Ivan Drago has the FEWEST LINES of all fighters in the Rocky franchise, and yet has one of the BIGGEST legacies due to his sheer physical presence in the ring.
Yeah even more so than Spider Rico and Union Cane 😂. But I'd say Drago's cold hearted attitude (if he dies he dies) had as much to do with it as his size.
got to meet Dolph Lundgren at a convention a few years ago. during the Q&A, he talked about how when he was hired for Rocky 4, he was still new to acting and hadn't figured out how to pull his punches yet. Stallone directed him to hit for real on a few close ups. Dolph obliged. Next thing, production is halted for a few days because Dolph's punch sent Stallone to the hospital with swelling around his heart. Dolph was worried he'd killed Stallone.
Its often overlooked that Rocky & Adrian left their 8 year old child at home with a robot looking after him at christmas and parents of 2 other children allowed their kids to stay the night 🤣
No, actually Rocky had employees and even a butler in his house, it would be strange if he didn't leave his son with a nanny, but what really surprised me is that when he returned from Russia for Rocky V his son had grown 7 or 8 years old. 🤣🤣🤣
We are full of national pride at sporting events in the US. And major sporting event has our national anthem played before the start. In most northern states that boulder Canada we do play the Canadian anthem too. And in many southern states, there is a prayer just before the anthem also.
The dual training montage, i believe, was to reflect their dedication and heart when pushed to their limits. In the end, both were running on inclines, but Drago hit his limit and stopped, while Rocky had just a tiny bit more as he continued to climb until he reached the summit. That is how it played out in the fight. Rocky had just a bit more in reserve when both men were exhausted. But this fight had a very costly price, as revealed in the next Rocky film.
Thumbs up:)...but I'm gonna have to respectfully disagree. I don't think Rocky had more in the tank...I think he he always has nothing left but still refuses to quit.

Drago / Dolph Lundgren (Swedish) was never actually a boxer. But he has 4th dan black belt in Kyokushin karate and was the Europe's champion in 1980-81. He also has a degree in chemical engineering and speaks 7 languages - apart from still being an actor The wife in the movie (Brigitte Nielsen) is actually Danish, and was married to Sylvester Stallone at one point
Dolph Lundgren (Drago) is a trained martial artist. He had not really learned how to throw fake movie punches, so he would occasionally hit the other actors quite hard. Carl Weathers (Apollo) got legitimately upset and threatened to quit because of Lundgren's aggressiveness. Whille filming the fight at the end up the movie, one of Lundgren's punches hit Stallone in his chest, and his heart bounced against his sternum. He had to be emergency airlifted to the hospital with swelling of the heart and an irregular heartbeat, and he spent 2 weeks in intensive care. Though Stallone clearly recovered, the situation was so dire that a priest was sent in to give him his Last Rites because they were afraid that he might die. Stallone got into incredible shape for this movie, but admits that he likely pushed himself too hard. He claimed that he was living on only toast and coffee everyday, and he often felt so lightheaded that he might pass out. He would even do hand stands in the ring in between shots while filming Rocky's fight with Drago to increase the blood flow to his brain and keep himself from passing out.
A couple of interesting Facts about Dolph Lungren aka Drago: 1. Dolph Lundgren might just be one of the smartest men in the world, let alone in Hollywood. After graduating from high school with straight A's, he spent some time in the United States in the 1970s on various academic scholarships. Lundgren has attended Washington State University, The University of Sydney, Clemson University, The Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and The Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Sydney and was the recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship at MIT 2. Stallone first rejected the 183 cm Lungren for this roll but Dolph sent in pictures of himself in boxing shorts and Stallone hired him 6 week later. Stallone may have regretted taking on Lundgren when filming for Rocky IV started as during one of the tapings Lundgren sent Stallone to the hospital. Lundgren and Stallone decided to spar, This ended with Stallone taking a body punch from Lundgren that put Stallone in the hospital and insurance companies thought Stallone was hit by a car, not a person. lol

Hi Biss, I am with you, I liked this one better than the last one! love these first 4 movies. I hope you will go through all the movies and into the Creed franchise as well. I look forward to more Rocky with you! Thanks for the fun!
If no one hasnt brought it up yet, the training in Russia was actually filmed in the USA during the Winter in Wyoming. For the final fight, filming moved to Vancouver British Columbia where there is a large Russian metropolis. Many extras were hired and some received costumes to dress like the Russian military.
I watched James Brown live at the city fair in town. It was a great concert. Considering it was a local fair and not the state fair, he was the hardest working performer. It was a couple years before his death. A lot older than he was in this movie.
So excited to watch this reaction. I hope you enjoyed it Bisscute. I'm about to find out. I remember going to see this when I was 10. I still can't stand Paulie. However I really like the brotherly friendship between Rocky and Apollo and was so sad about Apollo's death. Dispite that depressing moment. The movie is fantastic, and some great music in the soundtrack, but hard to beat Eye of the tiger. Fun movie facts: The fight between Rocky and Drago was filmed at the PNE Agrodome in Vancouver BC Canada. Only an hour from my house. So I thought that was very cool. I'll say it for every one of these Rocky series reaction videos: Tony Burton was the secret MVP of these films. His scenes were so emotional and intense and I remember all of them. This movie was his best performance however
8:35 "He's gonna get smashed in the face. Ooh, my favourite flowers!" 🤣 It's stuff like this why Bisscute is one of my favourite Reactors. ❤ 9:22 🤣🤣🤣 Truly one of The Greats. And this levity is nice, considering what's about to happen. 😱😭
4:53 "You see, I fight so you don't _have_ to fight, 'cause I want you to use your head for somethin' instead of a _punchin'_ bag, like _I_ do." And _this_ line, I think, is the main reason this is the last movie I've _watched_ in this franchise. This scene makes a key _point_ that it seems like _subsequent_ movies in this franchise have opted to _ignore._ Rocky knows, in the eyes of the world, he's the heavyweight boxing champion of the _US._ In the eyes of the world, he's synonymous with _boxing._ And, indeed, boxing has been very _good_ to him. But it's also _cost_ him things he has no hope of ever getting _back;_ things he would gladly _exchange_ his history with boxing for. According to the Association of Neurological Surgeons, 90% of boxers suffer a concussion at some point during their career, because human beings are not naturally _adapted_ to keep recovering from one heavyweight head-blow after the next. They undergo extensive _training,_ but the unavoidable fact is that training can take you only so _far._
8:54 Of course, _this_ was a mistake. Rocky was able to best Apollo in the _first_ movie because he had undergone a training regimen specifically _for_ Apollo. Then, in the _second_ movie, Rocky underwent training specifically for a _trained_ Apollo, and it took a lot more _out_ of him, but he bested him _again._ Then, in the _third_ movie in the franchise, Clubber Lang had undergone a training regimen specifically for _Rocky,_ while Rocky had undergone a _general_ training regimen with no _regard_ for Clubber, and Clubber bested _Rocky._ But in so doing, he gave Rocky the lesson in _humility_ he needed and he committed to a _new_ regimen specific for fighting Clubber _Lang._ Then, when they got in the ring a second time, Rocky bested _Clubber._ So here, Apollo has undergone a _general_ training regimen, with no customization from an analysis of _this_ adversary. Apparently, Apollo has not learned his _lesson._ It's not enough to undergo _training._ You have to undergo training specific to your _opponent._
Rocky 4 was the first of the franchise I saw in the theater. I was 8. Watched it 10 million times on VHS as a kid. Probably not the best, but absolutely my favorite.
Biss is really on the Rocky road right now. People say that the Rocky (as opposed to Creed) films go downhill from here, but I hope Biss at least sticks with them long enough to get to my personal favourite, Rocky VII - Adrian's Revenge.
See when apollo came down from above before his fight,he was standing getting applauded and cheered, all the while behind him was a big golden bulls head, rocky always blesses himself before fights so apollo was always going to die for the praise to the golden idol
Things in life still happen this way. Romance is not dead. it depends on what you believe in and who. It's has to be an unconditional relationship. You should look up Rocky Marciano, a undefeated heavyweight boxer 49 wins 0 defeats with 43 knock outs. He was not very tall, but had stamina because of his training and his boxing style. Love you Biss hope you enjoy movies that get to the heart and emotions of our human culture. Be safe well healthy humble kind always...
I knew you would like it. I love them all. If I had to put them in order of my favorites, it would be 1-4-3-2-6-5, and I love 2. Sylvester Stallone said that Rocky IV could have killed him after things got a bit too real during filming. His co-star, Dolph Lundgren, hit him so hard that he ended up in intensive care; I guess that's what you call dedication to your craft, or just crazy. In real life, Sylvester Stallone got married to Brigitte Nielsen, aka Drago's wife, but it only lasted 2 years. They also made another movie together called Cobra (1986). I'm glad you have enjoyed all the Rocky movies. I hope you watch the last 2. I always enjoy your reactions.
In my opinion, the greatest underdog movie if all time. The odds were stacked against Rocky in every way and he truly avenged Creeds death with the victory. I love this movie and in my top 10 of all time.
Apollo did a lot of talking at the press conference, but Drago did the same in the ring. Drago had his hands down to show Apollo that he could take his best punches. It was a demonstration of the difference in power between the two. When he fought Rocky, Drago came out swinging. That was a sign of respect for Rocky.
The thing to remember with Rocky is that when he wrote the first one he was a broke actor trying to get it made (He had to sell his Dog who he bought back and who played Butkis) and he turned down a lot of money for the script because they wanted someone else to play Rocky. So it's basically the story of Stallone himself looking for a chance as an actor which is why it's so emotional and personal to him.
Fun fact, Drago’s wife in the movie was Sylvester Stallone’s Real Life Wife when this Movie was made and there were some Conflicts during the movie because if it!
I love this movie. Can't wait for you to watch the rest of the Rocky films. Also I'd love to see you react to Cinderella Man. It's one of my favorite boxing movies of all time. It's truly amazing
1. Overall rating from me: Rocky III, Rocky IV, Rocky, Rocky II Rocky V. 2. This was an important time for the USA. Reagan. It's once again part of our world.🤬 3. Apollo's death didn't seem to affect you as much as others. 4. This was filmed primarily in Wyoming and Victoria, BC Canada 5. IRL Dolph actually cracked a couple of Sly's ribs, so filming had to be delayed so he could recover.

Then, in the _third_ movie in the franchise, Clubber Lang had undergone a training regimen specifically for _Rocky,_ while Rocky had undergone a _general_ training regimen with no _regard_ for Clubber, and Clubber bested _Rocky._ But in so doing, he gave Rocky the lesson in _humility_ he needed and he committed to a _new_ regimen specific for fighting Clubber _Lang._ Then, when they got in the ring a second time, Rocky bested _Clubber._
So here, Apollo has undergone a _general_ training regimen, with no customization from an analysis of _this_ adversary.
My favorite Rocky movie, love all the synth music and the montages
Continue a saga o 5 tem diálogos incriveis, e é primordial para as sequências que vem a seguir, ótima reação! aqui do Brasil!
Well said! She should continue!!!!
My favorite Rocky movie 😍 I watch the training montage everyday for inspiration, for real
Biss is really on the Rocky road right now. People say that the Rocky (as opposed to Creed) films go downhill from here, but I hope Biss at least sticks with them long enough to get to my personal favourite, Rocky VII - Adrian's Revenge.
Honestly... Love your reaction, not just to this one, but for all of it. Beautiful ❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
My favorite character was always Adrian with rocky a close second,so no matter which rocky I just wanted to see them together
I love your passion reacting to this.
1 is the best film, 4 is my favorite. I love Dolph and I love the little bit of cheese. They do juxtaposition in this film so brilliantly.
See when apollo came down from above before his fight,he was standing getting applauded and cheered, all the while behind him was a big golden bulls head, rocky always blesses himself before fights so apollo was always going to die for the praise to the golden idol
You have become my favorite reactor! I can't stop watching!
"I don't like watching Rocky get hit." That's practically his strategy in all his movies.
The child in Rocky 4 is Sylvester Stallone real son but I don't know if his son is still alive.
When Drago. Threw rocky into ropes end of the first round . That's when rocky knew he was on riods. He gave him the look of shame and disbelief.
Rocky Balboa is by far the best Rocky movie! Can't wait to see you react to it Biss!
Rocky will live on forever Great Reaction
In my opinion, the greatest underdog movie if all time. The odds were stacked against Rocky in every way and he truly avenged Creeds death with the victory. I love this movie and in my top 10 of all time.
Apollo did a lot of talking at the press conference, but Drago did the same in the ring. Drago had his hands down to show Apollo that he could take his best punches. It was a demonstration of the difference in power between the two. When he fought Rocky, Drago came out swinging. That was a sign of respect for Rocky.
8:38. What are your favorite flowers?
Paulie just has a hard time expressing himself.
9:00 your guess almost broke my heart, knowing, what is about to come....
Rocky 4 is probably my favorite as well.
your reaction to this movie was amazing
Fun fact, Drago’s wife in the movie was Sylvester Stallone’s Real Life Wife when this Movie was made and there were some Conflicts during the movie because if it!
Omg!! She said, "Stand you little shit" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Most places play both nation's anthems before a sporting event.
You are really more entertaining than watching Rocky....... I love your heart, your emotions and how you are submerged in the story!!
I agree, so very true 😊
I love this movie. Can't wait for you to watch the rest of the Rocky films.
Also I'd love to see you react to Cinderella Man. It's one of my favorite boxing movies of all time. It's truly amazing
1. Overall rating from me: Rocky III, Rocky IV, Rocky, Rocky II
Rocky V.
2. This was an important time for the USA. Reagan. It's once again part of our world.🤬
3. Apollo's death didn't seem to affect you as much as others.
4. This was filmed primarily in Wyoming and Victoria, BC Canada
5. IRL Dolph actually cracked a couple of Sly's ribs, so filming had to be delayed so he could
recover.
Brazilian here, I love this film!!
