    I was at this game. Upper deck, perfectly positioned behind Stockton's winning shot, and I could tell it was on line as soon as it left his hand. As a 14 year old Rockets fan it crushed me, but as the years go on I just try to appreciate the memories, even the bad ones.

      Good for you in treating the good the same way as the not-so, as decades went on.
      As for me, I still treat good as good and vice versa. But I’m not implying your approach is wrong, on the other.
      And yeah, I have that Upper Deck card of Stockton’s clutch somewhere in the house as well.

    The Jazz's best season 64-18 Record, 38-3 at home (10-1 in the playoffs). Had two future Hall of Famers, a great coach, a great supporting cast, and likely the most experience of any team the Bulls played in their 6 finals trips. Hence why the they're the only team the Bulls had to play twice in back to back finals.

    • @OrionOodama
      @OrionOodama Місяць тому

      And the Jazz were so close to force g7 and potentially spoil “The Last Dance”.
      To think of it, if the Bulls lost in 1998, they could have that strong reason and resolve to be back next year
      - lockout or not.

      @@OrionOodama The clutch city Rockets team would've been a more difficult matchup overall w/faster players like Horry, Smith, and Cassell that could run the floor and take the ball to the basket. They lost this series because Stockton dominated the PGs and Barkley was slow on both ends of the floor.

    Stockton should've been more aggressive like this scoring wise more often in his playoff career.

      Cassell was part of the Barkley trade along w/Horry that's why he wasn't there. Ironically Kevin Willis seemed to fit the Rockets system better compared to Barkley because he was less injury prone.

    Everyone wanted the Rockets with their big 3 of Dream, Drexler, and Barkley against the awesome Bulls in the Finals. But the Jazz had other plans. Sweet redemption for the aging dynamic duo of Stockton and Malone, particularly when you remember they lost to these Rockets in 94 and 95.

    Previous highlights somehow not showing the prior play that led to John Stockton's series-clinching clutch.
    Do these channels spare "the Glide" from embarrassment, or lack of court smarts? No idea.
    Before this feature, I relied on cousin's storytelling that Clyde Drexler unwisely drove with at least five (5) seconds left even there's no shot lock anymore.
    Perhaps he's unaccustomed to clutch shots. And I don't remember seeing a game or highlight he made a buzzer-beating, game-winning FG.
    As for John Stockton, how I wish he made "that" clutch shot g6 of 1998 NBA Finals, spoiling GOAT's previous and now-iconic deuce. He was an inch or two short.
