Nice to see a bit more about how the pastels and weathering are applied. Discussion is good, but show and tell is great for those looking to see how it is really done. The 'Beast' looks fantastic!
Interstellar Modeler If it wouldn’t be too much trouble, could you suggest a list of paints, brushes, plastic snip cutters, base coat spray paint, etc.? For the Pegasus, Galactica, and Cylon Basestar (new Battlestar series). I was into assembling and painting Warhammer 40K and Warmachine/Hordes figs and vehicles about twelve years ago, but my modeling box containing ALL of my modeling supplies was “lost” in my last move when I bought my house.
@@00xanawolf00 Hi....Brush sizes: 000,0,1,2,3 and a #4 flat brush. If you're figure painting figures you should invest in better brushes such as sables but for rough painting synthetics would be good. Lots of brands out there,, Davinci brushes are nice. I would try Michaels or an art store as they will have them separated by prices. As with most things the skys the limit if you have the pockets for it. I have found the moderately priced brushes at Michaels work just fine. For spray can paints and primers I recommend Tamyia (finer mists). I use an airbrush now for most everything and if you're interested in a good solid airbrush I highly recommend Badger's Patriot 105 along with an Iwata compressor. Their jet compressor is under $200.00. Mr. Superclear coats for clear gloss and dull coats are great. I don't have any particular brand of sprue cutters, Tamyia makes accessory tools that are reliable. Hope that helps.
Absolutely brilliant my friend, great weathering.I intend to get this kit but i will paint some of the panels in a light and dark grey just to bring it out more and also dry brush the raised details in white, just to pop them out then weather
Phenomenal job!! As a side note, being the SF and NASA/JPL geek that I am, it would be really cool if a highly detailed model of the Curiosity Rover would be made available.
I really enjoy your channel and your builds. Would have loved to see you light the Pegasus with the photo etch for the window on the trench, really looks incredible. Between LED Tape and pre-wired with proper resisters (Available at HDA Modelworx) it's getting a lot easier to light kits! All the best, thanks for sharing your techniques and builds, Big fan of your channel and subscribed of course!
Great job! I appreciate the before and after weathering, and your wash usage suggestions. Although I'm still beginning, I've found your pastel application helpful, and will give my hand a try at the wash (it's similar to my miniature painting days, and it may be more familiar to me for my current project). Again, thanks allot for your share!
Hi my friend i will do.The effect i want to produce is,if you look at a P-51 Mustang or any bare metal finish you find some panels lighter and some darker.Just random panels only, not too many.Keep up the good work ok.
In the front section of the ship I ended up applying it panel by panel, especially to those I wanted to darken. The panels are much bigger here making it possible to do that. I also found, however, that the wash came out more uneven when I tried just brushing it all over. That simply could be poor application on my part. For the center, engine and landing bays it was simply brushed on over the whole area. There's a lot of detail in these sections so it wasn't a problem. Hope that helps, Oggie
Testors Metalizer Steel was used for the hull and the Metalizer Magnesium for the darker accents and detailed inserts. Pastels and washes were then used to add shading and variation along the hull plates. As for store recommendations....I assume you mean online retailers? I think Culttvman.com is a great resource. I also use modelstrainsoftware.com for LED and lighting needs. Thanks for watching.
I wanted mine to look new and right out of the docks. I ran out of mine and only did about less than a quarter of the painting. The paint looked too dark so I'm looking for paints like yours. By store recommendations I mean local paint stores and stuff like that.
theiankid 02 Well I'm in the San Diego area and we don't have a ton of hobby stores but my favorite is Discount Hobby Warehouse. I'm not sure if they're a national chain but the one in our area is well stocked.
Thanks everyone! I appreciate the kind comments. Weathering is the thing I enjoy doing the most.

I also show a bit more of the technique with my Cylon raider and Colonial Viper videos. Thanks for watching and your nice comments.
Great looking ship and you have done a awesome job. Just orded my first Galactica to build.
Gorgeous job! Your video has convinced me to buy the Mobius model kit version instead of the pre-built Eaglemoss version.
Good choice, this model is very doable and nicely made. I think you'll enjoy it.

Great job on the weathering! Really makes the ship "pop"!

Thanks Gary for the kind comments. Sounds like a good plan! Would love to see some pics when you're done!
Nice job. Thanks for showing your techiniques!
You did an excellent job on the Pegasus.
Thank you Jeffrey

I appreciate the nice comment. Thanks. And yes a Curiosity Rover would be cool.

Hey thanks Lufty. Appreciate the kind comments
Nice job and weathering with your Pegasus kit.
You're a genius!
Wow, thanks for the compliment
@Interstellar Modeler I'm just jealous that I can't do that! Beautiful work.

Looks great.
Also, did you apply your wash to the whole kit or just panels here and there?

Looks awesome! Bet the Beast and Galactica look good side by side?
Thanks. Yes they do and it's amazing how much bigger "The Beast" is.
What paints did you use? I'm starting to paint my Battlestar Pegasus and I'm wondering if you could tell me. Also some store recommendations.

Oh really? I'm in Los Angeles. I may just end up looking on Google maps, but thanks for the paint info.
Interstellar Modeler Brookhurst Hobbies in Tustin has some good inventory as well.
