    Great recipe! I'm sure the sauce makes it great. I would cut them up for a party and with family, just do it cake style and leave the knife.

    I have been making these for years but I have NEVER put mustard or poppy seeds in it. 🤔
    I just use butter, garlic, pepper & basil for the top, also I pull them all apart after I cut the tops off & I crinkle up two thin slices of deli ham per roll so they're nice an thick. 😋

    Try this recipe using Ky. Legend ham sliced super thin& pile it on. These hams are the best tasting hams. Got a whole ham for under$3 a lb. Made 4 trays of sandwiches& have over 1\2 the ham left. Gonna freeze it for a later date. It's actually cheaper than deli+ WAY BETTER. The outside of the ham looks like it has a skin on it but it doesn't. Just slice& eat. If u don't have a slicer the store can shave\slice for u. I bake these whole for Easter with a little water just to heat up. About 15 min a lb covered w\foil. They are fully cooked tho. U'll never buy any other ham once u try these.YUM

      @Smithhomestead  3 роки тому

      That sounds good!! That's actually a good idea to freeze for later, we have definitely been freezing more food this year... but i never really thought of freezing sliced meat for sandwiches!

    They look good, just wondering why you don't spread the mixture inside the top bun and then it wouldn't be so messy to pick up and eat.

    Dont lay ham pieces flat. Ball them up and it makes for three times as much ham on each roll.

    I know I don't have to use a ton of butter like you did, but geez that's a lot of butter. Those hot and ham cheese sliders are swimming in butter 🤢

    • @Smithhomestead
      @Smithhomestead  3 роки тому +1

      Yes you could cut back the butter or not use all the mixture over the rolls, but they do need coated so they don't burn while in the oven!

    You said 1 TBSP Dijon must & 1 TBSP Poppyseed!! your recipe calls for 2 which is it???? Also, you did not specify the minced onions came from a bottle!! If I was to print out this recipe for a friend she would probably use real onion & too much must & poppy seed!! sorry but a thumbs down for this recipe

    • @Smithhomestead
      @Smithhomestead  4 роки тому +1

      Sorry Cindy I will correct the recipe, to 1 TBSP each, you could even cut that back more depending on your preference!
