I miss the old Hockenheim layout. Even with the chicanes, the track was fast and looked amazing on TV. Sad that it's been essentially neutered into the dull shadow of its former self we see today.
People seem to forget that the 1000hp is only while the hybrid is deployed. Also, the modern car would be 3-5 seconds slower per lap in race trim due to having to charge the batteries. The old car is maximum push at all times.
I have played around A LOT with rfactor on the old hockenheim track and i can vouch for this one, the top speed of that Ferrari are extremely accurate. The Arrows had the highest straight line speed though, at 356.5 kph before the first chicane. This is extremely accurate simulation 👍
I think that the 2000 Mclaren was very slightly faster than the Ferrari. I think you putted it just because they were Champions that season. I feel like the 1999 Ferrari compared to Mclaren was better than in 2000.
It’d be interesting to see modern f1 on the old track, but the new version provides better racing. Germany should have a race, there’s plenty we could get rid off
Nice to see that the pinnacle of motorsport has improved lap times by under 3 secs in 1/4 of a century. Yes I get that's due to rule changes over the years but it's still disappointing.
Safety was an issue, also it's tricky to televise and have fans viewing out in the forest section, was all too expensive at the time to resolve those issues
Mesmo com uma potência máxima menor, os carros mais antigos possuem toda a força constantemente, enquanto que os modernos tem a bateria que descarrega nas retas. O fator peso potência tbm ajuda nisso
A comparison with the 2001 cars would have been more interesting. The tire war made the cars much faster compared to 2000. Moreover, the BMW-powered Williams' were mightily fast here.
All the guys saying the ferrari on slicks would be faster than this or even the 2020 cars are absolute idiots. They modern cars may be heavier but the 2004 just doesnt have the downforce. Accept it or not but ur mods are nit reallife
Of course it would. The 2024 would have around another 500lbs more downforce. Way more aero and corner speed. Haven't even added the fact the 2000 car has earlier grooved tires. There's about 6-7 seconds of Laptime there. As much as I prefer v10s to the current Hoover's, let's be realistic.
The superior and matcho driver of the 2000s would make up for the differences in performance between the two cars . Especially in slower technical circuits like Monaco
Saludos!!!
F2000 was still a threat with grooved tires
Pesa como 200 kilos menos tambien
@@elpatolucas22 y asi claramente va a ser mas rapido el f1 actual 🧠

We all do
Lol this was no contest, as soon as a corner popped up. The F2004 is more of a challenge.
But..but with slicks F2004 would be 10 seconds ahead 🖕🤓
@@nastyguy3841 there's a guy who posted 1'28 on this layout with F2004 slicks
@@nastyguy3841nerd get a life
@@nastyguy3841Slicks F2004 mod is OP. A real slicks F2004 would be slightly faster or closely matched to the 2020 cars.
@@luca_bagnoli i know the sims may seem to display that but i still doubt a chasis and suspension thay old can hold up to modern tech
F2000 is way more beautiful. Besides sound.
Not bad considering the difference in power, aero and tyre grip, those skinny wing v10s were rockets down straights with long ass gear ratios
People seem to forget that the 1000hp is only while the hybrid is deployed.
Also, the modern car would be 3-5 seconds slower per lap in race trim due to having to charge the batteries.
The old car is maximum push at all times.
Now both slicks
Yeah why'd you use 2000 and not 2004? 04 put out like 950 and had way more grip.
agree
Probably because the F2004 never ran Old Hockenheim with it hosting its last GP in 2001.
@@JDHMotorRacing that makes sense but still this was never gonna happen they should run it back
@@JDHMotorRacing Exactly
I preferred to use a car that raced on the old Hockenheim track. We had F1 GPS on this track until 2001.
Didn't realize the diff between the tires. Today's fat slicks makes this comparison nearly unfair

That was a great track, really miss it.
In fairness , 2000 f1 cars would smoke 1976 cars by a much bigger margin (same 24year gap)
do it again with the ferrari on slicks
F1 from 2000 looks small compared to McLaren…
Yes thats right
It is. Current F1 cars are HUGE.
Compare F2004 with McL38
This hypothetic race. 2023, Austrian grand prix,Red bull ring Ralf Schumacher Williams BMW: realism..
Now put slick tyres + DRS
now can u pls try F2004 with modern slick tyres, W11, MCL38 on Nurburgring full layout??
Noted

It would help if the simulation would be done by people that can drive.
I’d still rather see the 2000 car
If we make this track test using motorcycles (500cc VS MotoGP) the new model destroy the "old school". The "Green Lobby" is destroying the cars....😢
Would be cool to watch a real race between these two cars versus this fake one.
It’d be interesting to see modern f1 on the old track, but the new version provides better racing.

I also miss Germany on the F1 calendar
Please bring back an old Hockenheim track into current calendar.
That's impossible because old Hockenheim doesn't exist anymore. Those sections are forest now.
@mcerberus7053 that's why chain saws were invented

It's only due to the tires...
Why did they have to get rid of the old Hockenheim layout 😢
I wonder the same thing too

Not as much as you would think, Barichello was pretty quick on low downforce tracks and those aren't exactly drivers tracks..
Just put Slicks on F1 2000 and then test again ;p
Bet I know which one sounded better though ?
Give the Ferrari slicks!!!
Put the Ferrari on slicks
If the driver was Schumacher yes, can
2nd best track ever, old Monza the best
F2004 should have been the car
No MP4/20
Why don’t they run the real cars and find out, what’s with the CGI images, that doesn’t prove anything.
The sound and lightness of the 2000 car makes it more exciting to watch.

like to see a comparison of current vacuum cleaners to 2004 ferrari with equal weights, same tires.
The F2000 cant beat the McLaren MP4/6 from 1991 how is it going to beat the 2024 McLaren
