the little details with the 4D hypercube/diamond, like the ability to pass through 3D walls like they don't exist (the same way you could see all of a 2D room) is SO genius. Honestly one of the most amazing series on the channel yet, keep up the work alan :D
@@malachiriehl1053 a 3d room on a piece of paper isn't truly 3D, it's just a projection of what a 3D room actually is, like you can't draw all the sides of a 3D cube on paper without crossing lines somewhere or only showing one face

Thanks a lot for continuing great videos! As a fan of fractal I fell I have to chime in because there was so much thought put into this video. A lot of geometry is "algorithmic" in the sense that you find a shape that comes from applying a formula: take an origin and mark all points that have the same distance to that origin defines a circle. This is how you generate the Golden Spiral: draw a quarter-circle and reduce the radius to 1/phi --> iterate. When you zoom in, it will at all scales look the same. Fractal (dimensions) are the same iterative idea applied to different "starting conditions". The easiest one is a Cantor set: there is no line segment, because any line-segment's center third is deleted. This will give you more than a 0-D cloud of points, because technically there are line segments, but less then a 1-D line because you delete a third of all line segments. Intuitively you would say the "fractal dimension" is what is left of the 1-D line segment: 2/3, but of course in math you want to generalize and you end up defining the "roughness" (or Hausdorff-dimension) of this fractal as ln(2)/ln(3)=0.631.

The area of each square can represent a number in the Fibonacci sequence, and the ratio of the squares sides are φ. 5:12 Golden dart. The ratio of the long sides to the center side is φ^-1 5:27 Extension of previous flash. The length of the center line is φ, demonstrating (1/φ) + 1 = φ 5:40 The pentagram. Absolutely littered with φ - Ratio of the sides of the pentagram to the sides of the pentagon is φ - on a single pentagram side, the ratio between the first segment to the other two segments combined is φ - the golden triangle is everywhere, an isosceles triangle where base length is 1 and hypotenuses length is φ. There’s also the second variant where the ratio is flipped. - can be inscribed indefinitely. 5:43 Phi’s copies create golden triangles, then… (top) rectangles with area = φ where square = 1 (Middle) golden lasers with length φ (Bottom) a triangle with a squared side, when the squares diagonal is rotated to touch the line below, produces another triangle with hypotenuse length φ 6:40 (fun fact, no flash) If you connect all the midpoints of the faces of an octahedron, you get a cube. Shapes with this property are “duel” solids. 7:06 You can construct an icosahedron with rectangles where the ratio of the sides is φ:1 7:36 You can construct a dodecahedron with rectangles where the ratio of the sides is 2φ:1 7:53 The dodecahedron is the absolute pinnacle of φ. And was associated with perfection back in the early days of geometry.

5:33 is like the intro to a boss battle 😂
And all those golden ratios forming those (I don't know what they're called) defence weapons😅.
7:52 being racist of the golden ratio.😂
bro this is the most confused ive ever been while watching one of your videos. despite that, it was so good and the music was so fire 🔥
Pretty please, tell Alan that he has to do Animation vs Biology or like vs life...
Animation vs Quantum Mechanics
Animation vs real life.
Like, the victim company thing found a way to get into the real world
@@meltedchees that could be sooo good!
6:01 A mathematic therm telling a two-dimensional boy to trap a fourth-dimensional entity in a three-dimensional cube... Awesome
(sorry for my bad english)
Did he get out of the infinite loop?
Yes, though doesn't seem to be a loop since he's not stuck. More like meeting your past self.
Animation Vs Geometry at this time is considered to be more fun than other subjects in the past.
is nobody gonna talk about how at 1:47 the ratio of a:b is sqrt(3)
It was nudged a bit to set up the 30-60-90 triangle.
@@isavenewspapers8890 oh ok
but still why is no one talking about it
√︎3
7:08 BUT from animation vs minecraft we know that TSC as a 2d creature can live, walk and see 3d, so he might also travel in 4d...
3:14 So we’re not gonna talk about the shape of that😂
It's an actual proof for the Pythagorean Theorem.
This animation is great, another work of art… and science
1:42 easy as Phi
The soundtrack is amazing!
Anyway, every golden flash explained:
1:22
First FLASH. Happens when a:b, the ratio of length a to length b approaches the golden ratio the format is:
a = the displayed number
b = 1
(Fun fact, TSC comes out of this point near the beginning of the video)
1:36
φ = 1.618 (irrational number)
Can be written algebraically as
(1 + 5^(1/2)) / 2
2:49
Ratio of hypotenuse to shortest side is φ:1 (circumference is πφ, diameter is φ)
3:00
Area of this square is φ, allowing Phi to float in 2-dimensional space.
3:40
φ^0 = 1
φ^1 = φ
φ^2 = total area (2.618)
(Hinting at the insane coincidental property that φ + 1 = φ^2)
4:21 (not a flash but still interesting)
This fraction below the line is infinite but is equivalent to φ
4:32
Fibonacci curve, or golden curve.
The area of each square can represent a number in the Fibonacci sequence, and the ratio of the squares sides are φ.
5:12
Golden dart.
The ratio of the long sides to the center side is φ^-1
5:27
Extension of previous flash.
The length of the center line is φ, demonstrating (1/φ) + 1 = φ
5:40
The pentagram. Absolutely littered with φ
- Ratio of the sides of the pentagram to the sides of the pentagon is φ
- on a single pentagram side, the ratio between the first segment to the other two segments combined is φ
- the golden triangle is everywhere, an isosceles triangle where base length is 1 and hypotenuses length is φ. There’s also the second variant where the ratio is flipped.
- can be inscribed indefinitely.
5:43
Phi’s copies create golden triangles, then…
(top) rectangles with area = φ where square = 1
(Middle) golden lasers with length φ
(Bottom) a triangle with a squared side, when the squares diagonal is rotated to touch the line below, produces another triangle with hypotenuse length φ
6:40 (fun fact, no flash)
If you connect all the midpoints of the faces of an octahedron, you get a cube. Shapes with this property are “duel” solids.
7:06
You can construct an icosahedron with rectangles where the ratio of the sides is φ:1
7:36
You can construct a dodecahedron with rectangles where the ratio of the sides is 2φ:1
7:53
The dodecahedron is the absolute pinnacle of φ. And was associated with perfection back in the early days of geometry.
0:19 that was gross
