One of the reasons that I love content creation is that I'm terrible at scrapbooking. I hope my kiddos love seeing and sharing our life with their families, decades from now.
Thanks for watching, and I hope to see you back soon.

I love seeing you let the kids help. I always let mine help. Not only did we create memories you’re teaching them self sufficiency. When mine moved out they were able to cook for themselves. My son moved into a large house he shared with 6 others. No one else in the house knew how to meal plan, grocery shop or cook. They were amazed he knew these things and would complain about their high food costs. They all ordered 95% of their food from door dash, spending an average of $35 per trip. Sometimes twice a day. No idea how people afford to do this, but I guess hunger wins. My son spent less on his monthly meals, 3 meals a day, then they spent weekly on 2 meals a day. He actually came to me and thanked me for teaching him how to do these things and allowing him to be part of the process. Made my momma heart happy. Not only do we both have great memories, he is able to take care of himself , which is one of our jobs as parents, to raise self sufficient able bodied adults that know how to function in this world!

That’s a fabulous testament to a job well done! I appreciate your encouragement to keep going from the other side, because that is definitely my goal. 💕

She often gets mad at or for starting projects before she wakes up.
“Why did you start this without me?”
She’s also great at reminding ME to be careful. 😆
Thanks for watching, hope to see you back again soon.

Great ideas. We always make a hot breakfast every morning. I’m always looking for new ideas! I’ve not tried bagels yet… going to soon. My kitchenaide just died on me… so I am going to save up and get the mixer of my dreams… had one years ago and drove it into the grave…. You are the only other person I’ve seen use that kind of mixer. They are amazing! As a side note I will make bread and sprinkle cinnamon sugar on it like cinnamon rolls. Add cinnamon chips then roll it up into a loaf. Cinnamon chip bread… my kids love it.

Sometimes people sell “gently” used Anks on the community group in FB. Also they sell them open box sometimes. It’s a beast, but the time saved by being able to do multiple batches at once is worth it to me. I’ve had it for about 18 months, and I can’t do back.
Bagels, just like everything else, are easier than I made them out to be in my head. Once you try them, you’ll have to share your thoughts!
      Thanks for watching!

@@thehometownhomestead my mixer was 50 years old when I got it. It ran like a boss for years. You’re right. Nothing else compares. I’ll have to check out those pages. Thank you for the suggestions. And I’ll have to try the bagels!

I love all you do, to feed your family well!
It does make me think though, I am glad I had a small family.
I had 2 daughters, with 20 years between them. In one way it was silly of me, to have another and Start the Mother Mode, all over again! But in the consideration of the amount of food and work required, for a larger one? It is a blessing. Right after my youngest was born, about 3 years? My daughter had her first son. She lived with us, still, so Baby Mode and bedroom shifting occurred also. My room became hers and I went into basement. They moved out when he was 8 months, to a city about 45 minutes drive from us. BUT Doctoring and Banking was still in our little town. I AM the Driver. So I spent hours per week, shuttling them and having them stay over for at least one night. So cooking etc became my job, often.
Now? I cook for ME. Only me. So it happens about once a week. I have a crippled leg and I can't DO large days of anything! 2hr spans, like in Canning, pushes my leg and body too hard. Then I can cook. Lol Considering it is my resposibility TO Do all yard work, etc? I cannot cause my leg excess injury.
Life Changes SO many things, doesn't it?!? ❤

Sounds like you’re super involved with your family still, which is such a blessing. Both my mom, and mother-in-law are exceptionally generous with us and help when we need them too. The kids LOVE spending time with them both.
Thanks for watching, and make sure to listen to your body, because you’re correct about overworking! It’s definitely not worth it. 🙌🏻

It’s an Ankarsrum. It’s a beast. They’re known to last 25-30 years and can do 2-3 times what my old Kitchenaid could handle at a time. Pricey up front, but a huge timesaver, and built to last.
