I think the thing about the whole album isn't about the hits or the charts topping, i guess he doesn't really care, if the album is on #1 or #10.
Actually, he wrote the songs for himself, to understand his thoughts and feelings. He just wants that the people listen to his empty life as a superstar, to his sarcastic life, like a devine comedy.
And that's really sad, all these songs are so meaningful. Probably more than everybody thought. Probably more than someone understand...
