Additional tip: If you have the Samsung keyboard cover for any Samsung S Tablet, you can just click "F1" and it will display all the keyboard shortcuts available. Saves a ton of time.
Let's face it, cars, candy bars, soft drinks, there's a variety because everyone has different tastes and needs. I've tried stage manager and I think apple's on the right track. But I now use dex as my main computer along with my Fold 4 and I absolutely love it. It's truly all I need. But I'm sure what I prefer isn't for everyone. Choose what you like and enjoy it!
Android deserves iPad's apps. It's so much more powerful and flexible than iPad OS. Thankfully LumaFusion is now on Android, so that's a start. Next I hope Serif ports over the Affinity suite... A note regarding the floating windows in the tablet mode, you can open more than just one. When you minimize them, they form their own little taskbar bubble of sorts so you can quickly switch between the pop up windows without screwing with your docked split screen apps. Very useful.
Dex is ahead of stage manager but they are giving iPad the chance to catch up they haven't made many real software changes to make Samsung dex more dex for example making the taskbar more customizable, allowing us to open 4 apps on split screen the same way as desktop, a lot of apps still open in the mobile interface and behave 100% the same as mobile, like office 365 which is mainly a desktop app supported of mobile device u don't gain desktop functionality in office 365 on Samsung dex, selecting text and right click still behaves like mobile device why it should behave like PC, auto correct on the physical keyboard by default should be brought, also bring Samsung dex portion to galaxy store and give us powerful pro-level apps like procreate or devenci which iPads are about to get to Samsung dex making ut stand out from mobile device. The problem is they pretty much left Samsung dex alone besides making it more accessible, one ui 5 brought minor software features to dex like a mini calendar, and more customizable taskbar. They can start of with bringing chrome os level multitasking atleast or better windows
I love my iPad Mini and my iPad Air, but Apple continues to hobble them with a weird, limited interface. I can have real functional multitasking on three monitors with my $200 Chromebook, but my $500 iPad can only handle two screens, and has no real second screen support. I am ready to ditch my iPhone for a Samsung with Dex!
The major difference is the resolution that each device supports. An iPad can output to a 6k display and Samsung limits you to a 1440 (2k) display at most. For people watching videos or editing photos and videos, the Apple way makes way more sense. But Dex makes more sense for office work or productivity when multitasking because of the multiple desktops it allows. One is not better than the other for everyone, because some people who do drawing or photography or video work, the iPad has better apps and more resolution, and a better processor. Dex is perfect for students or casual computing, and it has more variety of apps, but still isn’t as powerful as the iPad chip. Different people will need a different tool.
I just don’t understand why androids multitasking works fine with every category of devices whereas stage manager supports only pros n M1/2s. I mean what’s so better about stage manager than androids that it can’t even handle old ipads despite having impressive chips n specs.
another weird thing of stage manager is it only works on M1 ipad while Dex is perform better on less than a half peformance of M1, such a greedy move from apple
samsung tab has better keyboard shortcuts than iPad but something are strange like esc button acting as a back button and alot of shortcuts are redundant, they could've brought smart select to one of the funtion keys like f1 f2 and f3 are waste we literally have so many ways for navigation gestures
After a long time user of Samsung Dex (I’ve been using it since 2017), I ended up buying an iPad. Although Dex has more “desktop like” windowing feature, the iPad still has the best applications that professionals and hobbyists are looking for. The android ecosystem has nothing that could rival the quality apps in the Apple ecosystem such as GarageBand (for music production), Focos Live and iMovie (for video production) and Notability (for powerful note taking). Yes there are counterparts in android, but the quality, and usability between the iPad’s and Android (Dex) is night and day. Yes, the Stage manager is not as flexible as Dex, but at the end of the day, its all about the quality of the apps that you will use with the device.
@@yazouruaim694 iMovie, Garageband, Focos Live, Finalcut Pro, Logic Pro, Vectornator, to name a few. No android counterpart that can rival them, unfortunately. And this is from someone who has been using samsung/android since 2017 up to now. If you can recommend an android app with the same level of quality, youre more than welcome to reply
Dex way better
Dex is very flexible👍
Incredible video! Never knew about the flexibility of dex!

Thank you for sharing these iPad keyboard shortcuts! I knew a couple of them, but you taught me some new ones. Excellent video!
Glad you like them!

Thanks for the tips!
I agree it’s a lot better in flexibility but how is it more powerful?
@@arandootsarandano "powerful" because it's not an inherently closed platform.
I love the voice over...

hi, what mic and software you use to do voiceover? thank you. 😊
I use Lumafusion to do voiceover and I’m currently using the Maono AU-903 microphone.
I don’t use stage manager I’m not a fan of multitasking on a tablet
apple is so superior

Dex wins because termux full linux distros
You mean you can install Linux on Samsung dex?
