Tip for everyone wanting to solve any modern electronics problem. 1st I check for obvious damaged parts, like resistors heat damaged (cooked) and electrolytic (polarized) can capacitors that are bad or getting bad - look at the top of all biggest ones to see if it is swelling and top is bulged up. Any bulging means it needs replaced. 2nd thing i always check is if there is any bad (cold) solder connections on the PCB's. Use some head worn magnifiers and inspect all ribon wire connectors, and all wire thru hole connectors that have a component that has a lot of mass to it. Large parts will cool solder down too fast when the device was manufactured and cause it to be a "Cold" joint to often. It might pass testing, but vibrations and heating and cooling cycles can make these weak connections eventually fail. Look for hair line cracks around the parts leg poking thru the hole. If any connection doesn't look like the good ones, it is suspect and should be resoldered. 90% of all repairs i do is finding and resoldering bad connections on modern consumer electronics. The lead (pb) free solder used now in manufacturing suffers greatly from doing this. I use 60/40 solder to make the repairs by heating the connections and adding solder to make sure it is a "wet" connection. Be sure to not make any solder bridges to a nearby connection or known as a "Short circuit". A great additional soldering aid tool is a solder sucker for removing excess solder or to remove a part and clear the hole of solder so replacement part can be mounted as original part was. Every solder connection must meet 2 conditions in order to be a proper good joint: 1 it must provide the best possible electrical connection between components that can handle The current flow. 2 it must provide structural support for the component to prevent the solder from failing due to mechanical stress. If you make all connections meet these 2 requirements, you have performed the work correctly. After doing this inspection and working on suspected connections, then test the device to see if problem is solved. If problem persist, then do like this guy did and check for proper voltages from the power regulators. Some devices have multiple voltages they use, some only have one or two. NOTE: Always disconnect power from device before attempting to do any soldering. Never solder live circuits! Only use soldering irons, preferably a DC isolated one for sensitive electronics. NEVER use a Soldering Gun on low voltage circuit boards! Guns are a inductive method to heat the tip. There can be a high current flowing thru the soldering tip that can destroy sensitive semiconductors on low voltage circuit boards. Hope this helps everyone and good luck. Thanks for this video sir, it is a very good informative example of troubleshooting a device and repair solution. I have the same stereo to fix for a friend with same error code.

You are very welcome
Very detailed and informative
Sorry, I am unclear, did the new regulator go on a heatsink, does it not get hot?
Not too hot, just moderate
When you replaced the regulator with the other one, do you have to disconnect the original one?
No didn't remove the connection I just parallel it, it's ok because there is no shorted at the original regulator, it's just droping
