Founder's Day! Event today in Tunkhannock, PA! Today is Day 174 of the Metal Relic video challenge! The script is mine, the voice is AI's.
Founder's Day was great! It was really nice to meet and greet so many people! I rolled in there a bit light as far as the normal amount of items I typically bring, but made up for it by interacting and engaging.
I had a few friends come out for support during the event and everyone had a great time. As always, your support in what I do is very much appreciated.
Here is a little bit about the recent history of Tunkhannock.
The Great Depression and the decline of the coal industry in the early 20th century brought challenges to Tunkhannock, as it did to many communities in northeast PA. However, the town managed to adapt and survive. Agriculture remained a steady economic base, and new industries, such as dairy farming, emerged.
In the latter half of the 20th century, Tunkhannock began to emphasize its historical and natural assets. The Susquehanna River, once primarily a commercial route, became a focal point for recreation and tourism. Efforts to preserve historic buildings and promote the borough's heritage gained momentum.
The next milestone for another rose giveaway is 5,000 followers on TikTok.
