I never thought about the silver undercoat - great idea and I'll certainly be trying that. Thanks!
Great tutorial, I like that you provide two really good options to use...
Great idea ! I will try this method on a future build .
Great info, especially the silver base coat. I had a red Cooper S and the standard bonnet stripes were black with a thin white edge.
Awesome, great work.
Idd een goed voorbeeld voor mijn cobra build
Excellent video, thanks
I dont know how you come up with these ideas but you just solved my great problem :D I have the bigboy revell mustang and what to do it white with black stripes...the decals are white and I dont have access to printer...so this is a great idea and way to do it!!! thanks a lot! :)
Great tip. Thanks for sharing
Can you make some tutorial's about photo-eached parts? Tnx for rest of tutorials. Very useful.
Thanks for the tip man. Will use this technique.

5.can i use regular masking tape?
ZeButt Cookie aply realy thick coats
ZeButt Cookie use matt clear
ZeButt Cookie i have no idea
ZeButt Cookie tamiya clear paints
ZeButt Cookie i would not advise it
really a good one thanx
Nice!
Do you ever have problems with the paint bleeding through the masking tape onto the unwanted parts of the body?
Great how to Thanks!
hi there! I just started using Air brush. what type of paint are you using? I plan to use acrylic paint. is that a good option?
Jesse Prawiro i use zero paints.
Do you use lacquers base paints for interiors and chassis and acrylics for details?
Legrand Wilson yes
Mr. Ruijter,
I was painting a pair of seats for my LFA, and it was white paint over black. I put a couple coats, but later on, the paint started cracking. I wanted to see if you knew why this was, and how to prevent it
And by the way, I was brushing the paint on, tamiya acrilyc flat white
The layer you applied first was not cmpletly dry. When you applied the second layer on top, it was so thick the first could not breath, move, settle and tears the other layers appart until it cracks.
The Scalemodeling Channel Oh okay. Thank you very much, I will take this into consideration
Irrelevant question, Is it necessary to apply sanding paper of 1.5k to 3k grit if we have alot of dust particles on the body.. can't we just 3 stage polish it and get the smoothness?
Abuzar Chohan the polish is not course enough to sand the clear away.
I can't found the sandpapers.. Would you please help?
Abuzar Chohan ebay or a local auto parts store
The Scalemodeling Channel here in pakistan its toooooo hard to find these quality sandpapers.. as there is no trend here.. and on ebay.. most of the sellers don't ship to pakistan
I got a little question for you : is it a good idea to mixing tamiya yellow and tamiya titanium gold for having a yellow metallic paint ?
I'm french so I hope you will understand XD
Thank you for your time :)
Why not give it a try?
Yeah you're probably right ^^ thanks
you should do a porsche 917k!
Thanks again for these teaching moments on model building. I see you have the H & S Evo 2 in 1 airbrush. I am considering the 2mm solo airbrush that only has the 2 ml cup. Do you use the 2 or 5 ml cup for spraying model car bodies and small detail parts? Other than paint volume, what is the benefit of the larger cup? Can a 1/24 scale body be entirely painted with one fill of the 2 ml cup? Is the 2mm needle sufficient size for painting model car bodies? Thanks.
I would get the 2 in 1, a little more pricey, but well woth the extra cup and needle. I always use the 5ml cup and 4mm neelde
Great video Tom.
Wanted to ask, do I need to sand the base coat before I paint the stripes on?
Jimmy Muffler no. That will introduce dust and scratches ;)
Sounds good. So once my stripes are painted, seal everything in clear and wetsand/polish away?
Jup jup.
also you should build an F1 car! from the 70's (Stewart, senna) not the new ones.
