    Fascinating. I tried visiting the Ekranoplan parked up in a dry dock in the town of Kaspiisk in Dagestan but it's now sealed off by the military.

      I have never been there so i'm not 100% sure, but it should be possible to see it's tail from the beach opened to public. If yes it would be worth travelling literally thousands of miles for me, just for one sight. Also there is the A-90 stays in a museum in Moscow risking getting several damage because of bad positioning, plus the biggest of the modern ones flying somewhere near Petrazowodsk ,,Orion-20"

      Alexeev started own career as military engineer. He got diploma several month after European nazis attacked USSR, he immediately proposed to create military hydrofoils, prototype was ready in 1943 and finished in 1945. After war he proposed new projects of military hydrofoil with torpedoes (done in 1948, for it he even got state award). And only in 1954 he suddenly decide to build hydrofoils for civilian needs.
      1918.

    I feel like if the machinery was updated, semi-permanent lanes could be made from Europe to the tip of Africa, from Hawaii to China, Alaska to San Fran. Like anywhere there’s an ocean separating two points that could be met with a relatively straight line, you could have one of these running a weekly route. I know nothing of the shipping industry but it seems like having a few of these in the cargo fleet as well as all our usual shipping container ships would be super beneficial, I have no idea how, I just think it’d be cool.

    • @robinlinh
      @robinlinh Рік тому +6

      @Solar Dizzle that's literally the point. The sky allow you to fly at ridiculous speed cause nothing hit you at that attitude. It's just too risky for anything else travel at that kind of speed where there are obstacle, and yes water is obstacle.

    • @robinlinh

      @Solar Dizzle it was never even comparable. With water it's literally a brick wall with that speed. You are comparing apple to orange

    • @robinlinh
      @robinlinh Рік тому +6

      @Solar Dizzle I mean that's the problem. You see crazy advance in one field and think that mean it should be easy or possible to do the same in other field, because you think they are "similar" enough. When in reality they are entirely 2 different sets of problem. They are not similar at all just because they are both vehicle travel through something.

    • @robinlinh
      @robinlinh Рік тому +8

      @Solar Dizzle I never said we should not try, but I said YOU think the problem is so simple why people haven't done it yet. The problem here is not we are not trying. You better believe in ANY field there are people trying hard to make improvement, and there is a reason why that improvement is not achived yet. Your midset is flaw that you don't have enough understanding of the field, and think that field didn't make the same improvement as the other field because people are lazy and not trying hard enough. While in reality we all do, but you with limited knowledge and know nothing about the problem they are facing assume no one is trying. Understand? People with no knowledge tend to assume a thing is easy and other people just not trying hard enough. You still saying the same thing "why airplane fly, people go to space, train break speed record but why ship stay the same". BECAUSE they are not the same. We still trying to make a break through in aquatic traveling but IT IS HARDER THAN YOU THOUGHT. Not that no one is trying

    • @robinlinh
      @robinlinh Рік тому

      @Solar Dizzle bro my comments literally just try to point out why fast sea travel is super difficult and why it's not fair comparing advancement between air/space and sea travel. And you are the one who started getting defensive, typing long message and call my mindset "not great for human advance". While you choose to stay ignorance and not even try to do a little of research on the topic. And now calling me negativity and still doesn't recognize what's the topic I try to convey. Feel free to read the conversation from the start. Sorry if a little bit of fact hurt your fantasy bubble. It provides lift if you’re in a plane; it provides a vacuum of downforce if you’re in a car (albeit a car with ground effect channels). In 2022 f1 will introduce new regulations for allowing the return of ground effect due to other rules that will simplify aero on the from and rear wings.

      The ekranoplanes ceased releasing, because Gorbachev, by his treacherous decision, included this program and some other promising Soviet technologies in the strategic arms reduction treaty, so they simply stopped releasing them. 16:45 (ua-cam.com/video/VJImXVBqv7s/v-deo.html) After the collapse of the alliance in the 90s, the country plunged into chaos, people often weren’t just eating, so it wasn’t up to eranoplanes, it’s good that now everything has changed dramatically, part of the program has been restored, but something was just created from 0. The CM tests took place in the Caspian for 15 years until 1980. In 1980, due to a piloting error, the CM crashed, there were no casualties, the ekranoplan after the accident remained afloat for another week, but no attempts were made to save it, after which it sank [2]. No operations to raise, restore or build a new copy of the CM were carried out. По пророчествам мы сейчас живем в завершении последних дней этой системы вещей. Впереди правление Царства Бога над всей Землёй. Там человек будет совершенным и технологии превзойдут наши на многие порядки,потому что люди не будут ограничены временем. Вот какая жизнь будет
      Всевышний Иегова Бог обещает верным ему людям вернуть,то,что потеряли наши прародители,Адам И Ева, а именно ВЕЧНУЮ ЖИЗНЬ,в Раю на Земле,без горя,боли,страха,болезней,старости и смерти,как и было задумано изначально.
      И я услышал, как громкий голос от престола сказал: «Вот, шатёр Бога - с людьми, и он будет жить с ними. Они будут его народом, и сам Бог будет с ними. 4 Тогда он отрёт всякую слезу с их глаз, И СМЕРТИ УЖЕ НЕ БУДЕТ, ни скорби, ни вопля, ни боли уже не будет. Прежнее прошло». (Откровение 21 : 3,4)
      Там в Раю на Земле так же не будет границ и деления на государства,потому что все люди будут братьями и сестрами и будет ОДИН ЯЗЫК,как это было до разделения в Вавилоне.У стариков,которые переживут армагеддон,начнется омоложение организма.
      Бог имеет власть повернуть вспять процесс старения, и он к тому времени употребит эту власть.
      В Библии это описывается так: «Тогда тело его сделается свежее, нежели в молодости; он возвратится К ДНЯМ ЮНОСТИ СВОЕЙ» (Иов 33:25).
      Люди будут все молодыми и СОВЕРШЕННЫМИ к завершению 1000 лет Царства Христа.
      Слепые,хромые и инвалиды вновь обретут здоровье.А пустыни станут оазисами.
      Тогда раскроются глаза слепых и уши глухих откроются. 6 Тогда хромой будет скакать, как олень, и язык немого будет радостно восклицать. В пустыне пробьются воды и на пустынной равнине - потоки. 7 Иссушенная зноем земля станет как поросший тростником пруд, и жаждущая земля - как источники воды. (Исаия 35 : 5 - 7)
      У всех будет своя земля и дом.
      Люди будут строить дома и жить в них, будут разводить виноградники и есть их плоды. 22 Не будет так, что они построят, а жить будет другой, посадят, а есть будет другой. Дни моего народа будут как дни дерева, и мои избранные будут в полной мере пользоваться делом своих рук. 23 Не будут трудиться напрасно и рождать детей для бедствия, потому что они - потомство, благословлённое Иеговой, и вместе с ними - их потомки. 24 Прежде чем они позовут, я отвечу. Они ещё будут говорить, а я уже услышу (Исаия 65 : 21 - 24)
      Настанет гармония с природой и дикими животными
      Волк временами будет жить рядом с ягнёнком, леопард будет лежать с козлёнком. Телёнок, молодой гривастый лев и откормленное животное будут вместе, и маленький мальчик будет водить их. 7 Корова будет пастись с медведицей, и их детёныши будут лежать вместе. Лев будет питаться соломой, как бык. 8 Грудной младенец будет играть над норой кобры, и ребёнок, отнятый от груди, протянет руку к норе ядовитой змеи. 9 Не будут причинять вреда и не будут ничего разрушать на всей моей святой горе, потому что ЗЕМЛЯ БУДЕТ НАПОЛНЕНА ЗНАНИЯМИ ОБ ИЕГОВЕ, как воды наполняют море. (Исаия 11 : 6 - 9)
      И наконец воскреснут к жизни миллиарды людей ,всех эпох и народов.
      «Твои умершие будут жить.
      Тела моего народа поднимутся.
      Проснитесь и радостно восклицайте,
      Лежащие в прахе!
      Роса, которая падает на тебя, - как утренняя роса.
      Земля отпустит мёртвых, и они оживут.
        (Исайя 26:19)
      Но захочет ли Иегова воскрешать умерших? Конечно, и об этом говорится в Библии. Верный Богу Иов как-то спросил: «Если умрет человек, сможет ли он снова жить?» Иов говорил о том, что если он умрет, то будет лежать в могиле, ожидая, когда Бог вспомнит о нем. Затем Иов сказал Иегове: «Ты позовешь, и я отвечу тебе. Ты затоскуешь по делу своих рук» (Иов 14:13-15).
      Только представь, Иегова очень ждет того времени, когда он вернет умерших к жизни.
      Изучайте библию со свидетелями Иеговы пока еще есть ограниченное время до армагеддона. Потому что по пророчествам ,мы живем в завершающий отрезок ПОСЛЕДНИХ ДНЕЙ этой несправедливой системы.
      44 И во дни тех царей(наше время) Бог небесный УСТАНОВИТ ЦАРСТВО, которое НИКОГДА НЕ БУДЕТ РАЗРУШЕНО. Это царство не будет передано другому народу. Оно сокрушит все эти царства(мировые правительства) и положит им конец, а само БУДЕТ СТОЯТЬ ВЕЧНО (Даниил 2 :44)
      Особенно обратите внимание на предпоследний абзац, если хотите жить в Раю на Земле

      Big ground effect vehicles can carry more cargo per unit dry mass than traditional planes, that means lower fuel costs, and in theory cheaper and more competitive operation. "land locked areas"
      Indeed, boats are also incapable of reaching landlocked areas, which is why I suggested ground effect vehicles as an intermediate between boats and aircraft, faster than boats, but with a worse payload to mass ratio, and slightly slower than planes, but with a greater payload to mass ratio. They are neither better than planes, nor are they inferior, they simply fill a different niche. Comparing the two is like comparing bicycles and cars.

    • @IonoTheFanatics

      @@hedgehog3180 to be fair though, if it does get detected by surface radar (ultimately ekranoplan would still be detected by surface radar, that's better than aircraft... but worse than the range ships can be detected by radar), then things are going to be very dicey for it...
      it's fast... for a ship or even hydrofoil vessels, but still not faster than aircraft to escape against one (or against anti aircraft weaponry) so unlike aircraft it can't simply enter and escape anti aircraft weapon bubble.
      and it's payload is large against aircraft... but a missile boat smaller than half it's size can carry 2/3 it's missile complement so in terms of maximum missile saturation salvo, missile boats are still better bang for buck.
      a missile boat doesn't exactly stand that much of a chance if engaged by aircraft or warship, but they DO have some chance owing to their small size and agility .. some even have CIWS mounted on them so while their chance is not great if they are detected, they do have a chance to survive.
      ekranoplan have none of that, given it's size and inability to maneuver.

      No. To control an aircraft, you need a control surface. For conventional 'planes, they bank; that's how they get the force and acceleration for a turn. If you can't get the ekranoplan to bank (which you can't, because it has to stay in that thin layer of ground effect in order to fly), your only option would be some huge vertical fins. Information processing cannot make up for lack of physical means.

      Orion Sagano - All fair points. But then again if Boeing ever takes the idea on we'll be fine. They haven't flinched in the past when it comes to sacrificing and risking lives due to one or two faults on planes.
      But seriously, if it was treated with care it could be great, if they actually took the time to work out every fault and every potential circumstance. Plus it would need both naval and aviation engineers working together, rather than just aviation
