The moment other channels on UA-cam began entering the hip-hop/rap sphere, it totally made Nojumper underwhelming. The only leverage Adam had was that he wasn’t signed to a label so there was no outside pressure or contractual agreements stopping him from discovering new or unsigned artists.
HOWEVER, it should be noted that just because these artists were typically unsigned, it didn’t mean they weren’t ALREADY relevant. The Nojumper platform was just a place to go to because it had the attention of kids who requested that he interview their favorite rapper. That’s how it started, he used to just go on twitter and ask fans what they wanna see. If anything, the NoJumper 2016 fanbase was more “influential” than NoJumper itself.

No Jumper was an influential platform for hip hop. Comparing now to early No Jumper is like night and day. Every now and again you were treated to an interview with the likes of Bones, Wulf, Fat Nick etc. but now no new rappers get put on and the content lately only focuses on the spectacle they are making of themselves or some street stuff Adam is clearly out of his depth with. Sad.

@bigdawg7205 Whether you were ever a fan of the artists that came through the No Jumper universe or not, you can't deny the impact they had by shining a light on underground artists in the mid 2010s. Hip hop isn't dead and likely not going anywhere. The platforms promoting it have changed though and become severely out of touch.

@bigdawg7205 That's more reflective of the modern state of the channel maybe in the last 2-3 years and why I've been watching a lot less. He did literally put an entire scene on in the mid 2010s though, very little bullshit in that era in terms of what was driving the content back then.
At this point No Jumper is known more for porn, fighting and internal drama than hip hop. I the early days it was Hip Hop centric, but they pivoted and I'm not sure why Adam doesn't want to admit that.
