 13 (maybe 1995 model). So, I just got them too learn skating while I'm looking how to get new ones.
    Tiago, je te dis pas le nombre de gamellles que je me suis pris (with protection and all). But, on the fifth skating session, It was finally only one gamelle hhhh and I was looking for it trying advanced stuff.
    Anyway. Thx for the videos and keep up the good work.
