@@paulrichards6894 yeh its hard to not put him as best in the world currently on that performance, and I think he might get rated higher than their best from recent years aswell (arrogate and American pharaoh). They tried to go with him a long way out too, and he just motored away within himself. Easy to get hyperbolic but he seems pretty special to me.

As an Australian horse owner and fan I must say this horse is a Freak, We will never know just how good he could be as he is a stallion & worth 200 million so getting insurance for him would be exspensive. Horses like Flightline will maybe never be seen again maybe never.

Great point about the price of insurance! I think they would race him if they could , the owners are racing guys, not as much breeders ( though they are now) it would literally cost them money instead of making it to race him next year..

True, hundreds of horses by Seattle Slew (or Tapit or Storm Cat or Galileo or Northern Dancer or Dubawi or any highly successful sire) are duds. And there are Hall of Famers like Skip Away and John Henry who came from modest bloodlines. But a LOT more top horses come from top bloodlines than from modest ones, which is why prices for well-bred/well conformed yearlings can top a million dollars.
It is well established that breeding affects whether a horse is good on dirt or turf (or mud); at sprints or longer distances; is slow maturing or precocious. Affects...the correlation is not absolute. Breeding is a gamble, but it's not totally random.

At least with horses like Zenyatta they raced her 20 times so you could actually see how good the horse really was.. The early retirement and early breeding the industry does now has taken the real meaning out of the sport of horse racing. It's Boring.

This monster gets better every race. Next up, of course, is the Breeders’ Cup Classic in November at Keeneland in Kentucky. Sadler said after that, Flightline could go to the Middle East for next year’s rich races in Saudi Arabia and Dubai. Sadler also said “Ownership is interested in racing him next year.”

@@kevinpantera4429 he also went undefeated the next year, set a world record that still stands today, had a walkover, broke his own record multiple times, and broke a track record at a major track as a 2 year old. It doesn't matter what happened in the Belmont. Nothing can take away from the fact that he had one of the greatest racing careers in history and his level of talent was generational.

I really don't know how to explain that ! well I think we just may see the next super star ! this horse is a really big and strong looking horse and everyone was worried about him rating ?? I guess they didn't have to he blew the field away. To those skeptics who weren't sure Flightline could get the 1 1/4 mile distance I'd say he proved emphatically that he could. Complete domination over some good Grade 1 horses. Really looking forward to the Breeders Cup Classic.

Prat took it out and just showed it to him.
That was wonderful thank you to the owners John saddler the trainer and jockey Pratt for allowing us to injoy this horse.
Great training job this horse was always freakishly fast but now relaxes much better 1 year later which makes him virtually unbeatable at any distance from 6furlongs out to classic distances. Guessing the BC mile may have 14 in the field to dodge this MONSTER!
I don't know about that last prediction. For one, Life is Good and Jack Christopher will or should discourage some connections from trying the Dirt Mile. For another, he just won by 20 and by 25 over the 3rd horse. That leaves a lot of room to run 2nd for a big purse in the BC Classic.

@@controlleddemolition9112 Jack Christopher is a one turn horse, the Haskell proved that he isn't the monster around 2 turns that he is sprinting around 1 turn, with that said I actually see him trying to take on Jackie's Warrior in the BC Sprint. As far Life is Good, he's already won the BC dirt mile last year, his connections have been pointing him to BC Classic, ever since he flopped in Dubai Pletcher has been slowly stretching Life is Good back out to 10f to get ready for the big matchup between him and Flightline. They've been pointing to this big showdown all year, they know it's what everyone wants to see because the truth of the matter is very simple, Life is Good is the only horse on this planet that might be able to pull off the impossible and wire this field (with Flightline chasing). He's got the kind of early speed that if he gets loose on the front end with a moderate pace at a speed favoring track like Keeneland, no one is gonna catch him even Flightline. Now I'm not saying he's gonna win but he's got the only true chance of beating Flightline and Todd Pletcher knows this, trust me Life is Good is taking on Flightline, they're gonna make Flightline earn the BC Classic.
@@anthonyr3800 As a fan, I'd like to see Life is Good vs Flightline in the Classic. I agree with your analysis. If any horse can beat Flightline on the front end, it's Life is Good. If you put LIG in the Classic, Flightline might go off at 2-5 instead of 1-9. It would make Flavian Prat's job much harder. He won't want to get caught up in a suicide duel nor will he want to let LIG have it his own way for too long.

I’ve been going to the track since the early 70’s. I’ve seen the best of the best since then. This super⭐️is the by far the best I’ve ever seen. Better than those last 4 triple crown champs. Prat slowed him down from 36 MPH to 31 MPH at the wire. Could’ve easily broken the track record held by Candy Ride. He just doesn’t win races, he K.O. 🔔🥊 the competition. Prat doesn’t even need a crop for this once in a lifetime ⭐️. Nuff’ Said!

This first brought to mind Secretariat's Belmont and second Rachel Alexandra's Kentucky Oaks with respect to a horse demonstrating clearly they are the best of their group. Wow, just wow. @@danwolfe238 He doesn’t even look like Secretariat , but he does look like and reminds me of the legendary Dr.Fager, who possesses the World Record for the mile in 1:32 and 1/5 under 134 lbs. Epicenter is a very nice and talented horse, but I think he would be in a little over his head against Flightline.

Timeform is not a pure speed rating. It is a form rating. He gets the figure because of his margin of victory. Therein lies the flaw with Timeform. You can beat a group of horse that run 2:03 and get a high rating. Had the race been competitive, such as a half length win, his Timeform would be lower. The BSF is a better figure. Further, suggest you check out the number of horse that have run sub 2 minute times over 10 furlongs on the CA circuit and compare them to the East Coast. 2 different worlds.
@@bbmtge Timeform uses both a time element and a lbs/length margin element. The margin component is more important than the time anyway. A horse can run 10 seconds below course record pace, but if it beats a group 1 field by 10 lengths in doing so then the performance still deserves to be rated highly. The whole discipline of handicapping is based on pounds per length, which is what Timeform ratings, WTR ratings, RPR's etc are all based on as well. Races are run at different paces on different days, not every race is run like a time trial, especially outside of America. Horse races are tactical a lot of the time and therefore not specifically run to beat the clock. A horse might run a poor overall time because it was held up in the pack off a slow early pace, but still put in a world class performance by smashing the rest of the field by a wide margin. It has nothing to do with them not being capable of running a fast time.
Beat a Dubai World Cup winner by 20 lengths and hard help. Frightening and very special
potentially , the Greatest since Secretariat , even though he has never contested the triple crown , Flightline is very very rare bird , Dubai World Cup winner left toiling like a second rate donkey that gives a good measure of what he hammered , the Cup Classic looks a formality nothing can beat him in that

For a horse that let's be honest must have some issues to be si lightly raced at his age, that race right there was REMARKABLE. Mad respect to Sadler for the training job he has done with this horse. And to think there were people who wondered if he could handle mile and quarter. Me being one of those. Can't wait til BCC

@@loupasternak If you rarely watch horse racing and are wondering why he slowed towards the end, it’s because his jockey basically slowed him down by standing up and pulling on the reins. This frequently happens when a horse is dominating a field.

I have stepped away from following horseracing and looked at the calender and noticed first Saturday in November and I know what that means. Breeders Cup Classic. Watched Flightline's wins and my jaw kind of dropped but still skeptical. He might be the "Real Deal". Watch the clock and how the race plays out. This might be SPECIAL.
I had been looking forward to seeking Flightline again when I saw he was entered for the Pacific Classic and it was worth the wait. What a horse, the big question now is 'better than Frankel? I think he could be but no mention of that race on At The Races website .. WHY???

I normally stay out of GOAT debates, but whether you look at margins of victory, speed figures or the "eye test", this one might be the GOAT. He's raced five times, winning four of them by over 10 lengths under wraps. He broke slow and was checked twice in the Met Mile and won by 6, eased up late. Here, he could have demolished the track record if he was pressed. I don't know even know how to assign proper speed figures to his races. He's beating 100+ Beyer figure horses as if they're donkeys. If the Dubai WC winner, Country Grammer, ran a moderate 100 figure (keep in mind that he finished 5 lenghts clear of the 3rd horse), then he just posted an "impossible" 140 Beyer Figure in a canter. The only single-race performance close to this might have been Secretariat's Belmont.
@@davidmullen4763 until this horse had won 14+ races without being beaten then can't be compared to Frankel. He made some of the best horses in the world look average. Plus flightline carried 8 stone 12 in this races whereas baaeed carried 9stone 8 when he won the judmonte

When I watched this replay it brought an immediate comparison to Secretariat's Belmont.Still consider that the greatest race ever by a horse.After seeing this it's got to be second for me.

@@thetraveller485 My only concern is that BCC is honestly run. Meaning no one goes out there running a deadly fast first half to burn Flightline. Yes he's proven he can rate but that wasn't first class speed he waited behind today. That maybe the only way to beat this horse, go :45, 1:09 and see if he can lay off and run like he did today. But if someone runs next to him and makes him work there are no guarantees. However I don't think there's a horse in the country that can touch this horse right now. I'll take Flightline- Epicenter-all trifecta right now.
I haven’t seen anything quiet like this since Arrogate’s Travers Stakes win in 2016.
Arrogate in Dubai, Gunrunner in the Woodward, Ghostzapper Met mile/BC Classic, Arazi in the Juvenile. Many big winners
@@signoresantinoburnett1169 Arrogate broke the track record in the Travers. Yes he had a poor start in the DWC but to me the Travers is his best race. As for Gun Runner I forgot about that one probably because he didn’t face anyone in that race.
Would love to see Flightline run on turf but I can't see it happening.

Possibly but then we're taking about a dirt horse vs a turf horse. It's simply harder for a horse to run on turf compared to dirt, but yes currently Flightline is the highest rated flat horse in training, absolutely incredible performance.
Okay, only that I have some certainty that the limit of this horse is towards the legendary, the exclusive group of great champions. I think he inherited the big heart and carb magnificently the blood heritage of grandparents and great-grandparents. If I'm wrong I apologize, but this one runs and runs very seriously, I assure you that if any challenger is not well concentrated and very well prepared, he is capable of destroying him or morally cowering, of letting Flightline be consecrated on the tracks for taking care of reputations many will avoid confronting him, that I think will happen is my opinion and I respect the others very much. If it is going to be exceptional, it must first prove it, therefore, we have to wait, but I suggest living this possible moment as special and unique, because without wanting it, we may be seeing and with unforgettable memory one of the best horses of our lives.

You can tell it's over in the first 300 yards. I mean, just look at the first run by the stands and watch Flightline's stride rate compared to every other horse. That poor horse on the rail is gunning about 1.6-1.8 strides for every ONE stride of Flightline's to cover the same ground. Perfect efficiency combined with a will to run. Reminds me of Ruffian. Game over.
