As a drummer 1,5 years in to my drumming adventure, this is gold stuff to study! Been playing bass and guitar since the age of 10ish and picked up drumming at 40. One of my favourite drummers is Mitch Mitchell so I'm trying to pick up all I can about his stuff. Looking at some of your videos has really helped solve some mysteries for me! Thanks and well played!
Excellent cover. Drums sound great too I love that vintage sound. Your interpretation of this song is slightly different than mine where you play a more jazzy thing on the bell and I just play the bell on the downbeat. Yours is a polyrythmic quality that I like. I will practice this as it adds depth to the song. Thanks for posting and showing your perspective on this great tune.
Look at this one🥁.... Dude, it looks simple and haggard, but it's incredibly complex🥁... incredible. Mitchell was a monster of a drummer... it's a shame he's a little forgotten by today's generation. Good job my friend.👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you very much! I agree. It’s unfortunate that he’s overlooked by younger drummers today. I feel like Hendrix is overlooked amongst younger guitarists as well. Pretty sad.
@@vintagedrummer79I don't know if you know, but Mitchell played in the band "Ramatam" after leaving the Experience... ua-cam.com/video/wTl3EXETUkg/v-deo.htmlsi=xtrvCK3ZD47jq1iE
What a great video!! Dang. Just popped right into the song and perfectly. Wow. What amazing talent. I just wanted to see how it was done. With both the cymbal and tom being the main attraction, I wondered if it was double playing on the record and then played differently live. But check that out. Woof. I don't think I'll ever get that good! Lol. Youre excellent. Great job. Congrats on being so good.
I will say Mitch does play the main beat a bit differently. You play one of the several variations he does on the beat through the beat. But he varies from what you play into occasionally fully shuffling the ride and the sometimes only playing single strokes on the ride ride off beat after the snare. Aside from that you nail this completely
Ha I just got the sheet music. I've been playing this wrong, and practicing my ass off and dude is so loose playing traditional grip playing it like it's nothing, like he's stirring soup in his sleep!! 😂 Beautiful job!
When people ask me. Who do you think the best drummer in the world is? I say blah blah Meshuggah etc... When they ask ... who is your favorite drummer of all time. Mitch fucking Mitchell every time.
Yeah, You had it from the top, an' one hell of a job too. I know Jazzbo, you gonna say 'that's easy' cause I've never heard a Jazzbo bein' humble, but if you were the first, it wouldn't surprise me. Noice job, Vintage.
I look all the time at other drummers try to play this track and I think this is the only right way to play it. Great job
Thank you very much!
Please could we have more from Mitch and Hendrix, great playing and many thanks.
Thank you! I’ll do more for sure.
THAT drum sound & your right hand Feel on the ride; are FLAWLESS!!! From drummer to drummer... 🥁✌🏼😎♥️

Great cover and great skills. I really love your drum's sound: what about a tuning tutorial?

Mitch Mitchell was totally beyond his time

Outstanding!!! 602 ride?
Thank Terry! Yep, 602!
Is that a 20"'or 22"? It's got a great balance of wash and clean stick definition
It’s a 20” 60’s Paiste 602. Great cymbal!
@@vintagedrummer79 Man I love the 602 line.
