I admire your willingness to get in there and get things done - to tackle jobs across a broad range of disciplines. That Sherpa carry and lift of the countertop was awesome. That said, I would revise the electrical work. You shouldn't replace an old ungrounded outlet with a 3-prong outlet without a ground. However, you can replace the old 2-wire outlet with a GFCI 3-prong outlet. (do put the black wires to the brass connections though) and the outlet should be labeled as "No Equipment Ground". Other than that quick change, it should be good to go and to code. This looks like an impressive build. Looking forward to part 2

Just a tip I learned from my electrician friend - You should have black wires to brass screws and neutral/white to silver. It will work the way you did it, but you’ve reversed the polarity and you could get shocked this way.
This is correct. Components that have internal switches (like refrigerator) are design to switch the hot side of an outlet. Switching the neutral side is not allowed under NEC code. I've pointed other electrical faults out in a separate comment
Holy cow! This has got to be one of the most impressive videos I've ever seen on YT. That's a lot of work for just one person (mostly) and the fact that you guys have all of those tools. Looks great! I'm slowly building my tool collection. I think the next investment will be a table saw.

Well, I can but that requires me to build a building in the vacant area and also council permission. I can only dream.
Nice job. Have you thought about using dowels between the counter top boards as a way to keep the boards aligned and flat as you clamped them? If so, why decide not to go that route? Thank you!
Are your electrical boxes metal, most are in homes of that age? if not then your outlets won't be grounded, You can replace those with a GFCI; it will give you some protection. GFCI outlet will have instruction on installing without ground wire.
Doesn't matter because that receptacle is not self-grounding. It still won't be grounded even with a metal box (which itself still needs to be grounded somehow).

I am a little confused about the difference between the planer and the sander. Why would you have to use the planer and still sand? Also, I was confused at first when you notched out part of the hutch top on the left until I saw the light switch. This project is beautiful. Always making the rest of us want to remodel our homes. 🤣 The light fixtures fit the ambiance of both rooms perfectly. Hmmm, will she stain the wood, or paint it white? Thanks for sharing, Stefani. Planers make wood a consistent thickness, while sanding makes wood smooth to the touch. Planers generally don't leave a perfectly smooth surface, although can certainly make it somewhat smoother if it starts out very rough.
Also normally for this kind of work the normal process would be to have a joiner (but they are expensive and only needed for professionals) and my biggest tip would have been to utilize Dominoes instead of pocket holes, the thickness was here to do that and the warpage would not be as much of an issue. But looks so good!

Good video....FYI...Your 2 "prong" duplex outlet replacement doesn't have a ground, so you should replace it with a GFCI receptacle

She did that to keep it plumb and level. Most walls and floors are not perfectly flat.

Beautiful build. The only concern I have is the 2x10 wood you are using is not dry and will crack and bend on you in a year or so. Any thoughts?
