The Wale Interview

- Опубліковано 18 вер 2018
- A good friend of mine recently started helping Wale out on the management side and he reached out immediately to get us together on the podcast. Wale was on a bit of a time crunch but he still came in hot and we launched into a conversation about the dangers of drugs

The Gifted by Wale is still one of my favorite albums to date, he’s such an intelligent and inspirational individual. Thanks for this Adam, keep up the good work.
I agree
dude great record, I also loved the projects “About Nothing” more than just about any other pieces of music this decade. Wale is on his own level, his own plane, his own wave, and he has connected with me on a deeper level than almost any other artist. I understand why a lot of people don’t fuck with him and it’s simply because they do not have the mental capacity to understand his message and the way he presents it. I remember growing up, I’d be listening to one of his tracks on youtube and have a separate tab dedicated to googling words, phrases, and concepts he would touch on during a song that I wasn’t familiar with. he literally expanded my vocabulary, my views and my appreciation for music. I get it, certain people don’t want music like this. certain people wanna turn a song on and turn their brain off. just just because you don’t understand or relate to a certain song/artist/genre, doesn’t mean it’s bad, it just means it’s not for you. so don’t hate, just let it be and do you. Much Love to Wale, one of the top lyricist of our generation - thank you for all the music and memories
It's a toss up between Gifted and Album about Nothing. Those 2 are classics
Tell that to Anthony Fantano
aarondchi92 I agree, Album About Nothin as well as the mixtape = classics.
Wale low key one of the most under rated rappers of our time
kKnox DaGoat BIG KRIT as well
one of the most underrated rappers of ALL time
that’s not low key tho 💯
Wale isn’t underrated . His music gets to the people it’s for.
Thank you Adam and Wale! I'm struggling with heroine and today I reached 30 days. I still have urges and feel like I can't do it sometimes. It makes me confident hearing the support from yall. I love your podcasts and vlogs. This one really hit at home with me.

They both are very good. Album about nothing is a special one for me the Jerry Seinfeld effect really seals the deal for me I give that album 8.5 out of 10

Mycal Wendorf facts
Manni Live he is telling the truth, that album was absolutely incredible.
ALL FUTURE RAPPERS WHO GO ON NJ TAKE NOTICE THIS IS HOW YOU SPEAK INTO A MICROPHONE
Nope. Adam likes the guys who mumble and can't keep they're mouth to the mic
It’s especially necessary with Adams shit studio and shit mic set up.
@@kingreese6810 ...wake is ACTUALLY mumbling and stuttering yet you say the other people mumbled? I'm 5 mins in and he's still humbling over his words.
Jumbling

Been hearing of Wale for a long time but not familiar with his work. What I can say is this was a real deep ass meaningful conversation. Aside from making me want to check out his music it made me gain a respect for the human known as Wale. THe intro part about addiction was especially powerful. As someone who has struggled with addictions my entire life that shit hit me hard. For anyone out there trying to get sober only you can make the decision to do so and know you aren't alone. I've been in AA since 2010 but I have other demons I am battling. Nicotine is the hardest to quit but its the least of my worries in terms of addictions. On the 2nd of October I will have 1 year...this time around. Addiction is a messed up disease. My blind homeless friend turned me on to this J Cole song called Friends. If you are battling addiction I highly recommend it. Never got real deep into Cole but that song hit me hard and brought me to tears when he was living in my car for a bit and showed me. Appreciate the hell out of this interview and would like to see more anti-drug content. Not judging anyone but these rappers and influencers can make a difference. Fuck lean, fuck xans, and fuck opiates. I got put on them all by my doctor when I was just 15 years old for some health issues and trauma. I wasn't asking for any of that stuff its what the doctor told me and at the time I had no idea what it was but I think it was one of the things that led down some dark ass streets and some of the hardest things in my life. Would have rather dealt with the pain of my surgeries than to have taken those pills the doctor told me to take but I didn't know what it was at the time. All the drugs are just a bandage for pain and end up numbing your emotions out. Starts fun but it will catch up with you sooner or later.
This was a dope convo. Keep mashin wale ✊🏾
🗣DAWG UNDERRATED💯
#CeazeBred Absofunkinlutely 💯
Facts
HE ALWAYS BEEN UNDERRATED..
Facts
Joe budden was just talking bout this
He looks like future's valedictorian brother
Big Facts 💯
The little brother that was bigger than the big brother
Album About Nothing will forever hold some serious memories for me. I don't really enjoy most of Wale's stuff after that, but he seems like a genuine dude.
He is really is one of the greatest rappers of all time. Ambition was one of the best albums of the last decade easily.
Wale promoting Bellaire lol
He still under Rick Ross so he got to.
The girls on drugs should
Of got a Grammy .. if drake would of sang it the song would be everywhere and shifted the culture
It started with some needed wisdom 🔥
I've been listening to wale since attention deficit and the mixtape about nothing days always feel he is underrated Same with KRIT they should be mentioned more like Kendrick & cole
Great interview.. probably one my favorites.
Yooooo I'm so stoked!!! His latest EP was sick
I love Wale music, grew up on a lot of it . I wish he was appreciated more in some aspects
Adam....I've been watching your interviews as of late and i must say you have my respect as an interviewer
Appreciate you Wale, you been holding the DMV down and Hip Hop since Day 1. First met you when you came to my basketball game in 05' (Oxon Hill vs Suitland) with the spizikes on before they was released. You showed endless love that day and brought the radio station with you. Never forget brotha
More about Nothing is a pure mixtape classic. And “what it look like” off Curren$y album!
Wale spoke with a lot of truth, and somehow remained respectful. Godbless this man. Not disrepecting anyone who doesnt deserve it.
Wale Admitting his Own addiction got my like bro.
this was a great Wale interview, he sounds like he's in a much better place, hope we get to hear more music from him and he doesn't retire anytime soon!!!
apprciate you adam having wale on
Shout out to you for this one. I'm looking at two people who need more recognition.
Enjoyed this interview plus that new EP is 🔥🔥
Wale friends and strangers still one of my favorite albums of all time

John Gonzales 😭😭
Can't be that big of a favorite lol
Must be a new album coming out. Send it to me, I want to hear this “album” you speak of!
The only one of your interviews I can watch
Wale look like Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles 😎
this is a very good classic interview theres a certain section of this interview that is really gem dropping and informative when they touched on the newness stigma of the hip hop game .
Dope Interview/ Contrast & Convo On Point 🅿️
Adam you really keep my head up. I listen to you talk to these rappers when I have no one to talk to. I feel like I’m in a conversation by listening.💖
GLAD TO SEE THIS HAPPEN!
Loved this interview ✌️
Halfway through, this is a really dope conversation.
Adam, you are great at being real with artists even if they are sensitive and or misunderstood by other media outlets, thats why this interview is really good.
Also Wale is very smart and has interesting povs on a lot of topics
Great interview mmg da best meek Ross wale extremely good lineup💯
Facts💯💯💯
i though wale got dropped
Adam is actually one of the best interviewers. Even though I don't watch his channel much because it's mainly mumble rappers on here. But he's great at letting the artist talk, not cutting them off and bringing up interesting points
such a great interview
Cant wait to see what the future holds for Wale. Weather it be rappin, acting or podcasting. He gon get his just due very soon. They still dont understand this DMV culture. Get Q DA FOOL on here next! 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💯
Romy Taylor Gold link, Rico nasty, Q da fool definitely up next
They gotta love him for his ambition! 👏🏽❤

Dope Interview
GREAT interview. WALE is someone to look up to in hiphop
We in here WELCOME TO THE DMV
“GIRLS ON DRUGS” is a song for today!
Love this!
Wale - Girls on Drugs probably one of my favorite hip hop songs of the last couple years.
didn't expect this at all good interview indeed with the skilled wordsmith
Why do people hate wale ?
Deon The Prodigy cuz all it took was one guy with a little bit of clout to call wale corny or lame cuz he actually gives a fuck about his craft and the rap game so now people just hate on him cuz it's seen as "cool" I guarantee u half the people hating haven't heard any of his music
Cuz he boring AF
about time you got a good rapper on here lol now I might start watching on the regular!
Thanks Adam this is the best wale interview 🙏🏽
Great interview
Adam, you getting up there bruh!!!
Why did this interview start with you already on a topic.
Dope interview.

Wale's best interview. You can really tell Adam's interviewing skills with this one - such a natural conversation. He cute too.
Best no jumper interview! I see how you moving Adam!
S/o adam22 thanks for the content provided with one of my Favorite people
His new EP🔥🔥🔥
26:50 nah bro lol. I respect Wale but if he thinks the music industry is the only profession where a worker with actual ability is overlooked then he is naïve about the common man. That shit goes from the top all the way down to retail.
i agree bro
No But He's Right Tho In A Common Job If Your Not Doing Your Job Your Hurting The Money An If Your Not Making Money Your Not Doing Your Job. As Artist You Could Be Amazing At It But People Won't Fuck With You, You Could Be Trash At It Still Making Millions. Be Trash At Regualr Job You Will Be Fired. Now You Can Get Overlooked Because Of Race, Connections, Gender, Political Opinons But Not BecUse Of Your Ability To Do Your Job
1.) there’s a difference between a profession and a job.
2.) he’s not saying he’s overlooked, he’s saying it doesn’t matter how good he is because it doesn’t change how successful he is or how many people like his music, it’s based off how well his team markets him. That’s what’s frustrating. He’s not upset he’s not getting a raise or a promotion, he’s upset because even though his talent doesn’t have a cap to it, a skill set that’s completely unrelated, that he can’t invest time into without sacrificing other thing, is what dictates how successful his blood sweat and tears.
It’s more like if your boss came up to you and said “hey clean that up”
You clean it perfect, but then he pays you for it based on whether or not it rained. You can’t control it, and that’s what decided your success, not the 2 hours you spent mopping the floor.
Only 4 mins in and I love the convo
Legendary
Wale, we love you bro!
