Honda made no bones at all when it launched the Highness CB350 about how it was aimed squarely at Royal Enfield. Of course, after that Honda made no moves at all towards giving us a test bike either. But the promise and specification looked good! Then Royal Enfield made their move, the Meteor 350, which isn’t a direct competitor in terms of format but is the debut of the J-series 350cc engine that will power RE’s range of 350s, the company’s mainstay. So when Royal Brothers of Bengaluru agreed to loan us their for-rent CB350, we felt a wave of highness and elation that we could finally bring you the story. So we sent out our best, Shumi and Varun to find out what’s what.

I am a proud owner of CB350 and definitely stand by TeamCB side😊. The plush riding comfort that makes myself enjoyable in every time I ride the CB350 and sometimes i have no reason to ride the bike other than just for having some enjoyment on the highway riding.

@@shu_mar honda have been offering these long stroke engines for ages in their cb series mate..its not like they came in and started making RE engines
@@mb4077 But then again you gotta admit in this specific case they have tried to create a clone of RE 350, a much better clone actually. Rather than doing their own thing, they tried to ape and better an existing product.
They have the capability to develop a much better motorcycle but they decided to match the specifications of Classic 350 and they "chose" to remain mediocre when they could have done "outstanding".
@@johngalt6459 To be honest brother if you look into their classic cb series that were out since the 60's you'll soon realise that cb350 design is well derived from it..I agree to you that they launched this bike just to target the classic 350 market.
@@mb4077 Honda rivalled Royal Enfield in India but India is a super budget market. If it were not so budget concious, we would have Harley competitors from Honda like the Rebel.

My story
I was going to check the bikes to buy, I accidentally crossed the RE showroom and stopped there, I checked Meteor 350 and tested a ride. Felt in love with Meteor. It's love at first ride. I use to hate the RE due to its vibration and ended up buying the RE😀
Both bikes are best in the segment, however it's really subjective what you like. I feel RE keeps you engaged while driving!

Honda needs to up the ante more for the Indian market, I feel the choices they've made so far with their product line-up falls a bit short in comparison to how aggressive they're competition is in the Indian market. They really need to launch a "wow!" factor bike in India which I think they're definitely capable of but haven't done yet.
It's like Honda is complacent with hitting four's while most if it's competition is trying to hit sixes.
i truly sincerely believe that "wow" factor is undoubtedly the Honda Rebel, been waiting for it too long to launch honestly seems hopeless atp.
CB 350 comes with 2 variants,
And I think traction control at this price segment is a great choice by Honda which will give a confidence to push it to top end 👍

- Glad to see RE really picking itself up and improving with every product they release. Much Kudos to Sid Lal for establishing a brand that has made manufacturers like Honda etc to take notice of this segment and provide consumers with more choice. In that respect, RE is the winner here for me.

Amazing and well detailed comparison! People confused between these two machines couldn't have asked for a better video.
Voice quality could have been better though. I frequently found myself increasing and decreasing my phone's volume. One minute it's very loud and next minute I can barely hear the words.

Honda cb350 has 2 variants. The one feature of Dlx Pro u didn't mention was the odometer and other controls such as trip etc are also on handle bar, which I feel is good if one doesn't want to take their hands off while riding
honestly on meteor you will feel more confident then any bike....first time i rode 350cc bike felt like flying with amazing control and confidence .
During turn u will feel vechicle weight...its very little..

Most of us know H'ness got two varients known as delux and delux pro, where the later got dual tone painting, dual horn and blutooth connectivity.

But I have seen this CB Highness can be booked from VFM Honda Showrooms in Bangalore which is not a Honda Big Wing showroom.. hopefully they would role out based for the bike. It's still in starting phase. Hoping for the best

By the time Hiness will be available in my town RE will launch classic with new engine and at 40K less. No point in going for Honda I will go for the Legend. At my age I prefer a bike with less gear change which can be easily driven in traffic & highway too. Honda missed the opportunity to challenge RE.

I'm in love with CB350, but I would need to travel 400+400km every 6 months to service it at big wind dealer. Moreover pay almost almost 7000 more than Meteor yearly on CB350's service.
So I think for most of the people Meteor makes sense.

What a smooth handling Honda Hness 350 has ............... terrific , you cant compare it with RE Meteor. Hness smooth velvet engine. I accelerated at constant in highway in which I attained the max speed of 129km/h. Nobody can compare the built quality of Honda Engines. For mainly in India it has put slightly constraints like tall gearing etc but it's like no issue.
One of the finest videos from the PD Stable. Its so fine that I came down to comment after the video ended. :) Love you guys.

The leaps and bounds that RE has made in the last few years is commendable.
When we compare these two motircycles,lets also look at the how far RE has come with the J series engine that first came on the Meteor 350.
However, there isnt much of an innovation and improvement in quality from other brands except for the newly launched twins from the Bajaj Triumph collaboration.

Highness is smoother and has less vibrations than Meteor. And also in daily commute in traffic, meteor is difficult to manuver in traffic because of its pure cruise position while CB is easy to handle.
Can we cruise meteor 350 at 120kmph for long distances . Does it damages the engine

I test ridden both RE Meteor and CB 350. Meteor have to improve it's refinement compare to CB 350. Exhaust note thump is lost in Meteor than old RE. CB 350 have most sweet exhaust note thump also.
