Hey folks, Cinebinge here. We appreciate the emails and messages you guys are sending but there is no thumbnail stealing, there's no need for accusations or anything. We dont own the concept of funny thumbnails, in fact the reactor community is exactly that, a community of friends and we share ideas with each other and make suggestions! My first thought when I saw the same thumbnail design was that you have the same editor, and maybe even that you all knew each other from before you started your channel and talk regularly, living all of you in Canada and all of that. The concept of stealing never crossed my mind and frankly I'm surprised that apparently enough people thought that, to the point you had to make a comment here clarifying the situation.

Burt Young, who played Paulie in the Rocky franchise, was actually trained by Cus D'Amato (who trained Floyd Patterson and Mike Tyson) and went 17-0 as a professional.
According to Wikipedia: Young served a tour of duty in the United States Marine Corps from 1957 to 1959. While in the Marine Corps, he won 32 of 34 boxing bouts. He later turned pro and compiled a 17-0 record under three different aliases. His manager was Cus D'Amato. 🇺🇸🥊

One thing some people forget about this movie is it came out during the Cold War when the Soviet Union and the U.S. were enemies. We lived with the fear of nuclear war breaking out. So it was common in the 80s for movies to have the Soviets be the bad guys, like in Red Dawn and two of Stallone’s movies - this one and Rambo III. On a side note, Stallone wanted as much realism as possible when filming the fights, and Dolph Lundgren actually ended up putting Stallone in the hospital during filming of their fight.

The "chaperones" bit.. at this time, few foriegners visited the USSR, so all VIPs had a KGB unit assigned to watch them as foriegners were officially under KGB jurisdiction.
At the time the movie was made tensions with the US government were high so they played up the fight as a metaphor and made the soviets as the antagonists more than Drago.
For me, the fact that BC Place stadium in Vancouver was the Soviet arena was also kinda cool...

Growing up, our American family participated in a program called "Christmas International House". One year we hosted students from Beijing. One of the two was the other's "minder", who hung around her like a shadow, and was regularly heard touting what was superior about life in China, I felt to remind her "friend" not to consider defecting.
Another year, through a different program we hosted 2 students from Vietnam, but, hilariously (to me, at least) they had a very public falling out(!), and one refused to associate with the other, exaggeratedly stomping away from a trip to a museum with her ("-and I am NOT going to the museum!!" stomps loudly upstairs). This, the minderish one's father was, according to her, "the chief interrogator" for Hanoi's police. She was 21, but acted like a spoiled typical 16-year-old, adorning our guest bedroom with posters and her own fan-art of the lead singer of a band named "Tokio Hotel". I don't mean to disparage her, she was sort of childish, but still intelligent, extremely artistically talented, and not unlikeable as a person. They even stayed at different member's homes. Later on they made up (sort of).
In the former case, it was made almost explicit that one was a minder to the other (age ratio was 30:23), but in the latter, I was only guessing (age ratio 21:18); but if she was, I thought, the powers that be sure made a poor choice of minder!

Stallone had seen an interview with the robot's inventor who mentioned that in certain situations a robot may be better suited to teach autistic children than a human teacher. So, in between shooting scenes the robot, the inventor and Sylvester worked with Seargeoh.

Not sure why you would get hate from anyone. Not like we fill out an application before we're born. Channels and entertainment like this are nice breaks from the chaos where we can focus on the things that bring us together instead of separating people into different 'groupings'.
Never apologize for that endeavor and for creating that short break from reality.

Don't pay any attention to the hate comments Dasha, there are some disturbed people in the world. Don't ever be afraid to show love for your home country. I could never judge an entire country and all its people on the actions of some. The USA has done and does things that I'm ashamed of but I still love my country and I know that there are more good people in it than there are the bad and I'm sure that's true for Russia too. I've only ever interacted and met a few people from Russia and the ones I've met have been great people. Keep your head up and ignore the haters. Keep up the great content.

It was crazy, growing up in the 80s (aged from 5-15, 1980-1990) and having this come out when we were at odds with the USSR. Films like this, Iron Eagle II, Red Dawn, and Red Heat were quite popular....oh, and Ruskies as well.
Then in 1991 I was friends with a foreign exchange student from Moscow. He was cool. Took Driver's Ed so he could get an American Driver's License at 16, even though in the USSR at the time he would have to be 18. He just wanted it to show his friends and tell them he got to drive in the U.S.. But then, over Christmas break, the USSR fell. It was surreal for him to watch that go down while living in the U.S.

Dasha, great reaction! As an American who's been around for a while (including when the Soviet Union still existed), I can say that your insights into movies that have a Russian connection are very good. I always look at it as ideologies may be different, but on the whole, people are generally the same. We usually have the same needs, wants, and desires. I think one thing that people often overlook is that Ivan was under tremendous pressure to perform, and that is why he reacted the way he did when Soviet party official was berating him. Ivan stated that he's fighting for himself, and I think that's something that gets glossed over. And I think Rocky's message about change was meant to be a positive message. That we need to understand one another. I think you're a very sweet, nice person, and you have more fans than critics. Again, great reaction! 🙂

I hope you don't have to deal with too much negativity after this, this movie was made a long time ago and no one should be upset with you for this. I'm hoping you will check out a movie called enemy at the gates. It's a world war II movie that focuses on the Battle of Stalingrad and it highlights a real deal Russian hero I think it's a movie you would enjoy. Rarely ever comment on yt vids.
Been watching a few of your vids recently and have to say a major part of the enjoyment is seeing your views and opinions on things even if it might seem subtle. I like the cultural differences and admittedly it's fascinating.
I'm from the UK. I'm not interested in politics or care that much when I can see past it. Yes this movie is politically driven and it does well showing the good and the bad on either side and the major ego problems both societies face. It has a good message at the end about people who can change.
Now it's not the weight you should carry on your shoulders if you feel any concern because of where you're from. Why? You're not a politician, you're not responsible, the same applies for anyone if they were American.
I see your videos and I see someone from a different place and a different culture. But this isn't by any means a bad thing. F*** feeling any guilt about that because of what the powers that be have done or what's happening.
That's not you and this is a great video. Thanks. Your opinions are great and more power to you.

It's important to remember that this movie came out in 1985.
In 1979, the US was getting it's ass kicked around the globe, and was in a huge financial and social depression. We were being taught to hide under our desks if a nuclear alarm sounded.
Then in 1980, the US hockey team upset the USSR at the Olympics. In the US, sports led the way in our believing that we had a chance in the cold war that we grew up fearing.

Great reaction to this classic 80s flicks Dasha... A fun entertaining action comedy movie you might like (if you haven't seen already) is the 1988 film 'Red Heat' (Directed by Walter Hill who also directed 48hrs with Eddie Murphy & Last Man Standing with Bruce Willis) starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as a Russian police officer who has to team up, dispite their cultural differences at the times, with James Belushi, a wisecracking American police officer, to stop a murderous drug lord.

I'm very glad you reacted to this. Two more Rocky movies to go. I was interested in what your take on Rocky 4 would be. I'm glad you liked it. I would hope you don't receive any misplaced hatred, from anywhere.
This was a very political movie for its time. Cold war tensions were high back then. I heard the Soviet Union had banned the theatrical release. Rocky IV was controversial in other ways as well.
    *BEHIND THE SCENES FYI:*
Sylvester Stallone insisted on going 3 rounds of real boxing to get some good movie footage. Dolph Lundgren was concerned and tried to talk Stallone out of it. Stallone wouldn't budge so they boxed 3 rounds for real.
Sylvester Stallone is a brave man. Dolph Lundgren is a powerful man. After the 3 rounds, Stallone knew he had been seriously hurt. He went to the hospital that night. The doctors asked if Stallone was in a vehicle accident with a truck. They said they had only seen this magnitude of injury from a truck accident.
Lundgren had smashed Stallone's ribs so hard into his chest it bruised Stallone's heart. Stallone had to spend 13 days in the hospital.
The movie studio insurance felt the doctors were correct and Stallone was trying to cover up an "on set" truck accident. They refused to pay the hospital bills. They also took Stallone to court to sue for the alleged truck accident cover up. Stallone brought the 3 round footage to court as his defense. The insurance lost, the cover up claim was dropped, and Stallone's hospital bills were paid.

Back in the 80s there was not just the cold war going strong, but also a controversy of the technological ways of training, both reflected in the movie.
I think the psychology of training in the rough is greater for the mind and attitude. Back when I was in college, the karate training included a practice in the outdoors every other month. We would go out to the hills around the town and usually the instructor would include two or three very difficult drills, like going down a steep hill or our backs, head down, very scary, or army crawl upstream a water stream. The excitement of completing the task would last for long, the self-confidence that gave us knowing we were capable of completing those drills that seemed completely scary before we tried them lasted for years, they had a positive impact in our school, work, even family relationships. I don't think you can get that in a gym.
3:06 Watching a Rocky movie always has a fraction of rom-com. I like that he (the character) is always a goofy romantic.
PS. I love the thumb clip. You look ready to fight. Respect! 👍

Hello Dasha!😊 This is a fictional film. Any negativity towards you is just ridiculous, Dasha!😉 None of the main Russian characters actually speak Russian. An exhibition fight is just for entertainment. It is not supposed to be a real fight. Yes, the coach has to throw in the towel to quit the fight. Yeah, Rocky's raw method of working out looks like he uses a wider range of muscles. Ivan getting the shot is supposed to be anabolic steroids.😉 There can not be a tie. If there is no knockout, the judges vote on who landed the most punches at the end of the fight to determine the winner. Great reactions to this well made Rocky film, Dasha!!!!🎬👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

The 80’s movies had great soundtracks, and I think that is what really changed for the worse.
There are so many movies from Star Wars (77) to Jurassic Park (94?) that had songs that you could hear on the radio separate from the movie. This is another example of one of those movies. Yes it was Cold War propaganda produced by Hollywood, but it still holds up.
I remember in school more than a decade after this movie came out having a discussion about this movie and if it was the best or worst Rocky movie.
