We were so saddened to hear about Dolores O'Riordan's sudden death a few days ago. Zombie (which she wrote) was a huge song when we were kids, we've always loved it, and it's been on our list of songs to cover for awhile. We dedicate this performance to Dolores.
I remember seeing The Cranberries in concert ages ago. Recordings couldn't capture how incredible her voice was. I'm gutted she past. Thank you for doing this beautiful tribute to her.
the original interpretation by Dolores O'Riordan transmits all the anger. but for me, this version captures all of the sadness of the song. thank you for this!
3:00 - 4:04 😱 The cello has completely penetrated my soul. This is crazy how a musical instrument can make you feel emotions across few notes.. I think the cello is the best musical instrument to make you feel the sadness and the pain. It hit my soul, wow. You guys are talented. Amazing cover.
2:40 to 4:00 is extraordinary. Both are incredible but the cello is just singing right into my soul at this point, he's just completely consumed by it playing that part. It brings me to tears listening to it at full volume. Incredible cover of the song, thank you.
Aint that the truth young person, the cello always knocks people out because its the closest to human voice,if they ever figure out how to insert it into rock music the world will explode.
What's so beautiful about this duo is that you can sense the love between them, this channel is my only subscription. I wish I could find that kind of love again. This loneliness is killing me. I'd love to find that special someone with whom I can create music, since I sing, play the piano and compose my own songs. I'm 35 years old and I'm so.. jealous of these couples who have the same life goals and passions, but at the same time.. I'm so fricking happy for them.. I'm just like.. Where do they find each other? This couple makes these songs so beautiful that it makes me cry.
The cello is soo on point, and the tenderness in the piano is something I only wish I could aspire to as a very average pianist. Well done guys, that was beautiful.
BRAYDON WERNER *Justin's burnt ghost smiles as he approaches Braydon. They sing Zombie as they are slowly pulled away by an unnatural force whilst reaching out longingly for each others wounded hands.*
BRAYDON WERNER (nods) it was just my way of showing respect. I've got a few covers I did on my chan, long ago, some are ok, some are horrible I don't know what I was thinking. I keep saying ill make more but that has yet to happen. Thanks for the banter my friend.
The juxtaposition of the cars flying by right outside the window while they are making incredible music is in and of itself art. You can see the emotion and love for the music in their body language. To be able to see these two different words simultaneously is amazing.
I've never heard a piece of music that moved me to the point of uncontrollable tears, yet I'm not sure if they are coming from joy or sadness, such divine connection to your instruments... what an experience.
I cannot stop listening to this fantastic arrangement. The deep bass note played on the piano at about 4:03 and 4:10 were magnificently timed and perfect. The cellist's performance is off the charts. Just an incredible duet and display of talent. Must go back now for an encore!
The way these two lose their sh*t while playing this (in the best way possible) is so amazing to watch! What an awesome feeling it is to completely lose yourself in the music. So beautiful to watch!
Brooklyn Duo's piano and cello covers are some of the most amazing that I have ever heard. They hit the heart. All their covers make you feel all the emotions a song has. It makes you hear the talents behind the artist of the original. Not every song can sound good in a cover with a piano and cello. But an artist that can create a song that sounds amazing no matter how it is played is an artist worth applauding
The way the cello sounds is simply human, the performance it’s amazing but the way this instrument transmits sensations is out of this world. Can’t be more proud of being a cello player. You two rock!!!
Thank you so much for paying such a beautiful tribute to my sister Irishwoman, Dolores O'Riordan. I was deeply touched. It is a beautiful arrangement and played with such feeling. The playing on both instruments is wonderfully poignant but, on this occasion, I have to say that I was so impressed and humbled by Marnie's piano playing. Also, as I suspect you had not arranged *Zombie* before - you did a wonderful job on arranging and performing it so promptly. It is a fitting tribute to a talented artist but I know that Dolores herself, would be terribly chuffed at the idea of Juillard Posgraduates paying tribute to her!! The origins that created *Zombie* are very moving and very brave too. It was, as I'm sure most of your readers will know, written by Dolores to pay tribute to the brutal killing of two young boys in Warrington in the UK by the IRA. Following her death, the father of one of the boys paid a most moving tribute to Dolores for her enduring musical tribute to his son, Timmy. Rest in Pace Dolores - your music lives on, not least by Brooklyn Duo. Again my thanks from all of us in Ireland. Mary, Dublin, Ireland.
I've no musical background whatsoever. 58, and STILL trying to learn the guitar..............................but I pop in to watch and listen to you two, or a bunch WITH you two playing damned near anything...............................usually have my eyes wrecked with wet after a few notes. The passion is amazing. You obviously give it your absolute ALL, and it shows, and sounds like it!!!! Just wanted to say I truly appreciate you and your efforts! You make my evenings good, and my days better. Thank you. Dolores.............truly a loss. She was such a talent, and a joy to listen to. Wishing her well.
I am beyond grateful for finding these beautiful musicians here on you tube!! I play piano by ear, can't read music but am pretty decent at it! I've been lost without a piano to play and recently pulled myself out of homelessness and am ready to get back to the things I love and can't live without... These people have re inspired me to find a way no matter what to find a piano and play!! I absolutely love the way they play!!! Perfect, perfect, perfect...
I can say just WOW, it's amazing how you have been able to mingle the two instruments. At the begining cello plays the voice and piano plays the bass, then they exchange then they play the voice together (+ the piano the bass of course) and it penetrates in your soul
Sometimes I just love listening to stringed music without words, I love to listen to the instruments themselves sing the lyrics. This is beautiful. So sad she left too soon.
We listened to a lot of your music when my son was an infant because the cello would calm him down at night, and I've probably heard this song in particular about 100 times. It still gives me chills head to toe. You guys are so ridiculously talented. There are a lot of great covers of Zombie out there, but this one is really special. Bravo.
I am in tears, even as I write I am having trouble controlling my emotions. You guys have done an AMAZING job to invoke the emotion that drives this song. I grew up listening to this song; at first it was just the hit of the moment. Eventually I became interested in understanding the lyrics and realized what this song meant to her. If you really want to honor Dolores, in her name please dedicate this song to all the children that are growing up in a war zone and those (veteran and civilian alike) trying to reintegrate into society. Thank you
How do you both play besides each other without dropping your jaws in amazement of each other's abilities? 🤔 i for one think that would be a task in itself. Love what you do.
à partir de 3.00,le violoncelle pleure ..........je suis fan de vos interprétations !!!On a beau être un homme ,je pleure à chaque fois que je l'écoute .
I just can’t stop listening to this. The cello coupled with the grace and tenderness of the piano is just a masterpiece. You can tell this tribute meant a lot to them, but especially him. You can see it in the emotion that he plays with. Love how sad this is. Should have used this in the Army of the Dead
You do a fabulous job of honouring Dolores with this cover. As a musician of twenty-plus years, and someone who has covered this song among others of hers many times, you have nailed it completely. Thank you for this.
I have but two regrets regarding this.. - Why did i only find this now... when this was posted in 2018? - Why can i only givet his 1 upvote? This is magnificent!
I've rewatched this a few dozen times now..... Thank you @Brooklyn Duo for this magnificent ouverture in honor of the beloved and deceased Dolores O'Riordan! I believe that (re)making music like this is a true mastery, and the utmost form to show respect, in the extent of your skill!! Again, Thank you!! Magnificent!! Beautiful!!
does anyone else see the love they have for each other while they are playing their instruments- they are almost in sync at taking turns admiring one another
There is no better combination of two instruments and the way they're played by these individuals are living proof!! I've known a lot of people who can read music and play anything, but they just can't play with true depth and emotional content, like these two and so few others do!!
You two are blessed beyond words. The way you are able to capture such depths of emotion makes chills run up my spine. The chemistry you have with each other is a delight. Delores would be breath-taken. Thank you for taking me away to another world for a bit ❤️
Remembering Dolores on this day - her First Anniversary; and listening to Marnie and Patrick's wonderful tribute. Thank you again. Mary S, Dublin, Irelandxx
This is just amazing. I am a pianist but I only dream of having accompaniment like this. You both are so fortunate to know each other to perform duets together. In the opening I first felt the cello was playing too low in the register but as the song progressed it became a masterpiece of arrangement and performance. Many may not appreciate the piano as much but I do. It takes great experience to play piano to that level of expression. The cello was truly magnificent. All in all this must be the best instrumental of Zombie out there. I am 64 years old and seldom play much anymore but if I had a friend that could play cello on that level along with me I would rededicate my efforts. I want to thank both of you. If either or both of you arranged that performance you are beyond mere musicians. The angels in heaven will delight in hearing this performance.
OK, when you "slurred" that cello note at 4:09 my heart just overflowed with emotion. How does a brief snippet of music make me need to rewind and replay it over and over while tears sting my eyes? Amazing power.
This is one of the best things I've ever heard. So much feeling and energy, I love you both so much, thank you for being here and sharing this perfect covers!
Beautiful. Dolores smiles upon you from the clouds above. This cover put me in tears. I can believe such a unique singer with such a powerful voice can just vanish like that. I remember when I first discovered Zombie. It really touched my heart to the point where I learned it myself so I could play along with her and the band. R.I.P
So beautiful. I literally have goosebumps hearing this. You both play with so much passion and love. I only heard one or two other artists who played as beautiful as you do. To play difficult notes and songs is good but no practice can make a piece so beautiful without passion and love for music. Your music is proof for that. Totally amazing!
i think its very profound brooklyn duo that you created this adaption of the cranberries zombie for piano and cello . there are no words for the loss of somone sometimes she always looked sad but her voice will stay with me forever its the only way to honour her beautiful legacy as you have done . i will continue to listen to her because shes extraordinary indeed and ill keep listening to your piece because its beautiful. sharon in australia
So beautiful, it gave me goosebumps! You both play with so much passion. Although Dolores is gone from this physical plane, her music will live on forever. May she Rest In Peace. ❤️
Of all the majestic cacophonies, to manifest in sound the aching heart wretched by the wars, tragedies, and foolish ideologies of man, this was the first song to whisk my mind out of the troubles in Belfast so bleak back then; it made me feel there were others, in the silence that felt like me and wanted peace. a perfect fitting tribute.
We were so saddened to hear about Dolores O'Riordan's sudden death a few days ago. Zombie (which she wrote) was a huge song when we were kids, we've always loved it, and it's been on our list of songs to cover for awhile. We dedicate this performance to Dolores.
Brooklyn Duo WAIT SHE DIED?
Sublime, Dolores O´Riorda´s song.
Nicole Dugan yeah, earlier this week x
I remember seeing The Cranberries in concert ages ago. Recordings couldn't capture how incredible her voice was. I'm gutted she past. Thank you for doing this beautiful tribute to her.
😔
It feels like the cello is crying.. What a beautiful cover
Perfect response
Perfect description
Idk about the cello, but I am!
It’s sounds like the cello is in pain and crying at 3:15. Music is awesome
the original interpretation by Dolores O'Riordan transmits all the anger. but for me, this version captures all of the sadness of the song. thank you for this!
I completely agree. It's my experience exactly.
The Bad Wolves version captures the anger, this version captures the sadness.
The sadness, the truth ♥️
nailed it, perfectly said
Dolores's version sounds like wanting to fight, and this sounds like giving up.
As an Irish woman who grew up listening to the Cranberries thank you for this. May Dolores rest in peace now.
I'm Brazilian and has always been touched by this wonderful song! ❤❤❤
at 3:00 that Cello solo was a masterpiece. i listened like 5 times.
ImStricken06 just 5?
i'm messed up the replay button

Ja wunderbare!!
He has the bow of destiny.
UNBELIEVABLE! Geez, what Amazing Talent these 2 Have! Just BEAUTIFUL!
Played with such immense feeling and emotion, beautiful.

Absolutely true ... wow
it gave me chills
I know right, that seriously had me in a trance that did.
It doesn't sound like it but that piano cover is also very hard to play
Love the cello for sorrow.
2:40 to 4:00 is extraordinary. Both are incredible but the cello is just singing right into my soul at this point, he's just completely consumed by it playing that part. It brings me to tears listening to it at full volume. Incredible cover of the song, thank you.
This cover is probably one of the best tributes ever made. This needs to have more views!!!! Love you guys
@@amydecker86 Can't agree more! That cover sends shivers down the spine.
Is true.
I honestly think that it’s the best cover tribute ever
Pure beauty in my ears
Aint that the truth young person, the cello always knocks people out because its the closest to human voice,if they ever figure out how to insert it into rock music the world will explode.
You can see the emotion in these two the entire time they are playing. It is beautiful.
You have a very special connection. Thank you for the music

What do you mean "again?" Most of us will go to God wishing we had it once.
The cello is soo on point, and the tenderness in the piano is something I only wish I could aspire to as a very average pianist. Well done guys, that was beautiful.
You go for it!
..... *Bursts into standing ovation*. That was absolutely beautiful you two. Wow.
BRAYDON WERNER *Acknowledges Braydon and claps ferociously as if challenging him to a clap off*
BRAYDON WERNER *eyes widen, claps so quickly a fire starts* (Justin later died from his injuries)
BRAYDON WERNER *Justin's burnt ghost smiles as he approaches Braydon. They sing Zombie as they are slowly pulled away by an unnatural force whilst reaching out longingly for each others wounded hands.*

How can 4 open chords be this powerful!
I've heard enough. Instant subscribe!
The most beautiful performance I’ve ever heard.
Why am I crying? What’s this feeling? Can we have people like this play for children in schools. This was just amazing
I've never heard a piece of music that moved me to the point of uncontrollable tears, yet I'm not sure if they are coming from joy or sadness, such divine connection to your instruments... what an experience.

The way these two lose their sh*t while playing this (in the best way possible) is so amazing to watch! What an awesome feeling it is to completely lose yourself in the music. So beautiful to watch!
3:20 filled ne with a rush. I'm nearly in tears. This piece is so amazing. And was do passionately played! I can't stop re-playing

My husband downloaded this version and this it what I walked down the isle to Sept '19.
It grabs at all the feels!!
This deserves more likes!
Nice, very cool~!
This is going to be my isle walk song too 🖤 8.14.22

Agree wholeheartedly. I've been listening to this rendition since the day Dolores died. They are such wonderful musicians.
Thanks!
Your Cello and your piano are able to sing. You touch me with your notes and your soul. Chapeau

Powerfully moving
still the most beautiful thing I have ever heard, I have never seen such passion
I have but two regrets regarding this..

Wow! This is amazing. The cello!
Thank you for leaving a few seconds of silence at the end. It helps you appreciate the perfection of this performance. Wonderful.
Ahhhhh.....what? Dude...slamming!! So much depth & struggle displayed!! Wow! Big time guys. Must've felt good!
I long for a connection to another human like the one you guys have through this beautiful music.
My goodness. It is beautiful to watch you two play. I can literally see the music moving your souls. Love it.
Beautiful cover and RIP Dolores. Thank you so much for your beautiful tribute and for keeping her legacy alive :)
Beautiful
The day my daughter gets married I’m going to fly you over to Australia to play at her wedding. You guys are amazing 🙏🏼❤️
Love that piano sound
I've rewatched this a few dozen times now.....
Thank you @Brooklyn Duo for this magnificent ouverture in honor of the beloved and deceased Dolores O'Riordan!
I believe that (re)making music like this is a true mastery, and the utmost form to show respect, in the extent of your skill!!
Again, Thank you!!
Magnificent!! Beautiful!!
This piece of music sounds absolutely "stunning" played on Piano and Cello!! Thank-you for sharing this beautiful performance!!
Couldnt agree more.
Its a beautiful song but also very difficult to play i think. Its got such powerful highs and low, but this is magnificent!
Your music saved my life
Mine too ❤️ I hope you are doing well.
does anyone else see the love they have for each other while they are playing their instruments- they are almost in sync at taking turns admiring one another
I’m 2 years late and just now finding this channel. Watching them admire each other while playing is so incredibly beautiful to witness ❤️
Making Dolores very proud, Great Video.
I feel like the music flows through both of you like a vessel or slave to the music. Wow the emotions being carried through.

One of the most beautiful pieces that I've ever heard
Just want to say I had this song playing at our wedding for the boys to walk down too! Great work!
A beautiful tribute

rohan I wonder how many really know what it’s about ...
This has to be my favourite thing on the whole of the internet. Just wow !
OK, when you "slurred" that cello note at 4:09 my heart just overflowed with emotion. How does a brief snippet of music make me need to rewind and replay it over and over while tears sting my eyes? Amazing power.
Goosebumps, tears, the lot. 👏👏👏👏👏 music is the language of the heart
Omg that sound at 3:34 this version is MAGNIFIQUE
This is one of the best things I've ever heard. So much feeling and energy, I love you both so much, thank you for being here and sharing this perfect covers!
It send shivers down my spine, it was so beautiful. Stunning tribute, thank you. ♥
Stunningly beautiful...it makes me cry every time I listen to it.
I appreciate how the "vocal" portion of this alternates between the cello and the piano - very well done.
So many covers since Dolores O’Riordan passed and this is by far the best! Thank you for this calming melody.
Beautiful. Dolores smiles upon you from the clouds above. This cover put me in tears. I can believe such a unique singer with such a powerful voice can just vanish like that. I remember when I first discovered Zombie. It really touched my heart to the point where I learned it myself so I could play along with her and the band. R.I.P
Can't*
Wow, Wow, just fantastic.
Thank you for this. I was moved to tears. Love from Cape Town.
i want to walk down to the isle to this whenever that day may come. thank you for this masterpiece🤍🤍
wonderful with rain sound !
I don't know why music like this makes me cry, but this moved me. Thank you for that experience. Beautifully done.
Great, just love the part between 3:10 to 3:40, the slow, wailing glissandos and when you guys transition back to the hook.
Magnificent performance! More please.
I have no words to explain what I felt when listening to that.. The reaction of you two performers about the music is stunning.
My son sent me a link to you. He knows how i loved the Cranberries. Your video and your great talents bring joy to me. Thank you!

May she Rest In Peace. ❤️
Tammie G for Animal Rights music sure has a way of bringing people together
I got some chills from this, not gonna lie. I wish i could play the flute like that guy plays the cello.

3:08 really got me. 😭
