Such a musical drummer. Her touch is insane, very very fine. She doesn't beat, she plays the instrument. I love her so. Being a pretty little girl is part of the draw, there's nothing wrong with that and it's not a cut-down, just a compliment. But the thing is how intuitive she is on the set. She's a champion. Her timing on these Keith Moon bits is perfection.
Sina: I'm a 64-year-old, retired TV/video producer from NY & L.A. Worked with a lot of musicians. Seen more concerts of more top bands than I can remember. I started following your covers & originals about 3 years ago. Only wrote one comment before today, early on, telling you how extraordinary I thought your potential was. I fell behind on tracking your stuff for the past few months, but I'm finally catching up. After watching this, I can barely find the words. It's not about potential anymore, it's about mastery. There was a point -- I didn't note the time, I should have -- where you closed your eyes, leaned back, then threw yourself forward... and, suddenly, your hands were everywhere, and you became more than just the sum of your training and natural talent. You entered a space where you could do no wrong. I saw it. I've seen it before in the best drummers -- including Keith Moon. It was pure Zen. You have graduated. This doesn't mean you won't continue to learn. It doesn't mean you won't get better. It simply means that there is nothing ahead of you now but greatness. I think it's time for you to gather the right musicians around you, write some more material, and take your gift on the road. The world awaits. I would love to see you live. Thank you for the rare opportunity to be your audience and your fan, Sina.
Russell, I could not agree more. I first saw Sina's videos about 6 months ago. The first video of hers I saw was her reasoning why Ringo was a great drummer. I always thought of him being good, but not among the greats. When that video was done some 15 minutes or so later, she got me believing Ringo may have just been a great drummer. From there I went on to check this young lady's videos. My favorite band is The Who. I have always thought Moon to be one of the greatest, if not the greatest. I saw them with Moon at Madison Square Garden a couple of times in the 70's. I came across this video here and sat in awe. Sina gave respect to Moon. She did not create her own interpretation, she emulated him. The same can be said about her other videos and the artists she pays homage to. There is no doubt Sina has a bright and wonderful future ahead of her. Her collaboration with other artists of her age group gives me hope that the music we grew up with, what we know as classic rock, will continue to be passed down for generations to come. Russell, you and I are of that generation that witnessed first hand the beginnings of Rock 'n Roll. With that said, I know you mentioned her writing some new stuff and I agree, I would also love to see her in a classic rock band that played the songs of our youth. Peace.
Sina is an awesome drummer. Period. End of sentence. Do not add "for a girl." Do not add "for someone so young." Do not in any way diminish her talent by such offensive limitations. Her talent transcends age, sex, or any other pigeonholes. She is simply a mind-boggling, amazing drummer. I enjoy every moment of performances. Wishing you continued success and happiness, Sina.
I don't think most people can really appreciate how difficult this is to play; Keith Moon was as far from a conventional drummer as you could get. He did not play to establish a rhythm, he played along with the vocals or the main melody of the song. To him, drums were a lead instrument and he used his incredible speed to place fills in places where they weren't supposed to be, but he made them work. This song is full of them and the combination of constantly playing intricate fills along with keeping the beat with the added element of what is essentially a drum solo towards the end of the piece makes "Won't Get Fooled Again" one of the most complex drumming performances ever recorded - and she crushes it! Really amazing.
yes, Pete Townshend always stated that he (Pete) mainly was responsible for keeping the rhythm, and that Moon was 'something else'. Keith was indeed a lead drummer, just like Entwistle was a lead bass guitarist
@Jack D'Ripa can you do it? I can't. I've been a musician for 35 years and worked with some very talented people. This drummer is very very good. Watch what she does with other bands stuff before you make a poor judgement.
Very interesting comment. When I was trying to learn keys I had to "unlearn" following the vocals, I'm mainly a poet and the difference between words-with-music and music-with-words gobsmacked me. Moon is very much doing "talking drums" in this piece and it's an enlightening observation.
I had my doubts starting this video. I am a huge Who fan, and I know that nobody replaces Moon. This actually brought tears to my eyes. Thank you Sina for putting your heart and soul into this. I am amazed. Thank you!!!
Brad....I too am a big Who fan. Saw them a few times back in the day here in NY. I consider Quadrophenia one of the greatest if not the greatest rock album ever. I digress. When I saw Sina practically emulate Moon I was surprised. It is a tough song to drum like only Moon did. You see Sina grin at the interlude and again at the end. She too realizes she just played something special and nailed it.
As an old drummer who sadly can't hold a candle to Sina and also was fortunate enough to actually have seen the Who live in the 60's (when they used to smash their instruments) twice, I am TOTALLY amazed by her raw talent. At first when I saw her stick positions, I thought oh boy this is going to be rough, but soon threw that thought out the window once she started playing. Not sure how or where you learned to play, but you probably surpassed and smoked everyone around you. Thank you so much for taking some real classics to levels that few have ever gone. Rock-on girl!!!
I love this song, I love Keith Moon and his style, and I am really moved and excited by this perfect performance, it's like I could see Keith Moon playing. Thank you so much. Keep on rocking, you don't have just so much talent, you got the very attitude. --
Hi Steve - like you I was there - I was in a warm-up band called Macabre for the Who for about six months before they became really big in 1964 - so I saw Keith play a lot - so Sina is much neater than Keith and way more efficient. Keith could ring out a tee-shirt and 3/4 fill a pint glass he put that much into it.
I think everyone should remember that Keith Moon was considered one of the best rock drummers ever and Sina nails this song perfectly..... Just Fantastic !!!!
There is simply NO way i will ever get tired of watching this video. This video melts away sadness and depression. There is NO way to not feel alive and energized after watching this. Thank you for such an amazing 'pick me up' of a video.
Totally agree. Drumming in and of itself, while maybe not as complex as being a wizard on the guitar, is still more complex and difficult than many non-musicians imagine. Keeping steady time, a steady beat, is a big part of it, but not the only part.
Sina is a good example of the rewards that come with self discipline and focus, in her case being an extraordinary musician. But I think the biggest winner is the thousands of people who get to hear her play.
I’m just listening to this for the fourth time, it’s really brilliant. You really FEEL this piece and you’re playing it as well as Keith Moon, (but without wrecking your drum kit). John Entwhistle’s extraordinary bass line in the background helps put you right there on stage with The Who and I hope your talented rendering gets heard by the remaining band members.
Sina posted this video 5 years ago today (9 Nov 2023). It became my favorite then and it's still my favorite today even though she has done many great ones since then. It would be nice if Mike did a behind the scene video in it. There are many amazing things that Sina did while preforming it and it would be nice to see them in Hi Def.
If you can do Moon you're a titan. I've watched this a dozen or more times. It's my happy place. You, Sina, rock into this in pure Moon style. Hugs. Keep on doing you!
Bravissima! Just like that was the spirit with which Keith played the drums. The drum had a dynamics according to the progress of the song and emotions it only served to keep time but it was an instrument to be played at 360'...a live instrument that transmits emotion. This was how it was played in the 60s/70s. Now few drummers play it like this with their soul. Bye god luck.
I come back to hear this from time to time. This should have 32 million views, not 3.2. Keith Moon wasn't a drummer, he was a controlled explosion. I've never heard a drum cover of this song that came even close, and this is absolute perfection. Brilliantly played.
I've been a drummer for a long time, and Keith was my inspiration. Sina lays this perfectly, and with so much heart! This is literally the best drum cover I've ever seen.
Wowzer Sina.... talk about high energy, talk about a performance. This is one of your best and best part, not only did you slay this song, you seemed to thoroughly enjoy it. Your sticks were a blur..you came off your seat a few times.. Did you hurt those pretty new drums??? I have never seen you hit so hard, what power for a tiny girl. I watched you face..you seemed somewhere else..someplace special that that few drummers ever enter.. I sit here and laugh it was so good... you are an elite drummer and up with the vert best. I know you would never agree to that comment but to me...and many others you are, and you worked your butt off to be there. OUTSTANDING Sina. Spot on perfection, seriously. You tracked Keith Moon perfectly. What a treat you are for the eyes and ears.. BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO... I LOVED THIS.. You, young lady, are on a roll !!!!
At 49 years old, it's nice to see a young lady who appreciates good music and also has the talent of a superstar. It's crazy to see her play the drums.
You should be proud of yourself. You're playing drums with the best drummers rock and roll has ever produced and you're right there with them. If I could give you more than one thumbs up I would.
I like it in any musician to be proud of their talents, but she moves, in a way I can tell, so humbly. No sign of arrogance like the Keith Moon we know. No offense meant to one of my all-time favorite drummer.
There is something satisfying about watching this talented drummer flying all over the kit, bouncing off the stool, and throwing herself into the song. She looks like she's having fun!
Sina I am a 63 YEAR old man and I have been a crazy fan of THE WHO greatest rock and roll band ever ever. I seen THE WHO 5 TIME'S AND I don't know how to say how great you truly are. SINA it took you a lot I mean a lot of energy. I can't believe how really great you are. KEITH MOON WOULD LOVE TO BE ABLE TO SEE AND LISTEN TO YOU PLAYING THE DRUM'S IN THE WHO'S SONGS. AM NOT JUST SAYING THIS BECAUSE YOU ARE PLAYING MY MOST FAVORITE ROCK BAND OF ALL TIME. IT'S BECAUSE YOU KICK ASS YOUNG LADY. SUPER JUST SUPER. THANK YOU FOR GIVING THIS OLD MAN A REASON TO SMILE TODAY. YOU TOOK ME BACK TO THE. MID-70S WHEN KEITH MOON WAS STILL ALIVE AND KILLING IT ON THE DRUM'S. REALLY FROM MY HEART THANK YOU SWEETHEART. DON'T YOU EVER STOP CHASING YOUR DREAM. KEITH MOON IS THE GREATEST DRUMMER OF ALL TIME AND YOU JUST MATCHED HIM. THANKS
Keith Moon was considered off dead center because of his ability to add more than any other drummer to a song. Watching you play proved he was beyond all the rest. It would appear you are standing next to him. I'm so happy I got to see and hear you play. What a privilege and an honor to hear your talent. Thank you.
This young lady not only did the song justice, but uncannily recreated the drumming style of Keith Moon himself! Keith never used a high-hat, only cymbals. In this video you see Sina keeping her foot on the high-hat very still, thus using it like it was just another cymbal. She also matches Keith's frenetic style of drumming to a T (Arms flailing, bouncing on the stool, etc.)! All she needed was wild, wide-open eyes, and she would have been Keith Moon incarnate! Excellent job young lady .... I tip my high-hat to you! LOL
Okay, what I should have said is .... Keith did have a hi-hat in later years, but he rarely used it. Here is an article from MusicRadar titled "10 things you didn't know about Keith Moon." "He didn't use hi-hats much … A unique element to Keith’s (early) set-ups was the lack of hi-hat. He did add a hi-hat in later years, but it wasn’t a big part of his drumset. Predominantly he used a lot of ride and a lot of crash. A good example of this is in the ‘Who Are You’ video of the band in the studio, and for the hi-hat 16ths, Keith is leaning over to the hi-hat set to his right."
Since Sina posted this exceptional performance, I've revisited this video MANY times. Still, the hair on the back of my neck & arms stands up...with cold-chills through my body. I've been a drummer since I was 10 years old. I'm now 64 years old & still beat the skins. As God as my witness, Sina is "channelling" Keith...as she performs this WHO song. Her cover of Keith is absolutely flawless...as I've commented before. Kindest regards, Ben
If you follow Sina closely you will see that she frequently "channels" Kieth Moon, even in non Who songs. Sometimes she plays to the vocals, or lead or bass guitar; treating her drums like a melody instrument. She has mentioned this once or twice in her blog; Come Sail Away comes to mind, but I've seen bits of it in Sultans and many other videos. Check out the second half of Sail Away and see if you agree: ua-cam.com/video/rW9ZBy0KTj8/v-deo.html
This is about the tenth time I've watched this video, and of all vids by this unbelievably talented young lady, this homage to Keith Moon is the most outstanding. Absolutely brilliant, and the Union Jack top is a wonderful choice. Watching a girl totally own what is perceived to be a male bastion in rock music is so refreshing, I know that there are some great female rock musicians, but to cover this number in such a devastatingly effective manner is awesome. Keep it up girl.
Amazing. It also makes me think just what a great band The Who was with Keith Moon, John Entwistle, Roger Daltrey, and Pete Townshend. Each masterfully adding to the song. Watching Sina also reminds me how integral the drums are to rock music. Great to see young folks like Sina are carrying on the tradition and adding to it
This is an amazing cover and tribute to the world's greatest rock drummer....not a lot of people can do what this young lady just did.. she damn near has the same thunder and emotion that Kieth Moon put into this song....I am 70 year old bass player and I am totally impressed and just blown away With this young ladies drumming....very well done.
WOW!!!!!!!! I'm a 72 year old female and don't know how to play any musical instruments, but I love music. You were really into this song. I didn't want to even blink, because I was waiting to see a cymbal go flying or you beat a hole in those drums. Such perfection and gusto. I think I need an energy drink after watching you. You are so good you made me tired. Please, keep up the perfect performances. I love watching them ALL!
Sina spends more time off her seat in this video than any other I've seen. A true tribute to the energy of the Moon man. An outstanding performance by Sina.
!!!!OMG!!!!...JESUS, MARY & JOSEPH!!!! I've watched this countless times...and my eyes still fill with tears of joy. You can "feel" Keith possess Sina in each beat. This is a VERY DIFFICULT piece to "accurately" cover on drums. Never-the-less Sina...."YOU" nailed it...ever-so perfectly. Kind regards, Ben
I love how you can see the rhythm moving through her whole body. She's feeling ALL of the music. And on that last note, I wanted to jump up and applaud and cheer the spectacular SINA!
I often hesitate to comment as I just don't have the vocab to do you justice Sina. To say I get so much joy from your music and appreciate you so much is totally underselling it. Impressive is not good enough a word for your outstanding skills, and well to be speachless is not uncommon when in awe of all you do. Thank you Sina. Now I know of you music would just never be the same without you. I can't thank you enough for enriching music for me and so very many others. Thank you Thank you Thank you.
Welcome back to the stage Keith Moon! That was incredible. I literally wore this album out growing up. When I close my eyes, I’m right back there, hearing who is, IMO, one of the best drummers of all time. When I open them, I need to wipe away the tears. Thank you! Your smile at the end says it all, hope you never stop playing.
As good as she is, and she is VERY good, Carl Palmer's work on Karn Evil 9 is probably beyond her capabilities, which is no knock on her, as his work is pretty much beyond anyone else's capabilities. I would love to see her try, though. And Bonham's Moby Dick.
You know damned well that any drummer from today would play this with a straight beat. She's a beast. Plays like Moon perfectly with runs and fills everywhere. I'm from that generation and I bow to her.
I have been burning thru your videos. I am now convinced you are the best drummer I have EVER heard. And I grew up in the 60's listening to a TON of great talent. That you can nail the styles of so many of the greats...I have NEVER seen this before. You are literally musical gold. You deserve to make a ton of money in the music business. You are so much better than anyone else and you are a REAL musician playing REAL instruments. Best of luck!!!
Years ago, I was lucky enough to have the chance to sit in a studio with a producer friend of mine and listen to Moon's tracks from Who's Next with everything else on mute. Just the drums. Beneath all the bombast, I learned there were so many little nuances in his playing that get lost in the mix when the full band is up. That said, Sina you have done an absolutely incredible job of replicating his parts and really nailed the spirit and energy of his style. Much respect to you. Keep those gear endorsements rolling in. You deserve it.
Best drum cover I’ve ever seen on UA-cam. There was a point where you entered that zone where master musicians go...and channeled Mr. moon. Just fucking amazing!
I came back to this video on the anniversary of its release and watched it again. Even though I know the song really well I’m amazed at how Sina gets those powerful strokes in after the extended synthesiser parts. As an indication of how energetically she’s hitting the drums, there’s a bit toward the end where she has a moment to move her hi-hat back into position. Absolutely brilliant ❤
Lee, Sina has said that when she makes a video she usually does several takes and uses the best parts in the final. I have watched this video well over 500 times and my guess is that this was done in 2 or 3 parts. If you watch the Hi-hat position at 6:25 and again after the break at 6:59 you will find it at the same location. I suspect that they switched to the last segment because it was the best and most dramatic with Sina flying up off her seat. The Hi-hat move was just a bonus. There are a few other interesting things that happen in this video, like a miss on the right crash, but it's still my favorite and one of her best.
So many kind things said about you and your drumming. When Keith passed away it was a very sad day in my own personal world of music I was just starting to enjoy the music as teen and The Who were one of my favourite bands. I didn't think I would ever hear anyone who could play as good or even better that him in his crazy style. The who have had some great drummers Kenny Jones ,Zak Starkey. I think in my view you would easily be able to fill the shoes of any of these truly great drummers. Your an amazing talented drummer please keep it up. The world is your oyster. Thanks for an amazing video. I closed my eyes and I could of been listening to Keith play. thanks x
Sina, What a remarkable performance. The Union Jack shirt is a nice touch. I am stunned eight and a half minutes of pure magic. What an outstanding tribute to Keith Moon of the Who. You generated so much energy with your performance it was hard to sit still I can't get over your playing you amaze me week after week thank you so much. To me this is one of your best performances sheer talent over 8 minutes loved it.You generate so much power when you play you came off your stool a couple of times.
Sina... What a great song to wake up to! When I saw the notification, my heart started beating faster in anticipation of what I knew was going to be a great video. I was not disappointed. I had to watch twice, right off, because my eyes teared up in sheer joy the first time, watching you pay tribute to Keith Moon. I was 17 years old when this song came out. Playing in garage bands. We sucked so badly it hurt the ears! I had to play bass because no one else wanted to. We sound proofed my friends basement and played down there before I gave it up because I liked riding and working on motorcycles more. But, to the point. We had a drummer who was a little younger than me by a year or two. But the sheer energy of this guy was incredible! His hero was of course Keith Moon. This kid was good. He was better by far than any of the rest of us were. Me and the guitarist were playing full stack Marshall and Ampeg tube amps. He easily kept up with us in volume un-miced. We didn't know how to, or could afford a proper set of mics for a drum kit. I'll never forget him. He broke so many skins from his animal attacks on them, we all pitched in and helped him keep his kit in order. Any way, here we are today and you are playing a cover of what was the anthem of my generation. (No pun intended) I have not read anything but Juliet's comment yet but I'm sure most of them are saying the same as me. Great job Sina! You are truly a world class drummer. Aside from your training in a drum academy, you really listen to many other drummers to figure out what they are doing. Just like a guitarist studies other great and famous guitarists. You take the licks you want and incorporate them into your style. And you do have your own style. We have seen you can play anything. From Salsa to jazz to uncommon rhythm patterns. You can play anything. Sina, I wish all the success in the world for you. You truly deserve it. Best Regards... 🎶
Sina, I'm not sure where to start really. I have never subscribed to or joined (I just joined yours a half an hour ago) a youtube channel, but I have watched many of them in various topics over the years. They have helped my fix my car, clothes dryer, and a hundred other things. I have watch a ton of music videos as well... ...then I came across your channel...a week ago... The first cover I watched you do was "Radar Love" and since then, I've watched as many of them as time allows in my day. You sold me with your "What makes Ringo a Great drummer" tribute. The comment by Russell Firestone could not be more correct. It is, in fact, perfect. I am not in the music business, but my ear knows what it likes. I too, am 64 and grew up with this music. To be a teenager in the late 60's, early 70's was a golden age to me and I would not give up living in those times for anything. My step-father was a concert promoter in the North San Francisco Bay Area (not very good, but he tried) from about '67 to '69 and I saw many concerts up close, but had no idea what I was really watching at the time--the things we take for granted. You, your family and friends, playing what and how you play, will preserve this amazing music and breathe life back into old souls who may have thought life has passed them by until they see the young lady who will lift them up again. Each one of the drummers in these awesome bands developed their own style and skills over many years and the thing that amazes me is that you BECOME that drummer for a specific song. The DNA in every cell in your body changes to become that person until the song is over and then your smile takes over and returns you to the present. What a singularly unique talent to have as you develop your own style that some young person will aspire to learn fifty years from now. Thank you and Bless you, young lady.
This has to be my favorite Who song, undoubtedly for the percussion. I closed my eyes and saw Keith playing it. Sina has power and soul and of course, technique. She doesn't just play the tunes, she channels the artists. Every time I listen to her I learn something new. She is a breath of fresh air!
This is absolutely fabulous Sina!!! What a great tribute to Keith Moon! You did an amazing job covering My Generation a while back. Today, you topped that!!! I LOVE this!!!
One of the most complex drummers to follow and one of the most iconic rock songs of all time. It’s hard enough to keep track of the beat in my head, so it’s astonishing to hear and watch you play. You’re on another level Sina. It goes without saying that you are one of the finest drummers in the world today. If you have a break or vacation coming up, I’d say it’s well deserved. You’ve only risen to higher caliber with each song you master, and this one is one of those that only the most skilled drummers can tackle. You did it with precision and style. Bravo Sina bravo! 👏🏻 💯
It's Friday - TGIF - No Foolin' THE SONG - "Won't Get Fooled Again" was written by Pete Townshend. It was originally intended for another rock opera project called 'Lifehouse' which was eventually abandoned. Recording began as early as March 1971 in New York but, except for Townshend's Lowrey organ / ARP synth track, was re-done at various locations in the UK with recording engineer Glyn Johns helping in the production throughout April and May. Keith Moon had to carefully synchronize his drum playing with the synthesizer, while Townshend and Entwistle played electric guitar and bass. Townshend said, "“Keith could play to a prerecorded tempo exceptionally well, something that every good drummer can do today, but was unheard of in 1971.” The track was finally mixed by Johns on May 28. It was released as a 3:35 single on June 25, 1971 in the UK and in July in the US. The full length 8:32 version appeared as the final track of 'Who's Next', the band's fifth studio album, which was released in the US on Aug 14, 1971 and eleven days later in the UK. "Won't Get Fooled Again" entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart at #76 on July 17, 1971. It peaked at #15 on Sep 18, 1971, briefly holding that place until the 25th, and was last seen at #33 on Oct 9, 1971 spending 13 weeks on the chart. The album 'Who's Next', with the long version, peaked at #4 on the Billboard 200 chart on Sep 11, 1971 and spent a total of 42 weeks on that chart. The song's lyrics describe a revolution - the verses tell of an uprising, an overthrow, and the realization that, in the end, nothing really changed - "the new boss, same as the old boss". Whoever takes power becomes corrupt. In his biography, Townshend said the song was anti-establishment but that revolution was pointless - "It's not going to change anything in the long run, and people are going to get hurt." THE DRUMMER - Keith Moon discovered drums around age 13, playing first on a friend's set and then a cheap set his father bought. He was completely self-taught. He reportedly never took lessons, couldn't read music and rarely, if ever, practiced. He simply seized the sticks and began to play. He started playing professionally with surf bands and was a fan of The Beach Boys, Jan and Dean, and Elvis. He was also influenced by big band drummers like Buddy Rich and Gene Krupa. In 1972, he told 'Melody Maker' "I had just been copying straight from the records, but with the Who I had to develop a style of my own." He also developed a penchant for showmanship and his excesses, particularly when fueled by alcohol and drugs, were legendary. Not only was his style unique, so were his equipment choices. His setup sometimes consisted of 18 drums. He preferred the kick drum front heads off, used a combination of single headed and double headed toms, many cymbals, and his hi-hat was permanently locked in an almost closed position. He drummed with wild abandon. Often, instead of a regular groove, he played so many complex rolls and fills that he seemed to be soloing. He hated drum solos, telling 'Melody Maker' in 1975, “Drum solos are the most boring time-consuming things. I don’t think of the drums as a solo instrument. Drums are there to set the beat for the music.” Despite that, Moon remarked that many drummers “don’t paint with the kit. That’s what I like doing. I like painting, adding color and effects and shocking people. Constantly, while I’m playing, I’m thinking two bars ahead. That gives me a chance, if I’m in the middle of a roll, to do something I’ve already thought out so I can get out of the roll…” Sina has covered Moon's playing twice, in "My Generation" and "Pinball Wizard". Still, it's always a challenge and Rosanna asked her about it. RO: Compared to the restrained precision of Roger Taylor, Keith Moon was the exact opposite. What was your approach for this cover? SINA: It's very hard for me to explain how I try to cover Keith Moon. I try to understand why he did the things he did, how it felt for him. I asked myself: How would I play when I had waaay too much energy and I didn't know where to put it. Keith put all of his spare energy into the drumset. I listened to Won't Get Fooled Again and tried to memorise the fills I liked most. Keith gets wilder towards the end of the song and I also tried to do so. But most of the fills I played are improvised and more 'in the style of' Keith Moon. RO: Keith's drum kit and setup were so unique. You use a more traditional kit. How did you compensate? SINA: I never played a drumkit without a hihat and can't really imagine what that would be like. When I cover Keith Moon I forget that he has such a weird setup and just play what I hear and feel on my regular drumkit. FUN FACTS: The title isn't actually used in the song since "don't" is substituted for "won't" in the lyrics. Portions of "Won't Get Fooled Again" were used as the theme song of the popular US TV show 'CSI:Miami' during its 10 season run. THE ICON - Niki is back in charge, to everyone's relief!
Another one of your always fine jobs sharing background info - by that providing additional delight in Sina's renditions. Thanks again, Juliet! - Best wishes - Stephen
Juliet and Rosanna: you are the beautiful birdsong rising above the cacophony that is the internet and I love you! Hope Ro's interviews become a fixture in your column. Finally, an interviewer that asks good questions! Bravo.
Are you a professional writer with the IQ of a genius? Each Friday ,when you are able to put out an in depth analysis... it makes watching Sina performance infinitely more meaningful. Bye
TGIF, Juliet and Ro! Very intriguing and complex history behind this one. Very nice and easy to read though, thanks to your impeccable writing style! And the interview is even more fascinating! :)
Amazing how someone makes a great video, and here comes the critics! I'm a 60 year old professional musician, who has seen much over the years. I love seeing these kinds of videos, young people, full of talent, showing off their chops by covering some of musics greats. Sina, you're awesome, keep up the good work, live your dreams, and above all, ignore the haters and the destructive critics. Man, wish they had UA-cam when I was a kid...LOL
I listened to this and the original back to back and Sina, yours is a fantastic performance. Really, it's hard to tell the difference. The only thing I can hear is Keith hits the drums harder because he's a bloke and probably on the white lines, but what you did here is absolutely fantastic. Honestly, for any drummer to attempt that has my admiration but you really are a fantastic drummer and could play in Zep, Who, no worries. You are really talented.
I've heard that song hundreds of times in my life. This Who album I think was the second or third album I've ever had. I never realize how technically complex the drumming was till I watch this. Amazing, amazing job Miss Sina! Bravo!!!
Sina, I've seen a lot of young drummers play and many are awesome. But your playing offers utter commitment to your craft, which is obvious by way of how you involve yourself in a song. That speaks volumes. You're going places, kid, and I hope those places make you into an international icon!!!
As a rock drummer for 51 years, I can safely say this was a treat. I'd have played it a bit different, but that was what was so good about Moonie, he was all over the tom toms. This kind of rock, like Led Zepplin, lends itself to each band member doing his thing, adding his shit to the song that makes him stand out. She's good for sure.
No other word for this but perfection. U completely nailed Keith Moon's genius. U did him so proud it was almost I was watching him bang away at his drums.
Keith Moon, in my mind, was one of the very best drummers ever. Sina just nailed it - again. She has a unique feel for music and playing the drums. The accuracy with which she covers these difficult songs is truly amazing!
Hello Randy, I couldn't agree more. She is truly amazing...an artist. Nothing less than pure perfection. I admire her for not shying-away from these very complicated drum covers. Kind regards, Ben
@@duygukayhanisaskank4915 Absolutely. She has taken on so many songs with complex drum parts and nailed every one. For someone so young, that is incredible. So nice to see these kids who are talented and work hard at their music.
@@randystebbins5733 THANKS for your reply Randy. I've been a drummer since 10 years old. ( about 50 years ) Believe me, I can play along with any song. Including "this" one. But no-where near to Keiths' rendition. On her worst day, Sina can out-drum me on my best day :- ) I have never been able to master any drum parts as skillfully as Sina constantly does on her drum-covers. No-doubt she will continue to hone her skills, form a band of equally talented musicians & tour a bit. It would be amazing to see her in concert. I'd be the first person in line to buy a ticket :- )) Kind regards, Ben
@@duygukayhanisaskank4915 I'd be there with you. I also play drums, but only for about 15 years. (Started late - I'm 66 years old) :) I have played for different worship groups. Also play piano regularly at church. I also love to play along with songs on youtube and do okay. But when someone as young as Sina nails those drum covers every time, I am amazed. She is a special talent.
@@randystebbins5733 I completely agree. Sina has a "God-given" talent. BTW: Her father is a talented musician as well. He toured in a very popular, Beatles "look-a-like" band. I "think" he played the part of John. Kind regards, Ben
One of your very best tributes -- and that is no small accomplishment! Beyond outstanding. Thanks for revisiting The Who and giving this excellent drum cover!
Incredible. Your cover is splendid from start to finish, but the way you have to blow yourself out of your seat to mimic Moon's bass, yet still keep your time and your tempo perfectly is beyond amazing. It's sublime. Hit the BIG TIME girl! You've earned it!
The other thing that makes her good is it's clear that she's also playing to the guitar and bass (example 2:42 how she accents with the guitar) and not just trying to mimic the drum parts so she throws in her own abilities. Moon is impossible for anyone to match exactly, he never did anything the same way twice.
That's not easy at all. God bless Keith Moon, the drum master, and Sina for keeping this alive. THIS is Rock n Roll. THIS is how to play. Great, great job!
This is absolutely remarkable! Keith Moon was so unpredictable with this drumming patterns, you pulled this off amazingly. You have a true talent, don’t ever give up.❤️
Man! I forgot Id seen one of her vids a little while away and was awed. Just noticed this vid in some feed or the other and came to see this one too. Blown away. The Who are one of all time favourite bands. The depths of some of their songs, Raw emotion, the incredible virtuosity of their performances, with the *wrong* instruments taking the lead :) The drumming in this is one of my favourites. Carried me through some pretty rough periods of my youth. Then there is this..... wow This is at that level, whatever her age, just imagine this level of playing, even more honed in a few years. Sweet Jesus, She is a fabulous drummer NOW! And this so, so, so did this song justice. And in tribute to Keith. Respect! Just keep doing what you're doing Sina and go where you go with it, wherever that is, will be a better place for having had you pass through.
I used to listen to this amazing classic by the Who upon release. Listened to every note. Sina, what can I say ? One of her best, I believe, she puts so much blazing drums, not over done, just enough to absorb and enjoy to the full. I love the keyboard and the drums fill and the scream. It's just one of the best songs in rock and roll. Sina does it justice and more.
Honestly, I cant stop laughing... Sina has dedicated this incredible and difficult song to Keith Moon, however, and please don't hate me for saying this, I grew up in London listening to Rock and Indie Music and hearing pure perfection in what I was listening to, Hendrix, Nirvana, the Rolling Stones, the Beatles. Sina is the best drummer I have ever heard! Her love for what she does is incredible, and her talent.... long may it continue. She is a pure ROCK STAR
Absolutely the truth best drummer on the planet , 3years now watching her grow so much talent . This is dedication God Bless Sina #1 ❤️😎🇺🇸from Detroit 👍

What could any Who lover say? OMG!! I’m 72 and this performance blows my mind….perfection.
The world needs musicians like that.
This enthusiasm and passion is great!
Keith Moon would be proud of you!
Go on like that.
Thanks so much, Russel, appreciated a lot!!
You're welcome. The pleasure is all mine. :)

Edward was preemptively saying that, before anyone mentioned those titles and applied them to her. How could you not understand that? 🤷🏻♂️😬🙄🤦🏻♂️
Well said. Best. Period.
@Jack D'Ripa how many likes did your video of this get? 🤔
@Jack D'Ripa could you do it when you were 19 years old? 🤔
Very interesting comment. When I was trying to learn keys I had to "unlearn" following the vocals, I'm mainly a poet and the difference between words-with-music and music-with-words gobsmacked me. Moon is very much doing "talking drums" in this piece and it's an enlightening observation.
Do not diminish her talent. This young lady is real. Breathtakingly real!
Anyone that can cover Keith Moon is a beast, end of story.
Who's diminishing her talent? She's awesome.
Having seen Keith Moon do this live, more than once, I can only tip my hat. What a talent.
You never saw The Who do this live.

Awesome experiences you’ve had

Hi Steve - like you I was there - I was in a warm-up band called Macabre for the Who for about six months before they became really big in 1964 - so I saw Keith play a lot - so Sina is much neater than Keith and way more efficient. Keith could ring out a tee-shirt and 3/4 fill a pint glass he put that much into it.
I think everyone should remember that Keith Moon was considered one of the best rock drummers ever and Sina nails this song perfectly..... Just Fantastic !!!!

Sina is truly gifted. This is not an easy cover by any means. She just kills it.
John Entwhistle’s extraordinary bass line in the background helps put you right there on stage with The Who and I hope your talented rendering gets heard by the remaining band members.

if You can do Moon you're a titan . wise words.

Here is an article from MusicRadar titled "10 things you didn't know about Keith Moon."
"He didn't use hi-hats much …
A unique element to Keith’s (early) set-ups was the lack of hi-hat.
She definitely channeled Keith Moon, mannerisms, you would think it was him if she was not so Cute !

Totally agree, I can't fathom how she can memorize every hit. Started thinking maybe she is Keith reincarnated.

WOW! What amazing talent. This girl is a rocker and when she sits behind her drum kit there is magic in her playing. A true musical genius.
As I watched, I could feel myself getting emotional seeing such God given talent on stunning display. I’m in awe of you Sina!
no such thing as god given talent...the girl taught herself how to play, no "god" helped her. Please dont spread your cult religion rubbish here
Same here!
Great job. Keith will be looking down and smiling
I think he would, too.
It would be insane to hear her do some Gene Krupa covers.
from the pub
I've watched and listened to a dozen or more of Sina's amazing drumming videos and now have a whole new level of respect for all drummers.
Damn she's good. Great demonstration of Keith Moon's unique drumming style. Well done.
I love the Ringo seßion and this too. You show the incredible musicality of the drummers.
I closed my eyes and I could of been listening to Keith play. thanks x
Un peu exagéré! Elle n'arrive pas à la cheville de Keith!
@@bernarddiaz1766 Don 't compare: she is she - he is he. That s all
Sina, What a remarkable performance.
OH MY GOD, PERFECTION!!
This girl rocks on the skins, impeccable timing. Watched it at least 10 times. Extremely impressive.
All your videos are great. Especially this one, loved km and the who
No matter how many times I watch and listen to Sina she always brightens my day and brings a smile to my face.
She Rocks my World!!!. Go Sina and take on the World!!!
Thanks John, so nice!!
My God. WOW. She is crazy. One of the best drummers in the world.
I've must have played this more than 1000 times over the last few years, my fav Sina vid. Never fails to fire me up.
You kick ass! Keith would be proud. And you have a new fan. I wish you all the best.
Now that boys and girls,is how you do it ! What a performance! Sina, the best! YOU ROCK!!!!🥁🤟
Just seen this! Eight and a half minutes of sheer brilliance and joy. Seeing your talent and passion brought tears to my eyes. Superb. Bravo!!
This is absolutely fabulous Sina!!! What a great tribute to Keith Moon! You did an amazing job covering My Generation a while back. Today, you topped that!!! I LOVE this!!!
@al brown
Amen to that re: your comment
This is my absolute favourite cover by Sina - I even play it in the background whenever I am working! Let's have even more covers from The Who please?
I'm at a loss for words. I'm fortunate to have come across this. It's inspired and inspiring. Thank you.
great job brings back a lot of good memories rock on SINA
One of the most complex drummers to follow and one of the most iconic rock songs of all time. It’s hard enough to keep track of the beat in my head, so it’s astonishing to hear and watch you play. You’re on another level Sina.
It goes without saying that you are one of the finest drummers in the world today. If you have a break or vacation coming up, I’d say it’s well deserved. You’ve only risen to higher caliber with each song you master, and this one is one of those that only the most skilled drummers can tackle. You did it with precision and style. Bravo Sina bravo! 👏🏻 💯
It's Friday - TGIF - No Foolin'
THE SONG - "Won't Get Fooled Again" was written by Pete Townshend.
Townshend said, "“Keith could play to a prerecorded tempo exceptionally well, something that every good drummer can do today, but was unheard of in 1971.”
The track was finally mixed by Johns on May 28.
In his biography, Townshend said the song was anti-establishment but that revolution was pointless - "It's not going to change anything in the long run, and people are going to get hurt."
THE DRUMMER - Keith Moon discovered drums around age 13, playing first on a friend's set and then a cheap set his father bought.
Drums are there to set the beat for the music.”
Despite that, Moon remarked that many drummers “don’t paint with the kit. That’s what I like doing. I like painting, adding color and effects and shocking people. Constantly, while I’m playing, I’m thinking two bars ahead. That gives me a chance, if I’m in the middle of a roll, to do something I’ve already thought out so I can get out of the roll…”
Sina has covered Moon's playing twice, in "My Generation" and "Pinball Wizard".
Thank you for the history of the song & as usual an excellent drum cover of an iconic ROCK song
( about 50 years )
Believe me, I can play along with any song. Including "this" one. But no-where near to Keiths' rendition.
On her worst day, Sina can out-drum me on my best day :- )
I have never been able to master any drum parts as skillfully as Sina constantly does on her drum-covers.
No-doubt she will continue to hone her skills, form a band of equally talented musicians & tour a bit.
It would be amazing to see her in concert. I'd be the first person in line to buy a ticket :- ))
Kind regards, Ben
Can't agree with you more (or say it any better).
Amazing performance. Spectacular. Keith would be proud. I got the chills towards the end when he yells yeahhh!!!!
This girl is a drumming beast!!! She is destined for greatness.....just watch! Love my Sina!
That's not easy at all. God bless Keith Moon, the drum master, and Sina for keeping this alive. THIS is Rock n Roll. THIS is how to play. Great, great job!
The only irritating thing here is:
YOU MAKE IT LOOK SO SIMPLE!
But WOW, this was a great treat! Thank you, girl. You RULE!
Very true :-)
I hate it when a 14 yr. old girl makes Keith Moon drumming look easy ....
I think your totality is awesome. Talent, music choices, mixes, production & entertainment value are far ahead. You are truly special.
Then there is this..... wow
This is at that level, whatever her age, just imagine this level of playing, even more honed in a few years. Sweet Jesus, She is a fabulous drummer NOW!
And this so, so, so did this song justice.
And in tribute to Keith.
Respect!
Just keep doing what you're doing Sina and go where you go with it, wherever that is, will be a better place for having had you pass through.
One of my favourite songs, with my favourite drummer. You would have made Keith proud, you did it real justice. Amazing.
So so hard to emulate Keith Moon. Nobody played like him, not even himself on a different day! But girl you nailed it. Awesome! I'll tip my hat....
Isn't she great I would love to see her play with Rodger and Pete
Make a painter happy.
She sure did.
Kenny Jones couldn't even do Moon justice.
It's true....it's imposible to emulate with dignity the powerfull style of Mr. Moon....
Stay safe in Detroit my friend. Best wishes from England :)
Thank you Ian will do God Bless in England my friend and you stay safe as well WWG1 WGA 🇺🇸😄🙏😎
Jon Bartolone ...the best drummer on the planet? You REALLY think that??? Wow! You are a real big fan...No doubt...ouf!
yeah.... wow I saw Karen Carpenter with her brother in 1972 in Sacramento/ Totally different type of music (many hits ) played the drums and sang like a bird.
Sina, you did a marvelous job, excellent. Kieth Moon is looking down at you with the the BIGGEST smile !!!!!!!!
Ya' know Sina... I Thank YOU for bringing me back to a time when I had Not a care in the World, Life was Good and I was Rockin' and Rollin' allover NYC where I grew up. Because of You, I've revisited many songs of my youth. I saw the WHO at Madison Square Garden in 1979 ... this was after Keith died and I was so hooked on Quadrophenia, what I consider their Best Album. And you've had me revisit So Much More.
You are SO Amazingly talented and I Wish You ALL God's Blessings in your Journey in Life and All the other Fine Amazingly Talented people you have introduced to the world. I Especially LOVE Lauren (RENforshort) and Wish her Love and Success. I just Pray you girls are Wise and stay FAR Away from the Dark Side of the business, NOTHING is worth your Eternal Soul, Please Protect Yourselves and Don't chase the Lie for Fame and Fortune... Well said. I too pray for these young talents...that they stay protected from the excesses of the "dark side"...We lost so many, way too soon.
That was simply AMAZING!!! I love when I see young people listening to and learning about REAL rock..my Goodness that was So incredible!! Keith Moon is a Busy Drummer too! He throws a lot of off beats in on his fills...Man that Rocked!! Keep Rockin Sina!
This video literally brought tears to my eyes. My God - the beautiful and compicated artistry that the human being is capable of is shocking. So young, so brilliantly talented
WOW WOW WOW🎉 You absolutely NAILED IT, capturing the power and Moon attitude. This is my favorite drum video of all. BEAUTIFULLY DONE. Thank you so much!
I think a lot of us are aware of how well you can play, but this video shows how capable you are at expressing the proper attitude of a song. Please don’t stop. You’re showing us something special.
