Honestly Divina Commedia is one of my favourite songs by him. He's just so real on that song, his vocals are BARE and his philosophy is packed in his pencil lead. Such great music with content soooo personal. I feel really blessed to be able to witness him grow as an artist. They don't make artists like Kwon Jiyong anymore. Never seen anything or anyone remotely like him.
Excuse my language but the guy is a fucking nutjob. After hearing songs like "Window", "Obsession", and "She's Gone", you just know something is up with this guy haha. Looking forward to his comeback this year!
Thank you for this, Hurraira. A bit too short, though! I hope you react to Heartbreaker and Coup d'Etat as well. Those albums are classics. The absolute best Korea has to offer.

Ugh, this album was a masterpiece but remembering what happened during the promotions of this album, TOP in the hospital, the documentary 😭😭😭 he looked so thin… it was so painful to see him like that. Im really glad he’s now at least in a better place coz it shows how he is glowing nowadays 🥹🥹🥹
At 16:08, the real translation is actually "I'm not alone. No, i'm not, Iye. Good, very nice, you're so admirable". Iye is GD's cat name. Iye in english also means child. So, basically he is talking with his cat reassuring that he is not alone. And cat is his only friend at home

Divina Commedia is probably one of GD’s most authentic songs. not only is the instrumental eerie but his vocal performance is so dark to the point where it’s actually almost hypnotic. you just can’t help to keep on listening, it naturally draws you in. aside from the obvious, which is the genius lyrical content, Kwon Ji Yong is a masterpiece of an emotional performance. you need to see him perform these songs on tour.
I am old enough to be his and your mother so I watched this video from a mom’s perspective and as well as a VIP who’s bias is Ji for many reasons.
I couldn’t help but ache for what his parents went through during that time but the thing is, it is very obvious to me that he is very smart which is why he’s able to tell his mom he’s the answer to the problem. I suspect his mom has the same feeling for him as I do for my daughter which is, total respect and trust for this child of mine. I think that respect reflects back on them and gives them strength.
I think artistic people live on the edge, when you get to the genius level that edge can be dangerous but that’s what makes them geniuses. Each phase makes him stronger, more beautiful. There has to be a little bit of that genius in us too to be able to relate and love his art as much as we do.
If I may Hurraira, don’t look for that dance or act gig, don’t look for that perfect person, just love and respect yourself. Go out there with that beautiful mind of yours and things will automatically happen. Let life happen.

The first time I heard this album, I thought "This is not kpop." He is his own genre, a true genius. I love him for all the different sides of him, some of which seem to contradict each other but is still him. His mind is so attractive. Ok, he is also so hot physically, lets get real 😂!
in this album he really open up about himself and not being the fierce G-dragon on stage, and so much different compared with his previous album. He struggle a lots during MOTTE tour (you'll find out if you watch the documentary later). luckily he looks healthier and happier now. hope you can continue to explore his other album and tours too.

Some Fun Facts, I hope you understand me. My English is not that good. mianeeeeeeé 💛
모태 sounds phonetically like MOTTE, in English means mother's womb.
That's where the name of the tour comes from, a play on words because he officially calls it Moment Of Truth "The End" (MOTTE). And it's Act III because it's the third act in his career.
The USB containing this masterpiece is covered with hand-painted red ink that fades over time, simulating a newborn child from the womb.
It also has his name carved in Hangul with his mother's handwriting and his birth date.
Around the release date of the album's first single, T.O.P.'s sad moment took place. Jiyong changed songs and released Untitled 2014 instead of Bullshit.
And the USB... Jiyong was so ahead of its time that it didn't get the most listened award because it wasn't strictly a digital album. Yes, it seems like a joke. Later they changed the laws about that.
What else... Oh! Of course GD was inspired by Dante's book, not just Divina Commedia. For me, the whole album.

the documentary shows only the smallest part of the album being made, so the songs were recorded and chosen before, unfortunately, cannot know when (he has a lot more written and unreleased...).
Ironically the album suited the documentary and reality at that time too much (once he said it is like a curse)
My utmost respect for him is due to his sincerity during the performances. it is not a secret that not All of the lyrics he has written ever weren't 100% his personal experiences. he feels the music, he loves the music

the "untitled" is the most beautiful one, never get tired of it, it is never not suitable for the mood - it always leads the mood for me.

I bawled my eyes out after watching his documentary and listening to Superstar. I wish he's dealt with his depression/loneliness and not suppressed it. It hurts seeing ppl belittle this genius, this one-of-a-kind human, and all his achievements & accomplishments.
MOTTE act iii concert is literally inspired by truman show. it parts his life as act i (little kid who's dreaming and following), act ii (one of a kind,G Dragon) and act iii (2017 kwon ji yong). the direction, the flow, the song list, everything goes really well. It's like a his own drama directed by himself and allow us to watch and feel about it. such a masterpiece and it's my life-time concert for sure.
(actually Kwon Ji Yong mini album + act iii motte concert + act iii motte documentary is THE art for my life. nothing can top on that)

Untitled is still my fave from this album. Bullshit was supposed to be the title track but he changed it when TOP’s issue happened. He had to record an MV for it and it was so beautiful, it was the perfect title track.
I dont have this album tbh coz I couldnt afford it at that time. But GD is really a genius. Hope his next album will be in USB too!
His lyrics are another level.... Can't translate all the double and triple entendres.... Different layers of meaning that is really cool

1:51 that's for those who tried to approach Seungri. Yeah, I don't call them his friends. GD once said Ri needs to be more careful with people around him, some came to him just to get close with Bigbang. It's understandable since Ri is the easiest to get along with among the five of them.
This album is such a masterpiece, the Coup d'etat album is so good as well.

The private video thing is not that accurate. You can check my community posts - 'pinned post' to see if you missed any BB ones but I don't think there are many. And there are a few that are blocked that I am hoping won't be soon though! :(

Divina commedia is a masterpiece. Even the title of it is genius “dante’s inferno” divine comedy is about going to hell and back literally.
KPOP WILL NEVER HAVE ANOTHER GDRAGON. He was the best thing that ever happened to kpop.

This album is painfully beautiful. Jiyong's mind is so gorgeous. He writes all those bangers but the Kwon Jiyong album is a masterpiece. From Middle Finger Up, Bullshit, Untitled 2014, Superstar to Divina Comedia. These songs seem chill & fun til you dive into the lyrics. Untitled 2014 is him cutting his chest and bares his heart to us. I just want to give him a big hug. Thing about Kwon Jiyong or GDragon he can be anything be it idol, model, designer, influencer, singer, song writer, producer, definitely a very rare artist. His works are so expensive. He doesn't follow the rules he makes to create the instructions & guideline. I bet everyone admires him for his talents.

During this time period GD was trying to focus on himself, Kwon Ji Yong the man not the artist. Everyone wanted GD the artist. He refused to conform to the definition of the Kpop idol by the public. None of the BigBang members wanted to be tied to that stereotype. But that doesn't/hasn't stopped the naysayers
Untitled, 2014 remains my most favorite GD/KJY song. This & Super Star usually leaves me in tears. 😢 especially the live performance 💔
