Exactly. If they wanted a B3 they would have gotten one, but its not practical for making midi files for people to learn on. We gotta just learn to enjoy without being critical

And the organist is playing with a gospel style. Just because it isn't a Hammond B3 doesn't make the worship or the intention behind the song any less valuable.
If that's the case, the keyboardist is wrong for not playing on an actual piano, and the drummer is wrong for not playing on an actual kit.

What type of electric drum kit is that? Sounds just like a acoustic kit in a studio.

Thank you for sharing this! I learned the DL version from the recording awhile back and then stumbled across this mind-blowing version yesterday. The Bb hit at 2:12 & 3:34 really caught my ear because that's a chord that I had never heard prior to this.
I should have just joined to see the piano view MIDI file because I went through trial and error to identify the piano chord. Then I used a scales-chords identification website and found out that the notes in the Bb piano chord seem to fit into A#/Bb diminished (wholetone-halftone) underlying scale with a basic chord voicing something like this: LH: D F G# B RH: C# E G Bb I compared it with DL version which taught me that the Bb chord voicing they used with that horn arrangement fits the other Bb diminished scale (halftone-wholetone) with a chord voicing something like this: LH: Db E G Bb RH: E G C E The musicians at hearandplay helped me to understand that there are pure 8-note diminished chords based on both types of diminished scales that can be tweaked to emphasize certain notes and substituted for each other along with many other chords that can drop into the same musical context (like this one from A#/Bb Altered Scale LH: D E F# G# A# RH: D F# G# A# C#)
