keeping my thoughts under wraps tonight
keeping my feelings to myself
and i'm already broken hearted
so let's get this party started
the darkness comes with you
with longing and desire
your anger burns inside your eyes
they flash like burning coal
get out your head get out your head
try not to think be cool be calm be fake
dumb yourself down numb yourself out
fake it till you make it break
make the world black out
all the hurt you nurse inside
you'd better cough it up
beautiful like shards of glass
in your throat they'll cut you up
that was such a wicked thing to say
that was such a spiteful thing to do
you smile as the words spew out your mouth
so i laugh in your face right back at you
there's no reward for men who weep
no medals given out
but better be the one who speaks
than be the man who won't
we all blackout
get out your head get out your head
we all blackout
I love hearing Shireys "Oh lololo"s in the background
scrolled down and saw your comment just as one was gracing my earwaves. so cool. not superstitious, just good timing!
This one is my favorite from Strange Little birds
Be still my heart Garbage is back... and in style!
I love hwr
The entire album is a gem 🙏🙌💪❤️
naah
@Klowurm900 Uh, YEAH actually, quit being a typical LIBERAL snowflake Democrat 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡💩💩💩💩💩💩 Daddy Biden must of sent you here to this comment section, am I right? 🙄🙄🙄🙄
Just fucking amazing! This is the type of music you actually feel. This is what gets you through the days that you think you can’t get through.
Garbage is the modern day new wave rock band. Shirley's voice and keyboard melody is so contagious.
GreenOlivia I disagree! Phantogram, iron Tom, Death cab for cutie, deaftones, Cold War kids, Those bands mentioned. Sound very much modern Nu- Wave Rock... Or better known as NU- metal. Garbage, would represent more modern punk New Wave! I'm not really sure you understand what modern New Wave even sounds like bro...
@@erictaylor1770 mm, modern pink really? I realize yr comment is years ago but I don't think Garbage would be considered "modern punk" though I do 100% agree that what the band does on a daily basis is Beyond Punk
Been a fan since the first album came out. My oldest bro turned me on to Garbage. I'm so glad this band exists. Every song is so damn good
Love that bass and the dark atmosphere of this song. It's really powerfull. Not to mention Live, It blows your head and smash your ears.
muebleoalgo I love how it all unfolds at the end and melds together so seamlessly
2020 still this song is everything to me through lockdown
Chanson à part, une réussite. Les sons et chants en fond sont très réussis. Merci Garbage !
Got a strange feeling listening to this great song. Know the band since i was a kid. Strange when not only you grew up.
I'm just listening to this album for the first time and only three track in I'm LOVING it! There are fleeting moments where, to me, the vocals are reminiscent of Blondie (like that "whoaaaa" at 4:25)- yet still unmistakably Shirley.
🐦 Strange Little Birds 🐦 is my 2nd favorite right after BeautifulGarbage such an amazing album from start to finish
This track is amazing. The bass at the start is haunting and i love it!
Best track on the album. That bassline (guitar effect?) in the verses is awesomely sinister.
I agree .
great it reminds me of nights in clubs 80's
I agree, too. This Band is awesome.
eric avery on the bass here
I agree. It’s my favorite track on the album because of it. And Shirley’s voice during the verses.
I think this one has a huge single potential. And it would be soooo cool to have a video released as well. You never know
...:-)
Best song on the album. And my favorite song of 2016. Should have its own music video.
Супер вещь! Вообще их люблю.
there's no reward for men who weep! no metals given out.. saw them live in boston 2018 loved them garbage rocks
a smouldering masterpiece
Very Siouxsie and the Banshees. Best on the album for me.
Yeah man- that bass is very Steve Severin
+mario spezzi The Cure is actually my favorite band of all time and I didn't notice the similarity of the bass line to that of "A Forest" until reading your comment... although I would disagree that it's copied. I still think if it's copping anyone, it's Steve Severin of the Banshees in a general stylistic and tonal sense. But I see it more as an homage... that's just my opinion. Shirley is a huge fan of Siouxsie- her chanting in the chorus of "Empty" (about... about... oh... oh....) is a straight up impersonation of Siouxsie... and dead on. I've noticed that Shirley seems to channel the voices of her beloved influences at times... and dead on... Like Chrissie Hynde and Blondie (see the "Whoaaaa! at 4:25 of this song.) But she's got such an amazingly beautiful and unique voice of her own that she can get away with sneaking those in as loving tributes.
That was exactly my thought as well.
I was going with older Cure but I think were on the same page.
Great song. Was at their show 2 days ago and loved it. This totally reminds me of old Cure stuff.
The quality of the songs has increased with each of the past three albums..better and better! What else can you ask for?
They should make a video of this amazing track!
I’m surprised the didn’t. It’s far superior than Magnetized.
Love this song so much... 💙
The whole album rocks. You guys keep it coming!
I love this track!
Top three amazing Garbage albums
Garbage 1995
Version 2.0 1998
Strange Little Birds 2016
Good old Garbage is back :)
But of course I like all of there albums.
But these three are my absolute favourite albums.
you know what, I think I agree. I lost them after 2000, I thought it was normal, after all I was growing up and we tend to cut off things from previous phases of life -- I know I do -- but now I reconnected with their music. this album is up there with the other two and I'm so happy I found them again. its like meeting an old friend and realizing you not only have history together, you still have a lot in common after all these years. I don't have this kind of connection with any other band. looking forward to the 2021 album!
I agree but I’ll put il add No gods in there..
Agree! Beautiful Garbage & Bleed Like Me has some great songs too!!
Best song of a nice album.
Awesome band here.
I can not stop to listen this song 🎤🎼 ... Just amazing
I need this song every day!
I like the contrast between the very polished production and the occasional dissonant guitar lead.
Love this album.
Music perfection in my opinion
la reina esta de regreso ...I love garbage
love love love love love love love love
There is a touch of The Cure right there! Maybe even a little Bauhaus thrown in the mix…
Still rockin to this in 2020
the best track in the album, and one of their best song
This song is a jewel
Jesus this Band doesn't make any bad Songs 💜💜
pure gold
since the album "bleed like me", the number of songs i like has steadily decreased. It's a shame because garbage is my favorite band -.-
But I like this one ;)
im already broken hearted so lets get this party started !!!
This song is medicine.
Amazing song
Still kicks ass.. see you in raleigh
песня супер, цепляет от начала и до конца.
Love it!!!!!!
Love you! You,'re The Best of all... Why isn' t that a SINGLE???
So powerful ❤
Received great critical acclaim. Ranked well on Billboard alternative and indie charts
Stephen Holowicki Well... it's because it should be. It's one of their greatest pieces of work. This album is unique in a lot of ways.
It's got a queens of the stone age feel going on there a bit here and there.
All of garbage is awesome hey Shelly LOL😜👍😁💜
The lyrics are realistic but poetic as well
whoa hoooooooooo
Wow!!!! perfect song.
Vamos garbage que gran disco
post punk bass line.....nice anyway such a nice band!!!
OMG THIS ALBUM IS FIRE FOR ME 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘LOVE YOU GARBAGE
This is my favorite song from SLB. So good!
Shirley when you get back to Angelfish? Very rare song for sounds of Garbage. Nice work.
Yes you're right, very Angelfish. Mommy cant drive!
thank you for exist Shir!
The best album is and always has been their very first one. Every song on that album is great and hasn't been matched since. IMO!
Douchebag von Schatz That's your opinion as you shall have one. I don't agree with you though. This album is a different breed and definitely contains a lot of fantastic work from a fantastic band. This album holds its own without any effort. It's an unmatched masterpiece in a lot of ways and remains such to many of Garbage fans. I'm sure you're aware of that fact. If not, do some research. It's not so hard.
Love this 🎀🎈🎈🎈🎈
this ia much better album than their last, vapid, insipid previous one
Daaammn why i never hear this before, im gonna share this album to my friend
Para esos tres dislikes..
Flaco que te pasó en la vida?
' “Blackout” has sort of really heavy guitars. That was something Duke came up with when we were first jamming, and I was playing the bass. I wanted to get things sounding a bit like one of my favorite bands, the Cure. Part of their sound is a really chorus-y bass. There are a few kind of cool sounds from the ’80s [chuckles.] I guess I went on a bit of a nostalgia trip on some of this album. A lot of sounds remind me of something like Siouxsie and the Banshees or the Cure, where’s it’s inspired by the ’80s-or even the early ’70s. Gemma Seymour ..and this is quoted from which source?
I thought it was Steve that came up with the bass

Someone's borrowed The Cure's bass sound from early tracks. I like it here and at source too.
Sounds like the cure covering vow...nothing wrong with bands re writing their own songs, the stones have been doing it since day one, lol.
Sounds like Sioux and the banshees
Did I hear a key change in there
That would take some of the rock and roll out and have Shirl. more out front. Doesn't sound like that all to me. This rocks hard. Me like!@
get of out your head get of out your head
Yeja
under wraps eh lol
No hanky panky baby
SHIRLEY MANSON...
Me gusta pero creo que Garbage no volverá, lo añoro.
ALL CHILDREN MATTER LOVE CAN SAVE HUMANITY
I love Shirley playing with her singing style.. but I'd still like to see her join a female band
Definitely older Cure, and better than some of the Cure songs, I Swear Simon Gallup played the bass if I did not know better. The left fuzz guitar, and clean right...great great song.
Is she married.

I thought this was a Garbage commenting section.
