If your scanner is not working, seeing this video for you from the first to the last, you will know why the scanner is not working and how to fix it.
1- check your power cable and switch.
2- check your printer to computer connect cable.
3- switch off printer some time, then turn on printer.
4- Right click the Scanner open it Administrator mode.
Now your scanner its work 100%

The fix is to use an ethernet and usb cable. Connect the printer to your router via ethernet to scan. You will still need your usb cable to print. HP will not tell you this fix. They are writing bad code or trying to sell more printers.

Hi - My scanner is an epson v370 and it was working - now not. I unstalled ALL and re-installed ALL including any driverupdates I could find. However I see in under properties the highest version windows displayed is 8 and I am on windows 10 home. how can i fix this>

Epson scan won't open even after I've tried to run as administrator. I get the same "cannot communicate" bullshit message. If I press the scan button on the scanner then it will scan the document and prints a perfect copy out. The problem is I don't want a printed copy, I need a digital copy. Is there any button on the device that will scan the document onto the PC rather than print a copy out? Every button I've pressed so far just prints the same fucking document out. Driving me INSANE!!!!!!!!!

I check the compability and run as administrator.but its not working
So please change your data cable
If there is a tick mark in compatibility saying run this program in compatibility mode for windows 95 or windows 98 or windows 2000 then just remove that tick mark. It solved my problem for xp service pack 3 just see same option exists for windows 7 etc.

Essentially, the scanner program is to be run under compatibility mode of Windows 7 and in Administrator mode.

I have an EPSON ES-400 that is doing this exact same thing, but I think you might be running a different OS than I am because I don't have the option to "run as administrator" even though I am the admin. I would love to fix my issue with my scanner though as it is a necessity for my work. I have Windows 11 home if that helps. Thank you.

When I go to the Properties on the printer icon and go to Hardware there are no devices in the box "Name" that you showed . It is completely empty.
