Indanthrone Blue is magnificent, but then again, I'm a sucker for the whole blue family! lol! This is another fine example of your thoroughness and fabulous presentation, Denise! And the painting is stellar! I especially love the soft tones against the background. Cheers! :)
LONG LIVE COLOR SPOTLIGHT!! I'm beyond excited for seeing the series come back!! I found your channel through your Prussian Blue color spotlight and fell in love ever since, I know I would love to have PB60 available to me since my favorite colors are always dark blues and the more I see PB60 the more I want it!! Not to talk about how stunning of a painting you did for this spotlight and It is also really awesome to see how much you have evolved in all aspects of your youtube channel I'm overall really happy and excited to see how far this series can go!!
I don't really care what you paint. I just love watching you paint. These mixing tutorials are so very helpful for a new watercolorist. Thanks so much for your videos.
I just bought this color the other weekend, and itnwas basically on a whim as Inwas trying out several colors from my dotcard and just happened to come by thisnand thought it seemed really nice, so I bought it, and watching this, I see it was a good choice. Such major colormixes happening here! Will definately try some of them out!
My favorite part of the series is your art at the end and how you choose to use the color. It's fantastic! I've only seen a bird a cat and this unicorn so far but I think we let you decide how the color inspires you. I think it's less pressure on you and I think we will see the best possible animal for the color in the spotlight.
YES TO UNICORNS!!!! Would love to see how beautiful a rainbow of your unicorns would be. Thank you so much for bringing back this series, always learn so much from each episode. Thank you for your hard work!
Just discovered you because of Spotlight on Indanthrone Blue. Have just purchased it for a Liz Steel Watercolour Course. Loved you very informative presentation! Will continue to follow you. I loved you Unicorn painting but would prefer a mix of animals in future. Thank you so much 😊👏
Unicorns are a great idea 😁 I'm glad this serie is back, I can discover many beautiful mixes. I really like this blue color. I don't have in my palette but it's very nice and the final painting it's beautiful. Thanks for this video, Denise 😊
I sit and wonder what else people need to subscribe to your channel? Your so talented and informative in every video! I still learn or re-learn from your videos! SO impressive and I knew I liked this color, now you have shown me it has even more depth then I knew!
Indanthrone blue/PB60 is one of my absolute favourite colours! Discovered it pretty early on in my painting journey and still can't get enough of it. For some reason I especially love how the muzzle came out on this unicorn.
I am relatively new to watercolor... and your channel has been invaluable in helping me develop basic watercolor skills... build my palette and learn the delicious depths of knowledge about color. I had purchased the Daniel Smith version of this beautiful blue (from the info I learned on your favorite blues video about its mixing magic).. but the M. Graham really has me wishing I had purchased that one instead. ... and lastly... GO UNICORNS!!
I just love watching you paint, Denise. When your subject is an imaginary animal, you bring such depth to it due to your experience with real animal portraits, as well as such an ethereal quality. I just can't get enough and hope to see you do more, more, MORE! ;D
Denise, words cannot describe how excited I am to see this series return. I never thought much about this color, but the M. Graham version is so beautiful! Thanks for fueling my addiction, haha
I just got a tube of the m Graham AnthBlue a couple of weeks ago when I saw it in another one of your vids, and am sooooo in love with this color (blue is my fav color anysway). I do a lot of landscapes and water, so it was a welcome addition to my palatte. LOVE the painting!!!! And love watching you paint, as I love watching your brushwork and your mixing on your plate. The idea of other animals with unicorn horns intrigues me. Your paint samples from me should arrive Wednesday. The PR122 by Dr ph Martin Hydrus I included took forever to dry!
IT IS BACK ! OFFICIALLY ! I've just recently starting to play with PB60, we're taking some time to know each other before it gets a spot in my palette. But so far so good, I love it with Nickel Azo Yellow and those purples you get with Permanent Rose are gorgeous! Unicorns!
Gorgeous painting!!!!! If you get tired of unicorns, dragons are lovely too and you can beat them for character. :) I love PB60 and I'm with you on M. Graham's being the richest. Your color spotlight is much more concise this time around I enjoy it.
I just got my MGraham, PB 60, and I love it.l I’ve been more mixing the colors you suggested, and they are awesome!! Finally a perfect green! Thank you, Kathy
I love that you made this video. One artist said they didn’t like m.graham PB60 that it was terrible to blend with & preferred DS & schmincke. I wonder if they meant the staining? Anyway, I didn’t agree and so I was delighted to see your opinions since they really align w/mine. There’s no right or wrong, just preference. The bonus was seeing you mix with terra Rosa (PR101) since I’ve most people use red iron oxide, but once again it’s a mixture I love, but haven’t heard anyone talk about until you. This video was such a treat. Thank you so much for making these. I’m gonna check out more of your videos!
M. Graham Anthraquinone Blue is on my palette. When mixed with D. Smith's Perylene Maroon you get an interesting range of greyish-purple to an almost black. As well, if you are a Neutral Tint fan, adding some of it to the blue makes an almost denim blue.
Yayyy!! Its the first color. I was quite giddy when I found a local seller here of mgraham via friend who offered to buy me something. There is this blue that Denise mention its lovely and so I ask her to get it for me. I can't wait to try the mixes. Thank you.
Your unicorn painting is stunning, and you chose perfect music to go with it! I do have PB60 in various palettes, but can't sait what is my favourite mix with it because it's so versatile.. I paint a lot of landscapes, so moody blues (lol) and dark greens are the colours I love and see around me here in Finland.
I like the way you talk about the paints. It really ressemble what I learned to do when I was studying to be a nature educator. I can see your zoo educator background there :) You could do different mythical creatures/animals. Or paint whatever that color inspires you.
PB60 Sennelier indanthrene is my favorite! And PB 15:6 like schmincke pthalo sapphire blue. All time fav blue paints! The Sennelier is my favorite for a deep dark galaxy and it mixes so well with so many colors like a solid sap green. And I prefer to use it in botanical painting. I'm still working on schminkes PB 15:6 but I love how it looks dried on the paper I use. It's beautiful. Edit....well sap green is confirmed. Glad you like the mix too.
I’m not really happy with the Daniel Smiths version of the PB60 version I have but after watching your demonstration I think I’ll give M.Grahams Anthraquinone Blue a shot. I’ve been an artist most of my life but fairly new to watercolors and really loving all the discoveries I’m learning about them. So just want to thank you for all your videos and tell you how I appreciate you taking the time share your vast knowledge about watercolors with us Denise.
I do not have this color yet, but I'm always looking to add to my collection! I just started my journey with watercolor about 6 months ago, with Kuretake Gansai Tambi only to find out they don't always behave like watercolor I'm used to seeing. After watching a bunch of your videos, I recently decided to start with White Nights. I have their 24 paint palette as a base and know I'm looking to add to that, so I'm super happy you have rebooted this series!
I absolutely adore this painting 😍💕💕💕. Indanthrone blue has become one of my fav colors. I used to love DS but since you introduced me to MGrams it’s one of my must used colors. I mix it with Burnt Umber for grays and neutral S. I love it along side DS Quin Purple and Qors Colbalt Teal. I never considered mixing it with Teal but will now. These Spotlights are so helpful with the way you present them.
im using indanthrone as my primary blue (sennelier) in oil painting and i really love it. together with quinacridone magenta and cobalt teal, but i love the watercolor as well :)
Indanthrone Blue is SUCH a good color!!! It was one of the dozen or so first Daniel smith colors I got and is still regularly used in my household! Mmm. Love me a good color that has huuuuuuuuge range. Also, it makes a great purple with opera rose, but opera rose just makes great purples. =>.
I just started binge watching your videos, especially the informative ones about swatches and different brands and I must say I really owe you! I found out SO MUCH about the watercolors I am using and I am so glad that I got into the whole pigment thing! Before I knew of course that every color is made with pigment but I thought it doesn‘t really matter. Now I am sure that I can step up my Illustation game to the next level, even though I still have a lot to learn about pigments! That said, I just ordered some daniel smith watercolors on jacksons and I am SO excited about it! I already own 35 Schmincke Horadam in a good color range so I decided to go for the unique primatek ones. Later on, when I got all the primateks, PB60 and especially my favourite colour/pigment PG50 will follow! 💙 That said, thanks for enlighten me about different watercolor brands and pigments, so that I can now expand my knowledge and color palette! 💙
Just adding my two cents in recommending the M.Graham Anth Blue, probably my favorite blue and most used color. Mix it with DS Quin Burnt Orange a lot. Love the channel.
Nice vid! My second favorite blue, just losing for prussian blue from rembrandt. Mine is from MaimeriBlu and is super intense with a nice spread on the paper.
Absolutely stunning Denise! I loooove Indanthrone blue! It's such a lovely color! It and quin rose are gorgeous! I need to make an updated mixing chart so I can see if there are any hidden gems. Did you see Danica's unicorn deer? That could be an idea of a direction to go in if you get tired of only doing horses.
I am so excited the series is back! You've got some amazing mixes there Denise! Your love for PB60 really transfers over so I am off to try out some mixes myself!
I really enjoy this series, it's really useful in this case as I was eyeing PB60 and will definetely go for the white nights one on the next occasion! It would have been nice to include more brands, maybe there were some in your latest "swatch with me"s? Schmincke should have one, called dark blue. I love the picture you painted :). I used to draw a lot of horses and it makes me want to try one in water colour again.
Thanks so much. These were all the full swatches I have as the Schmincke dots were not large enough to do larger swatches. Dot cards are great for assessing hue, but I can't properly assess all of the characteristics of a paint from them, so I don't want to accidentally give the wrong impression.
I love MGraham's Anthraquinone Blue. I use it with night, galaxy and ocean scenes a lot. And depending on the yellow I mix it with, it makes some great greens. I also like pairing it with Pthalo Green for some unique shades of blue green. I love how your unicorn turned out. Kind of reminds me of Friendship is Magic.
I love DS's Indanthrone. I just got the M. Graham and I am happy I did. They have very different vibes. I find the DS moody whereas the M. Graham feels rich. Both have their uses. I loved the mixes you got with Terra Rossa! Wow!
Paint all the unicorns, haha! That M. Graham looks delicious. I took the plunge and bought myself the 36-color Mission Gold set that comes with a palette because it seems like a nice balance of price point and quality. M. Grahams are my dream paints though. I just need to feel like I've become decently proficient in watercolor or I'll be too scared to use them!
I only have about 3 M.Graham tubes in my collection, but I think I need to add this blue. I really loved the mixes you showed and the paint swatches are beautiful. Thank you for spotlighting a paint that I never would have tried myself -- so helpful!
added to my list! i didnt ever try the daniel smith version, but sap green is my favorite kind of green so glad to know about that mix. Also I'd love to see a deer unicorn
Had to vote unicorn. 💜 No regrets. This painting is absolutely gorgeous and I would love to see a series of unicorns in different colour schemes! Or alternatively, I would love to see a series of mythical creatures. That could be incredibly cool with your experience in wildlife painting. PB60 has officially been added to my watercolour wishlist. You sold me. This colour is gorgeous and I understand its use now thanks to this video!
I don't know if you are doing one on cobalt teal or not, but I would love to suggest that one. I just love how it granulates. It's so beautiful, It makes want to use rough paper.
It seems like a good alternative to ivory black for getting better greens and violets with the Zorn palette. I'd go for the more neutralized, less 'dirty' PB60. BTW, I loathe unicorns. :) Thanks for the video, though.
Don't know if you know but QoR just discontinued their indithrone blue as tgey no longer have the pigment i bought 4 tubes. But when I got mine there were only 3 other ones left. I dont know if tge other brands will still have access to this pigment it would be cool if you did an update
Denise one question is there any color similar to the Cobalt Blue that can be used as a replacement.I use Bright Blue pb 15:3 pigment,Ultramarine and this Indanthrone Blue pb60 in my palette also have Prussian blue.
i am in love with this painting, oh my gosh. she is stunning!!! i voted unicorns because i would love more pretty horses, but i saw someone suggesting a general equine theme and i would love that as well. i'm trying to word what i love about this painting, and i think part of it is that the colour palette based on this pigment is colours i like in very warm and comfortable tones, but i'm also just very impressed with your technique because horses are difficult! i also love the balance between clear lines and softened edges. i tend to have art videos on while i do my own stuff, and mostly listen to the person talking and glance up now and then, but i was mesmerized by this process and sat transfixed. wahhhh. incredible!
Cant wait to try the color as it is in my new upcomming white nights set of 36 .. i am over the moon to get their full set as these are my go to study paints and please regular animals,no 8 unicorns..
So am i... my fav colors are, after a year of daily abuse, almost empty. It is really nice to have one basic set where you know how colors will behave, nomatter the brand, but depending on knowing the paints. I can have a full ds set, with paintings that look awfull caus I do not know the paint. I am fairly 'autistic' in that regard,lol- no offence. This set in the eu is a fairly common artistpaint starter set; for 50 euro it is the set i usually recomment to pple who want to upgrade but paint on a budget.
I've had W&N version in my 12 color palette for 3 weeks but during the time I didn't use ANY blue at all - before than they were my most used colors. The color is deep and gorgeous but not inspiring for me to create art :( + I love horses so yaaay but I'm sure that you'll be bored during that time :D I would love to see Pegasus with cobalt teal, though! 😍😍
M. Graham's version of Indanthrone Blue looks stunning on screen (and surprisingly transparent and clean glazing too!), and may have had an honorary spot on my palette. Unfortunately the brand isn't available for me locally or at Jackson's, and with Amazon's extra international shipping costs... *sigh* (Same problem with Da Vinci... *Double sigh*). I didn't really like Daniel Smith's or Schmincke's version, so I've landed on Sennelier's Indathrene Blue, which I really like (haven't had any issues with Sennelier's version drying uneven though, I wonder why you've had a different experience). It mixes really well, and the mixes with PY150 are some of my favorite green mixes, and I do use that my sap green. It can also mix great Sap Greens with PY129 :)
Aww such a bummer Palmira! Luckily White Nights and Sennelier do have nice versions! It may have been the paper with the Sennelier, but I usually only get those white speckles on unsized paper, and it happened on Arches CP here. Thanks for your tips on the mixes as well!
I don’t know if you’ll see this comment. But I got an M Graham set for Christmas and it had Anthraquinone Blue in the set. I just swatched it and it has these weird gritty specks in it. I first noticed it on my 30-well porcelain palette (the same one that you own) when I brushed out the color a little bit with a tiny bit of water. When the white of the porcelain shined through the dark paint I noticed the specks. I know that PB60 isn’t a granulating color so I was immediately confused. They look like tiny tiny flecks of black (or darker athraqu. blue) - almost fibery like from a paper towel or something. So weird??? And yes my palette was clean. I wiped it clean before putting some paint down. The paint was very thin and I didn’t mix the tube (I use an electric eraser with a needle stabbed into the eraser as a DIY paint mixer lol). So I will swatch again after mixing but I don’t see how that will help the grains that I’m seeing. Have you not noticed this? If you don’t mind, next time you use this color on your porcelain palette let me know if you see these tiny specks. I hope I didn’t get a bad batch or something :( The color looks mostly fine on the swatch card by the way. I mostly noticed these specks on the palette when pulling the color out slightly diluted.
Sometimes it can have some flecks, but if it's an issue for you, I'd definitely recommend contacting them. In the past, they've been pretty responsive!
Indanthrone Blue is magnificent, but then again, I'm a sucker for the whole blue family! lol! This is another fine example of your thoroughness and fabulous presentation, Denise! And the painting is stellar! I especially love the soft tones against the background. Cheers! :)
Thanks Mark! I'm so glad you liked it :)
I just wanted to take a moment to tell you that I love your informative, well-presented, and thoughtful videos! You've helped me so much!
TalTesla that makes me so happy! Thank you!
She changed my life in terms of watercolor. Literally.

It's pure joy watching you paint.
Will definately try some of them out!

oh yes im so hype for this!
how about not just unicorns but mythical creatures in general? sphynxes, fauns... wolpertinger maybe?
YES TO UNICORNS!!!! Would love to see how beautiful a rainbow of your unicorns would be. Thank you so much for bringing back this series, always learn so much from each episode. Thank you for your hard work!
Hahaha thanks Oto! It looks like unicorns are winning once again here on UA-cam! I look forward to creating that rainbow as well :)
Gotta say, I am VERY pumped for uniturtles. I know they were not promised, but they are a possibility and this excites me.
Legoduckie 😂
Hahah! Hmmm I have an idea for that! *puts in back pocket*
Uniturtles sound even better!!!
DREAMS REALLY DO COME TRUE. =>.
i'm from future and i came here to say that your dream came true when denise decided to do a green color spotlight.
Stunning painting!
Thanks Azzu! So glad you're excited about the reboot!
Ohhh, I'm so excited for this new series! And my goodness, that unicorn!! :o What a beautiful painting AND pigment.
Thanks Arleesha!!

❤ indanthrone and cobalt teal / blue - my favourite blues
Wow! I’m in tears... BRAVO🙌
Indanthrone blue/PB60 is one of my absolute favourite colours! Discovered it pretty early on in my painting journey and still can't get enough of it.
For some reason I especially love how the muzzle came out on this unicorn.
Thank you so much Emma!
I can’t tell you how excited I was to hear the color spotlight was coming back. Thanks Denise! I have to say PB60 is now on my permanent palette!
Thanks Victor! I'm so glad it's back too!
This unicorn turned out so well, Denise! I love it!
I am relatively new to watercolor... and your channel has been invaluable in helping me develop basic watercolor skills... build my palette and learn the delicious depths of knowledge about color. This color is so lovely! Thanks for showing such fantastic color combos! The quinacridone rose and indanthrone blue is my new favorite purple combo!
Ah, that combo is so gorgeous!!
Gorgeous Unicorn!!! I'm so happy you're doing this again! And Thank You patrons!
Thanks so much Colleen!!

I just got my MGraham, PB 60, and I love it.l I’ve been more mixing the colors you suggested, and they are awesome!! Finally a perfect green! Thank you, Kathy
I enjoyed your presentation so much! So thorough, full of useful information, and you are just soooo entertaining! Thanks!

M. Graham Anthraquinone Blue is on my palette. When mixed with D. Smith's Perylene Maroon you get an interesting range of greyish-purple to an almost black. As well, if you are a Neutral Tint fan, adding some of it to the blue makes an almost denim blue.
Thanks Mary! Indeed, I used the neutral tint in the painting for those nice rich denim tones.
Animals, Flowers or anything.
Beautiful artwork.
I love the gray pb 60 and pr 179 (perylene maroon) make! very pretty gray
Such useful information! TY! I have it in my palette and mostly use it with clouds, and water.
Oh also - DS Indanthrone Blue mixed with DS Rich Green Gold gives my very favorite olive green in the whole world. I love it so much.
Yayyy!! Its the first color. I was quite giddy when I found a local seller here of mgraham via friend who offered to buy me something.
There is this blue that Denise mention its lovely and so I ask her to get it for me. I can't wait to try the mixes. Thank you.

You could do different mythical creatures/animals. Or paint whatever that color inspires you.
Thank you Melissa, that means a lot to me that the zoo educator shines through! :)
So great to see the series back! And you can never have to many unicorns 😊
Fantastic! Great color and fabulous unicorn!!
PB60 Sennelier indanthrene is my favorite! And PB 15:6 like schmincke pthalo sapphire blue. All time fav blue paints! I completely agree Erin! It's such a valuable mixing color.
Wow! The unicorn is absolutely gorgeous! I'm voting for more realistic paintings.
I’m not really happy with the Daniel Smiths version of the PB60 version I have but after watching your demonstration I think I’ll give M.Grahams Anthraquinone Blue a shot. Your painting is breathtaking, so beautiful! Love this color, and the beautiful mixes you’ve demonstrated. Thanks Denise!
Thanks so much Linda!
I like the idea of different base animals with unicorn horns. And this blue is sooo beautiful. I'm totally going to buy it on my trip to Portland 😍
Thanks Mel! I'm glad it was a helpful video :)
I'm so glad your adding to colour spotlight!! Your videos are sooo useful 😊😊
The painting is gorgeous ♥ It's one of my favorite blues as well! Thanks for this very enjoyable and informative video :)
Thanks Eve!! :)

Hi Caroline! Thanks so much for sharing and I'm so glad to be part of your watercolor journey :) Happy painting!
Absolutely Amazing especially with the dark mane.
Love the painting Denise! :)
You haven't lost your touch. Great job! I do have this on my palette and love the aquas and teals it makes :)
Excellent video!!
I was so excited this video was finally up that it helped me get out of bed haha!
Hahah, yay! I'm in a similar boat this morning :p
I absolutely adore this painting 😍💕💕💕. Indanthrone blue has become one of my fav colors. I used to love DS but since you introduced me to MGrams it’s one of my must used colors. I mix it with Burnt Umber for grays and neutral

im using indanthrone as my primary blue (sennelier) in oil painting and i really love it. together with quinacridone magenta and cobalt teal, but i love the watercolor as well :)
Sold! The mixes you created were stunning, but Cobalt teal is a fave. I was surprised to see the range of blues those two create.
I was too! So excited to try out a range. Of course they wont lift as well as a cobalt blue would with the staining PB60, but the hues are lovely!
one of my all time fav colors
Beautiful painting! And yes, PB60 is on my palette after a review I saw from you! Love unicorns!
Thank you so much Kat! So glad you like it :D Sorry I didn't do the opera rose mix - forgive me! :D
In Liquid Color I’ll forgive you forever. =^.^= nobody else made the mistake of falling in love with a fugitive. =>.
@@MeowMeowKapow I have a love-hate relationship with it. I love the colour with all my heart and hate that it is so fugitive
You are amazingly talented!! I love your videos! I learn so much, thank you.
Is... is this video showing the birth of Denise's specialty color, Stormy Blue by DaVinci?
You found it! :D
I just started binge watching your videos, especially the informative ones about swatches and different brands and I must say I really owe you!

That said, thanks for enlighten me about different watercolor brands and pigments, so that I can now expand my knowledge and color palette! 💙
I love this colour, this painting and this channel. :)
Thank you for sharing such useful information.
Just adding my two cents in recommending the M.Graham Anth Blue, probably my favorite blue and most used color. Mix it with DS Quin Burnt Orange a lot. Love the channel.
Thanks Mitchell! Really appreciated :)
Nice vid! My second favorite blue, just losing for prussian blue from rembrandt. Mine is from MaimeriBlu and is super intense with a nice spread on the paper.
Fantastic painting, Denise. Much as I love unicorns, I'd like to see some realistic animals, too.
Beautiful! I’m adding this color, I love the mixes you made, thank you
So glad it was helpful - thanks Donald!
Grace Blosser yes! I love her deer but I wouldn't want to tread too closely. Considering my options though for sure!
So excited for this series!!! Beautiful painting!
Thanks for the explanation, I appreciate it :)
I AM SO EXCITED FOR UNICORNS!!!
Thank you! I always buy anywhere but on amazon. This gives me the opportunity to support your channel via Jackson.
Silke Schümann thank YOU!
I only have about 3 M.Graham tubes in my collection, but I think I need to add this blue. I really loved the mixes you showed and the paint swatches are beautiful. Thank you for spotlighting a paint that I never would have tried myself -- so helpful!
So glad it was helpful Barb!
added to my list! i didnt ever try the daniel smith version, but sap green is my favorite kind of green so glad to know about that mix. Also I'd love to see a deer unicorn
Did you see Danica Sills just did one? So pretty!
yes! that's why i mentioned it, i want more ha ha
Wonderful job! Tfs 😃🌸
Indie blue is on my palette. I love it. FYI it is also one of Cheap Joe Miller’s from Cheap Joes favorite colors
I freaking LOVE this series!! Thank you :D Also, YES for the unicorns!!
Thanks Rori!
Tried it and i love it.. Awsome for shadows and moody skies or night sky, mine is white nights.
Pb 60 is in my list. What brand of brush (main one) are you using in this video, it looks like a pen.
Thanks so much for the kind words Ley! So glad you enjoyed it!!
I don't know if you are doing one on cobalt teal or not, but I would love to suggest that one. I just love how it granulates. It's so beautiful, It makes want to use rough paper.
You're in luck - It's actually up next :)
It seems like a good alternative to ivory black for getting better greens and violets with the Zorn palette. I'd go for the more neutralized, less 'dirty' PB60. BTW, I loathe unicorns. :) Thanks for the video, though.
Oooh! Anthraquinone Blue by M. Graham is my absolute favorite :D
I want all the blues...can’t stop...also Quin gold , all the quin gold...
Don't know if you know but QoR just discontinued their indithrone blue as tgey no longer have the pigment i bought 4 tubes. But when I got mine there were only 3 other ones left. I dont know if tge other brands will still have access to this pigment it would be cool if you did an update
i'm gonna have to buy this color, it's so beautiful. but i think i might have to invest in a purple first since i have my blues already
Denise one question is there any color similar to the Cobalt Blue that can be used as a replacement.I use Bright Blue pb 15:3 pigment,Ultramarine and this Indanthrone Blue pb60 in my palette also have Prussian blue.
i am in love with this painting, oh my gosh. she is stunning!!! i voted unicorns because i would love more pretty horses, but i saw someone suggesting a general equine theme and i would love that as well. i'm trying to word what i love about this painting, and i think part of it is that the colour palette based on this pigment is colours i like in very warm and comfortable tones, but i'm also just very impressed with your technique because horses are difficult! i also love the balance between clear lines and softened edges. i tend to have art videos on while i do my own stuff, and mostly listen to the person talking and glance up now and then, but i was mesmerized by this process and sat transfixed. wahhhh. incredible!
Aww that makes me so happy! Thank you Pixie! I'm so glad you enjoyed the painting and appreciate your suggestions moving forward!
Cant wait to try the color as it is in my new upcomming white nights set of 36 .. i am over the moon to get their full set as these are my go to study paints and please regular animals,no 8 unicorns..
Yay! Glad to hear a new set is coming your way :)
So am i... my fav colors are, after a year of daily abuse, almost empty.
Unicorns please. All the unicorns! This one turned out so lovely. She has a really soft glance, like a mythical unicorn should.
Jackson's now sell m graham paints!
I have it on my main palette . I use it in mixes mainly
I hope I didn’t get a bad batch or something :(
The color looks mostly fine on the swatch card by the way. I mostly noticed these specks on the palette when pulling the color out slightly diluted.
Sometimes it can have some flecks, but if it's an issue for you, I'd definitely recommend contacting them. In the past, they've been pretty responsive!
