    I have had an Outback in every generation normally trade them between 150 and 175000 miles so far I have been pleased with all of them, and I highly recommend them for anyone who deals with States and any kind of bad weather. On my latest Outback I have put on Michelin crossclimate tires what a terrific upgrade on snow, ice, heavy rain. If you don't need a big bulky SUV the Outback is a terrific choice.

    Turbo's are finicky especially in cold weather, make sure to give them a couple minutes "warm up" before driving, as it's hard on the seals etc when there isn't sufficient time for a warm up. Also idle it for a couple minutes before turning the car off, just saying. I try to stay away from turbo's if at all possible.

    These are quite popular in the Northeast, and now I see why. Seems like a great value, and nice tweener vehicle for those that want the SUV aesthetic and capability in a more manageable size. They historically have been very reliable, although the CVT gives me pause.

    • @colechapman6976
      @colechapman6976 2 роки тому +2

      I am from New Jersey and go to Westchester NY and Upstate NY quite often. Any street you visit, there will probably be a Subaru. They are very popular because they offer AWD standard, good ground clearance, and are more utilitarian than lots of fancy SUVs which is what people in the northeast generally like. Lots of cars also don't offer AWD on base trims, but Subaru does, which is another reason for their popularity here. The northeast is in a Snowbelt region so cars with good ground clearance and AWD are necessary for tackling blizzards and intense summer storms

    Yeah, I've ordered new Outback Touring 2021 2.5 and here in Finland it costs little bit more than 51 thousands euros and can't buy with turbo.
    I'm waiting it so much, will got it in August. It will be my seventh Subaru and second Outback. One Mercedes interrupted my 32-year journey on the Subaru but soon the journey continues.

    You guys are great! And very familiar with the Subaru brand. Just bought a Subaru Outdoor. Sport for you in the States. Only in 6 months and 3000 kms my Startex seats are creased at the lower bolster and yellow stitch is loosened. They say at Subaru Canada it's a wear and tear issue. How can it be possible after only 3000kms, 5000kms or now 9000kms after just 1yr and 1month ownership, it's only getting worse and I won't be able to sell the damn car!! . It's plainly visible a manufacturer defect. Or Improper installation of the seat, My driver's seat. I take care getting in and out. I don't rub against the bolster. Subaru doesn't back up this Startex material. WHICH IS SUPPOSED TO BE MORE DURABLE THAN LEATHER! I'm going on every UA-cam and Facebook and Instagram and Twitter pages plus Google to complain til replacement of seat. It's only $800 retail price. Stop being so cheap Subaru. Wished I bought Honda like I have last 20yrs

      Shut-off resets every time you start the engine.

    I have an Outback and I'm disappointed. The fit and finish isn't very good. At 60,000-miles, the leather seats are splitting, the dash screen electronics are buggy, and the driver's window is glitchy...sometimes I can't get it to close. Overall, the car has a "loose feel" to it quite unlike other SUVs.

    Absolutely carry a high powered jump pack. All the electronic crap on this car can drain your battery. Other than that it’s been good approaching 20k on my 22

    I love Subaru Outback 🙄!!! My only concern is about reliability of CVT transmission.

    My wife and I have a well-maintained 2014 Outback, 127,000 miles, of which the transmission gave out. It is $9000 repair it, and all Subaru National Office will do is tell us that the car is out of warranty and that's how things go. Cars made in the 1970s lasted longer than this. Shame on Subaru.

      almost every new car has this feature which you need to turn off everytime you turn it on

      also they updated the software so you can now disable the annoying feature

      There are aftermarket devices that bypass the feature permanently.

    I think Subaru ruined the look of the dash....Touch screen dash etc is horrible looking. Subaru had some of the coolest looking dashboards, knobs etc. Ive owned two of the OB and I won't own a third

    Just bought a 2022 hyundai santa fe limited hybrid. Seriously best car ever. We test drove and researched over 10+ cars. Hyundai is in a league of its own. Plus a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty to throw in the mix.

    After almost a year in the 2021 Onyx…I cant stand this car. Its my wifes thank god, but its been in to service 3 times, infotainment is HORRIBLE, and seats destroy my back. For $45k I think you can do much better.
