Most of the concepts are the same, but the UI has evolved quite a bit since this video. See the v1.41, and 2023 in review videos. Maybe will be time for a new patching tutorial soon.
Thank you for giving me such a great synth! I'm a beginner... but in few hours, I understood the basics well. Thank you again for such dedication and hard work! A new customer.
Crazy the amount of adverts that pop up these days when watching the videos (unless you have some kind of blocker).. maybe I will consider to additionally share these tutorials via another mechanism (I'm not monetizing the videos here).
@@HyperionSynth had it for only a few days and it has become one of my favourite sound design tool ! Great sounding reverbs and filters ! Keep it up . One thing would be cool : being able to import wavetables and it’s a clutch ! ✨
@@ColibriRafael Implementing wavetable import/oscillator is a low likelihood to be honest, due to the nature of the modular engine and trying to keep CPU overhead low, however you can get similar results with Wavesequence/FM wavesequence nodes or by using 4 looping samples and the Vector mixer node. Anyway, you can expect further updates to UX/sound processing nodes in future in general. Welcome to join our discord community to discuss - see link at hyperionsynth website help pages.
What a great synth that is! My great respect to the creator! I would, however, give away my kidney to have a decent MSEG like the one PhasePlant or Dune 3 offers. Then Hyperion would have no match! Do you plan to add a super-flexible MSEG? If so, you will have won another customer.
@@wavesequencer , thank you for your answer. So today I've become a happy owner of your wonderful product. Here, if I may say, let me share with you some feedback: the MSEG/custom LFO requires some further tuning, in order to make it more customer friendly and let a musician draw whatever MSEG shape they need. Apart from that I wish you perseverance in further development of your great product!
@@pawelrozkrut157 For sure there are some things that can be optimized with the custom LFO/mseg implementation. A good place to discuss that would be the Wavesequencer discord. More updates are coming.
Hi Paul. I saw Hiperion is on Sale, and I am very tempted. But one question please: I already have VCV Rack Pro and I find it pretty tedious to work with... Hiperion seems easier to use. Wich are your opinions comparing the Hiperion to VCV please? Thank you :)
First thing to note, is that you can try Hyperion before buying it - so I recommend you do that (use trial mode for up to 3 months). I'm not sure that one is easier to use than the other, but Hyperion synth is designed to be able to add many nodes on many layers, and it can do that whilst having a lower CPU load - so it's much more suitable for multi-layered polyphonic sounds. The other thing about Hyperion is that all the nodes are always available and it comes with many ready made patches (800+) - and any patch you create can be shared with other Hyperion users without them needing 3rd party modules. Personally I prefer the more compact patching layout in Hyperion vs the more Euro-rack skeumorphic design of VCV and others like it. Hyperion is designed with keyboard (and MPE controller) playing in mind more than generative style patches of typical modular systems, although generative patches are perfectly possible. A new update of Hyperion is coming in December with more graphical widgets.
It sounds fantastic, but as someone who is more musician than software engineer, I’m not sure if I have the right brain to deal with all this. I wish I did!
Thankyou. Well, there is also Theia synth, which is the patch player version of Hyperion. Theia has pre-mapped macro controls for major tone controls (+ a master wet/dry control) and it lets you control the levels/key and velocity ranges of each layer in the combi sounds, and even the has arp settings of each layer available. I'm also working on a new synth which is more straightforward but based on the Hyperion core processing. There are 3 patch pack expansions already available for Theia and Hyperion - check at the Tracktion website, and a new one will be released sometime in early August too (over 100 new patches).
One more note, this video is now also quite old - check out the more recent videos - the UI has been updated to be even easier to use with more visuals. Note that you can also try a trial mode version of Hyperion before purchase.
@@HyperionSynth Thank you for the reply. I'm very interested in checking-out Theia, but as the UI has been made a little more user friendly, I'm compelled to buy Hyperion, as I want to hear the synth at the peak of its potential. Plus, it's time for me to learn more about synthesis. I wish you all the best for the future.
I just noticed the deal saying if i buy Theia, I can them upgrade to Hyperion at a 50% discount. This is not only great value, but intelligent, as it's the perfect path for a buyer like myself. This is the kind of customer relations that makes me stay with a brand for life.
Great stuff!

Thanks for your kind comments - all the positive responses are super encouraging.
Amazing work Paul
Love how this synth sounds. Thanks for putting this video together, Super helpful!
As always, excellent content! Love going through the 'basics' with such depth and creativity. Bravo!

A big step up from the last video I watched. Hyperion is the result of lots of tinkering and love, that is clear to me.
Thank you
Awesome presentation, a must watch for every newbie, HYPERION rocks ;-)
Just got it and it's really something good ! Endless possibilities .
Thanks! We have another update coming - v1.40 is in beta testing and should be out next week.

There is a custom LFO node you can draw your own or use spline curves - all the usual LFO controls like tempo sync and one shot mode.

MSEG drawable LFO and MSEG drawable audio oscillator, + MSEG data-mapper curve were added last month :)
Brilliant!
