I don't really think that they can fit every thing into this one game though. I would understand if they actually planned for a trilogy cuz it's such a big event. I can't really see how they can put all the characters and all the events that would happen in Ragnarok so it's kinda concerning. Hope they don't rush it.

In Barlog I trust, and if he believes Eric Williams will do justice by this final installment of the GoW Norse anthology then I know he will do a great job. Cory Barlog seems like such a down-to-earth, chill dude for someone in his position. What other game has their studio’s creative director and lead game director sit down for a UA-cam interview on a somewhat modest channel this far ahead of a game release? In my opinion, this is a display of good faith, quality work, and passion for your project.

Needless to say, Cory is a refreshing figure in the gaming industry when it seems like there are plenty of other people/corporations that are trying their best to bring it down.

You don't need Cory's trust, Eric is at SMS as long as Cory or even longer. He is part of the franchise since the beginning like stig who took over from Cory on GoW3.

So glad they're doing the no cut camera again. That was one of my favourite parts of GOW 2018, just immerses you in the game and makes you feel like you are there.
I disagree. Immersion breaks when you die or pause the game. It will never be as amazing as movies when it comes to one shot.

I was initially very worried about how this is the last game on Norse but when Cory gave the reasons it settled me down. If I understand him, considering this game is much longer than the first, it’s almost 2 games in one? It’s like watching LOTR fellowship of the ring on one day and then watching the 2nd and third movie in one go the next. It’s longer but still as condensed.

Yes. It will be very concentrated and nice experience playing 2 game one after another i assume which is amazing.
Personally i'm very worried because they've teased sooo many things in the first game that to deliver in every single one of then in only one game without it feeling cheap or rushed seems impossible, no matter how talented the team is

For those that are curious, I think the time stamp where Eric Williams comes in the Raising Kratos documentary was at 49:20. Just like Cory said, he steps into frame, realizes the camera rolling, and tries to step out hurriedly. Funny to think years later, he'd be revealed as the succesor to Cory Barlog's God of War.
Personally, I JUST finished the game and I just want more! Beautiful game in its story and gameplay. Can't believe how it ended, though, like, it was just begging for a sequel!

Eric looks genuenely happy when Cory talks about him being the only one that could carry on the torch. Must feel good after so many years of working hard.

I thought Cory's metaphor of the complexities surrounding Kratos and Atreus' relationship as ripples in a pond was great and helped me understand why it's only 2 games greatly

You know I thought they were going to make it trilogy even after the interview they did at the end of the reveal show .. But hearing it from Cory's mouth cleared all the doubts I had about it being two parts. On the other hand what he said actually makes a lot of sense and I am glad we can experience everything they have to offer in next installment rather than waiting another four years for a story to wrap up. Thank you so much for bringing them up it was very informative and entertaining. I'm subbed !

Dude congratulations on scoring such a big interview! This is absolutely huge for your channel and God of War fans everywhere. I think its good of Cory to kinda sit in with Eric during interviews too since Eric doesn't seem super comfortable which is understandable.

Yeah. He worked on every God of War game. Cory only worked on 3 games. Gow 2 & 3 and 2018. Cory didn't direct Gow 3 but he was involved with it.

I don't think I wanted to get a Console to play the God of War games but the closest thing is getting a PS3 for God of War 3 but still I Wanted to get one. Also remember that my TV couldn't support the PS3 so I had to go into my Parent's Bedroom to do it. It didn't even have HDMI! And yet I played RDR2 in Spain with a TV similar to the one I had in 2013 or less and it worked just fine.
If this doesn't get reported as news by other channels I'm gonna lose it. The most passionate channel about GOW interviews the very two legends that made it happen. They really do care about their project if they do this instead of approach some big PS channel that doesn't target the realest of fans.

I trusted Eric Williams since I saw him in the presentation but seeing him with Cory Barlog knowing each other and hearing about the things that the whole team planned out together hyped me so much and gave me confidence in this game. To hear Cory, the only God of War director to leave us cliffhanger endings in the franchise, say that spending the time to make three games telling one story would be "too stretched out" is funny to me.

@Pony Trash I understand where you're coming from, my dad feels the same way, I grew up with the GoW series up until 3 and my dad always used to play it with me, for him it's more of the nostalgia and Kratos ripping and tearing but from my viewpoint you have to see that Kratos was trying to leave that life behind, after he killed Zeus he got his revenge and that's all he ever wanted since GoW 2, and at the end of 3 he got it. GoW is basically just a new chapter in his life, him trying to be a father instead of an angry killing machine, trying to leave that life behind to be better for his SON, I personally liked the 2018 GoW, the gameplay mechanics totally changed too which I could understand put some people off like the fixed camera angle, also the new upgrading system but in essence to me it's just like they basically upgraded the upgrading system to a level up system, I feel like most people hate it because of its rpg gameplay elements but me I love it, I'm open to anyway they improve GoW
I just realised I've only ever played Cory's GOW games. GOW2 was my first GOW game. I never got myself a PS3, and then I played the latest GOW. Ragnarok will be my first GOW game directed by someone else... hopefully.

My guess is that Cory is aiming for another start to the series with a new mythology that's the actual reason for closing the norse mythology in this sequel.
I'm 44 hours into the masterpiece known as God of War Ragnarok. Watching this interview you did with Eric and Cory again is so much more enlightening when you have the "behind the scenes" experience that comes from actually playing the game! What a spectacular game.
