@@kenziemayrae3568 you’re all so sweet! FYI, if I put out a vid mid week, it prob won’t be kitchen content. I’ll always keep Sunday for the core stuff, so don’t leave if you see me in the laundry room at some point soon. 🙌🏻
I was wondering how you use the roaster for preparing tomatoes to can! Can you share that? I am trying to plan out what to do with ours when we start to harvest.
So much motivation here to get some prepped foods in my freezer 🙌🏽 this is something I definitely need to get better about, especially lately! It’s like the day flies by and I realize I haven’t laid anything out or prepped anything for dinner and then I’m scrambling more often than I care to admit 😬🥴 lol
It definitely happens to the best of us! I love to thaw a bunch of meat early in the week and come up with a base plan, but that doesn’t always happen. Also, one load of dishes is better than MANY, so this is a help for us. Thanks for watching! Hope to see you back soon.
I make meatballs once a year and just partially cook them then freeze. I also do a years worth of lasagnas and freeze. and make a years worth of meatloaf, divide and freeze uncooked. Makes easy meals later. When I do soups or chili I do triple batches and freeze some. Just somethings I found that works for me.
Hope you are safe from the recent storms. I just found your channel and subscribed. Batch cooking is something I have done for years. Now we are empty nesters and it's a way to reduce food waste as we don't get tired of leftovers. I love my big roaster for canning too!❤
Thank you for checking on us! We actually did have a tornado warning in the night an early Saturday morning, but all is well. Thank you for watching, and so happy you found my corner of YT!
New follower Great advice My pet peeve whenever anyone is preparing food even though it’s usually just for your family is When y’all do t put your hair up! Hair can get into the food and ruin a whole batch of anything you’re preparing.
Glad you’re here! Thanks for subscribing! I think there is an interesting conversation about hair to be had. Those of us on YT are typically cooking in our own homes, for our own families. We dress and style our hair the way we would in any other day at home. I think because it’s on camera people feel like we’re cooking for strangers or in a commercial kitchen. My hair is clean, so if one strand gets into a dish, which has happened maybe 5 times over the last decade, then it’s not ruined. I would simply remove it and move on. I am also VERY desensitized to hair because I used to work in salons, as a stylist.
@@thehometownhomestead like I said I know yall just cook for your own families. I would feel so bad if anyone of my children or husband had to pull a strand of hair out of their food regardless if it’s clean I still think that it is disgusting.
@@rottie_mom13096 this tan dress is an amazing Goodwill find, sadly! Anytime I have an option to link what I’m wearing you’ll be able to find it in the description. I started doing that because this question comes up often! I get some from Amazon, a few from Old Navy, but the bulk are scores from thrifting. I find that they are rarely worn and always under $10! Thanks for watching, and I hope to see you back soon! My latest upload will be up in less than 2 hours. 💕
I found one of those large rosters at our local thrift store for 8$. Never used. I roasted four chickens from our freezer on Saturday. (Two at a time) and it was a life saver! Oh! how I miss my old magic meal /Electrolux mixer!!
It’s crazy how cheap they are 2nd hand! Mine has another last name written inside the lid because the previous owner used it once for a huge church dinner. Congrats on your score!
And somehow I hadn’t considered this! I could roast 4-5 chickens at a time with these 2 plus one in the IP to keep things moving. Now THAT is a big batch day!!
@@teresae3470 my hair is different from day to day, just like most other women. Since I’m not in a commercial kitchen, or serving anyone outside of my home, I simply get dressed and fix my hair as I wish on any given day. It’s actually rare to see my hair the same way twice. 😉 Thanks for watching! Hope to see you back soon.
your videos are giving me so much motivation!! i was wondering if you had any suggestions for bulk buying/prepping in a place with little storage. My hubby and I's starter house has almost no storage, but I dont want that to stop us from eating healthy and saving up money for our forever home.
This is a great topic. Maybe I should film at my mom’s house and show you all how she uses extra closet space to the maximum! Do you have a spare bedroom at all? I know many people turn them into a pantry, or even just capitalize on the space under the bed. I’ll work on a time to go to moms though. She doesn’t have a large pantry space at all, and does have a lot of food tucked away. 👍
I’m probably half and half on Amazon and Goodwill, with a sprinkle of Old Navy. 😆 If it is available currently, I always put a link in the description, but this specific one was $6 at Goodwill and SO DANG AWESOME. I often fill those pockets with cherry tomatoes or eggs. 😬 At that price, I don’t mind one bit!
Thank you, and thank you for watching! If I was working in a commercial or public kitchen, I definitely would. In my own home, I tend to do as I wish on each individual day. Sometimes it up, sometimes it’s down. Hope to see you back soon!

Love ours too! I’m sold on them, but I don’t think I need more than 2, unless we take our garden to the next level! 😆
